I got the Moto G Stylus 2024 for $0 and i just picked up the Razr for $128 bucks. I don't think I am allowed to complain to be frank. I love both of these phones.
I bought the S23 Ultra earlier this year Steve and sold it back to my local dealer after about 4 months. As you say, the Ultra just didn't give me any pleasure in using it.
I just recently bought a Moto edge 2024 for 250 from Spectrum and my god I am shocked how well this phone does. Made forget about iPhone and a case. Heck, you can buy multiples of these for the same price as a flagship and the performance Diff is barely noticeable. Motorola, now Lenovo is one to watch most definitely
The Moto G Stylus has made me rethink the phone market entirely. I was playing with it next to an S24+ at Walmart, actually preferred the display on this. That is not a typo. Grabbed one on offer up for 100 bucks. Was expecting the snapdragon 6 gen 1 to be the downside, yet RARELY have seen ANY stutter. Gaming was smooth. Battery life, really good. Phone is so pleasantly light to hold, build quality is just plain comfortable. Moto has the best little features that I ACTUALLY find useful, as opposed to Samsungs strategy of quantity over quality. I think if more people would give Moto a chance, they'd love the attention to detail in terms of the software. I understand there's only one update, 3 years of security.... But I switch phones at least every 3 years. Simply put, this device has pleased me more than any other flagship not only in terms of plain value, but the uniqueness and personality of the device itself. I have been using flagships exclusively for the past 10 years, got this for 100 bucks and am totally satisfied. The times of being sold needlessly, overpowered bullshit to make corporations rich is over.
For what it is worth, I was given a choice of two phones for Christmas this year: the Pixel 9 or Samsung S24 FE. Both were on good deals I imagine. It seems my whining about not being able to see my 6a's screen in full sunlight got way too annoying. So my mother is getting the 6a as a hand me down to replace her low end Samsung phone once I have played with the new phone for a week or so 😆 I went with the FE. Outside of cameras, I thought it fit my needs better than the 9 and the cameras seem good enough. I mention my old 6a enough in the comments here that I figured I should say something. And yes, the screen is so beautiful in the sunlight 😍
Great list! I currently own the Moto Razr+ 2024 and it’s definitely better than the Z flip 6. I bought one on Black Friday but ended up returning it because the razr+ just has a better form factor with it being wider and having a bigger front display. The ONLY negative is the inner display on the razr+ has TERRIBLE color calibration no matter how much you try to adjust it. The Moto G Stylis 2024 has WAY better color calibration and it’s a $250 phone!
Galaxy Note 9 for the win woot woot lol. -nice pics and videos -headphone jack -nice screen -decent battery life with tweaks -bought and paid for -been bought and paid for for many years
I love the fact that you have 2 Motorola devices on your list Steve. Picked up the Moto Edge 2024 a couple of weeks ago at my local Best Buy for $300! At that price it is an exceptional phone! Will be my daily driver for the next 18 to 24 months. My Moto Edge 2023 will be my back up phone.
The Samsung w25 special edition, s24 ultra, the vivo , honor magic v3 and porsche and Pixel 9 pro xl were the best. Your correct that we need innovation
How does the back of the Motorola Razr and Stylus feel? I'm so tired of glass back phones, and i dont care about wireless charging anymore. Also, the Motorola phones look so fun when compared to everything else these days. I want one.
I am so glad you' had the courage to speak out somewhat against that Samsung. S, 24 ultra, the cameras are absolutely horrible. It's not a fluid interface. They definitely need to work on their animations. When samsung CEO is coming out against itself, means it's time the rest of the tech community quit with the fake news. Another great video, Steve.
I do think 1 + 12 and 1 + 12 r we're both amazing phones this year. 1 + 12R is almost certainly the budget phone for North America of the year. 400 bucks and you get a 80 watt charger in the box and 8g2. I give it the edge over the Pixel 8A or whatever. I agree the Moto g stylus is a home run for the under 300 price point.
Mr Steveilicious, excellent video with objective opinions. I'm glad you put Samsung on notice, hopefully they get their sh*t together. I have the OnePlus open and I love that brand n operating system. I also have the moto 5g stylus and I agree with you, great phone for the price. Happy Holidays to you n your family.
A little confused how the pixel was so well received this year when it was basically identical to last year except for $140 more expensive for the 256 GB model and had square sides. Like there was no new hardware features, the camera bump was the same, the silicon and modem were all from Samsung. I love pixels I use pixels but the idea that the pixel 9 was the one where they really found their stride... I don't know it's basically the exact same thing as the Pixel 8 Pro except for pixel 8 Pro has the more ergonomic, but less iPhoney, build and was significantly less expensive. I love the Pixel 9 pro but the Pixel 8 procan be found for 350 bucks right now when it's 95% as good of a phone I would argue it's a better phone to hold. It just feels like the media decides to like something once it looks more like an iPhone which is so lame
Let me know about your favorites of the year!

Definitely, good phone but nothing exciting going on.
You 2 banged your peanut heads
I have 3 of the 5 phones you have listed. All are great options though.

Yay! Hello Moto!
Took a great deal on the Moto Razr and love it! Best phone I had in a long time!
I got the base model Razr for 128 bucks and I'm happy with it so far.

Thank you for not wanting last minute I didn't want you to wait until New Year's Eve to post this video😊
my favorite phones of the year, Galaxy A35 5G, S24 Ultra, Motorola G Stylus 5G 2024, Motorola G Power 5G, Google Pixel 9's
The Samsung w25 special edition, s24 ultra, the vivo , honor magic v3 and porsche and Pixel 9 pro xl were the best. Your correct that we need innovation

Really nice. I wish more phones would go to it. I don't even feel I need a case.

Thanks and it's true, not a good year for them.
My favorites are:
Oppo Find X7 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, just on the outside is the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Owned Oneplus12, pixel 9 pro, iphone 16 pm, and my slab phone of the year is easily the S24Ultra. Sold the others the S24U is still in my pocket.
So I bought a used Galaxy S21 AT&t locked but I unlocked it I got it for under $150.
Not bad!

Same to you! I appreciate it!
OnePlus 12
The list is thru American POV. The real contenders are in the East with Vivo and Oppo.
