Gotta say the apple approach companies are taking with their control panel/quick panel from the corner, it's painful. Much prefer having the shade show a simple row of shortcuts and then notifications.I like how they have kept the option to change back, for now.
What Samsung did with galaxy buds I’m scared in future they’re gonna copy Apple so bad it’ll get embarrassing. I don’t know why they did that like other Chinese brands. After building their own identity for years they just lost it within a launch.

One thing interests me the most. Whether they make OneUI less stuttery or leave them as they are now. I'd like to have animations as good as in iOS or HyperOS. Even on Samsung phones with flagship snapdragon chipsets i can see lags here and there. Samsung should fix it long ago but i hope it's gonna be fixed now.
As to your question about the enlarged folders, I'm an example of a person who groups a lot of things like my financial applications, medical portals, etc.and it's nice to have the larger box to see the icons better. And the colors make it fun as well. I also like the plus sign where you can easily add an application.
Samsung Camera App needs a lot of updates to match the quality of the physical hardware on the phone. For example, even if you set camera app to the double tap of the side button, doing that and then swiping to video mode takes too much time when you want to record something in the moment. The post processing level settings for photos are not at all useful since there is zero explanation to what each level does anywhere. On top of all this, I just discovered that removing the Night Mode from the sliding options bar at the bottom also disables night mode kicking in when using the normal photo mode. What a strange design if not a straight out bug.
I switched from iPhone to the S24 Ultra because I was so bored of iOS, and now every Android UI gets more and more like iOS like two months later? Kinda sucks... I REALLY love One UI 6
Great video. This guy is the best reviewer for Samsung products, people in the comments just take a chill pill, this is only the first beta, Samsung will add new features in the next updates.
I guess i'm just one of those superficial people 😅 i'm enjoying the graphical changes. I had briefly used the OnePlus, open and those things like the expanded folders, etc. Kind of caught my eye, and I was happy to see them here in the beta.
Well I am not very impressed. A lot of "graphical" changes, but not much in terms of new things. And the removal of Dex for windows is so stupid ! Windows My Phone is not flexible enough to replace it, at all. Not sure it is the direction to take. :(
It's just the first beta. There will likely be newer features added and more improvements as time progresses. Also, One UI 7.1 that will launch with the S25 Ultra will likely being huge changes too! Losing DeX for PC was a blow though 😔
@@techwithbenefits I wonder what will happen with Dex for PC on Samsung's Flex pro line of pc, that would be very stupid to remove it and keep all the other Samsung apps on them !
Well it got an update yesterday 😅😅 so it might still be maintained for phones that aren't getting One UI 7 for a little while longer, then might get the boot altogether.
wait huh? they're removing it? I thought people meant they weren't putting it on new phones anymore not removing the feature from our very expensive phones, I bought mine in part for dex...
So us Aussies get access to it through the members section on the app ? I like that you don’t have to have the horrible Samsung keyboard anymore to use the writing tools as it works with any third party keyboard like Gboard.
Unfortunately no beta access through members in Australia 😔. Through my work for SamMobile I was able to get access to it! And yes that update is good for those that prefer Gboard!
No 👎🏾 from what I can tell it is only samsung apps, and I have a stacked widget which includes buds controls, which still have the original background with transparency option, not the frosted glass look.
These are great. But I'm more interested in Samsung upgrading the app the features like the Samsung gallery app. 🌌 I have some suggestions for ONE UI 7.0 in Android 15 (which I suggested to Samsung through the Members app). One thing I want them to focus more on is app features, such as the gallery, for example: it needs a revamp in the sense of adding features like (1) 'improved search functionality' by adding a search button in each album. (2) 'Remember the last location' while exiting an album instead of scrolling back. (3) 'Multiple photos selected and renamed at the same time instead of one by one. (4) 'Customisable column count: which can be added in the Galaxy labs section. These are my suggestions because I'm a photographer and I use my gallery app a lot. So, what do you think? If you like these suggestions, please send them to Samsung. Let's make this happen.
I'm new to this whole beta UI thing. I've always waited for the final version. My question is, why what happens with this? If there are incremental updates, do you get a notification of a software update or does this stay the same as it is right up until the final version.I'm guessing you get updates. But I just wanted to ask.
It's my first time with this too actually! Im from a country where the beta isn't available, so I had to get it via other methods 😅 But you are correct. If you are a participant in the beta program, you get updates and then you provide feedback on bugs or features directly to Samsung via their members app!
@Private36587 nah the S24 Ultra used a new panel over the S23 Ultra. Allows for lower power consumption for aod and has better tech to accommodate the feature
I'll be honest and say, I like the new features, but I'm not a fan of the more rounded look. The rounded progression bars, like for the brightness and volume, irrationally annoys me. At least a lot of the UI changes are optional. and I appreciate options.
I know this is a beta but this has been in the works already for months of getting pushed off. And this is all that you get. This update was pushed off twice, touting that it was going to be this big overhaul and changes everything. Just because they tweaked a few little graphical design interfaces, doesn't mean it's a game changer. This is really a let down. I really hope that it gets much better. Thanks for the review anyways.
