This is very similar to how everyone clowned iPhone for 6GB ram for years. Let Google do their thing, they’re finally focusing on hardware and software optimization and so far they’re doing OK.
@@aymanrahman1737 You said it: "Now". Apple has been doing it for a long ass time, that's the point of the comment. The fact that it has taken Samsung and Google this long to get on board is headscratching. Samsung has a bit of am excuse since they release half a bazillion skus every year, but Google is a software company that releases just a handful of devices.
They really hit the spot with the Pixel 9 this year and they extends their OS support for older phones. I'm still rocking with the Pixel 6 and more OS update to come I can still fully utilize my phone for couple of years again!
5:25 Steve, Google already charges over $1,000.00 so Pixels aren't cheap anyway. Anything at this point is better than Tensor even a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor would've been fine for Pixel 9. Having a powerful chip inside a $800.00+ smartphone is like having a reliable car; even if it's not driven everyday at least it's there when needed.
They are, but now the Galaxy Ultra is over $1,400...everything else went up. There when it's needed for what? Enthusiasts have options to get other, more powerful devices. That's not what Google is selling. No where do they claim to have the best benchmarks or to be the most powerful. And it's working, people are buying it. Benchmarks and raw power don't matter. You don't even know what you'd need the power for. A rainy day? I'll pass. We barely tax chipsets from three years ago.
I love my Pixel 9. I had the 2XL, bought 2 Pixel 4 (which both had the green screen tint issue 😐), the Pixel 7 (which modem sucked, had to return it) and now the Pixel 9. I never gave up on Google cuz I knew they'll figure out eventually. I used iPhones in the meantime tho, cuz I wasn't willing to put up with all the issues that i was facing with day to day. They nailed it with the Pixel 9; its the first Pixel that, for me, has been delivering the same flawless user experienced I had with the Pixel 2XL and the iPhone. If you find a good deal on the Pixel 9 / 9 Pro, get it. You won't regret it.
I managed to upgrade from the 8 pro to the 9 pro xl and the modem is worse. Its drops service in places that my 8 pro never lost service. I don't understand why they are struggling so much with a tech that has been available for over 20 years.
mainly because google uses the modem made by samsung used in the exynos chipsets. Exynos has been the low key worst chip out there for years now. Hopefully they'll start getting better now tat they are using TSMC to make their chips
This is great news for my Pixel 6a. Ever since I updated to Android 15, this thing has excellent battery life and overall performance is fantastic. It's smooth as butter and Google is doing a great job with optimization and support. I just wish the modem was better on phone calls because many conversations are garbled on each end of the call. Otherwise, I'm very much impressed with how well Google does on everything.
All for pixel. Currently on base pixel 7 . Can anyone explain how the performance and longevity of the pixel 9 series still having ufs 3.1 storage be affected? I'm the person that keeps device for long term. Is this something to worry about down the line.
The Pixel tablet unfortunately didn't get the extended update support. Regardless how well it sold that's a missed opportunity for Google to put a better value in the tablet lineup. Hopefully they will eventually.
You are one of the few that has done videos on the Thinkphone by Motorola. Would you recommend buying the Moto g stylus 2024 or the ThinkPhone 2023 right now at the end of 2024??
@@StevealiciousTechI am leaning towards it. Right now it's 399. It has amazing highend specs that will last you for many years still. Also believe you will get few more OS updates. Only concern is the camera and if there has been a software update to improve it. Would I miss the new moto HelloUI that is on the stylus? Thx again
Man, you hit the proverbial nail-on-the-head in the entire 8:54 of this video and it's well appreciated by all of us who have, and still do, enjoy the Pixel experience! My ONLY real complaint (and I believe it's a valid complaint) with the Google Pixel phones is the internal storage - 128gb is simply not enough in their baseline phones. In this day and age, 256gb HAS to be the minimum in every device with the option of paying a little more for 256gb! Other than that, GOOD JOB, GOOGLE!
Still have my 6a and appreciate the breathing room. Could I live without software updates? Sure. Does my poor little FOMO brain like the idea? No... so the extension makes me happy :)
Still sucks for a Billion dollar company. It shouldn't have sucked in the first place, now it's getting to a point where it should be where it should be at the beginning.
Kinda funny how people who cried that google wasn't "powerful" now all of sudden y'all jumping on the bandwagon to support google 😂 dang you guys are about as loyal as a girl also #teampixel
that's why people stay with Apple who knows it might be boring but it will work iOS18 is buggy but Apple fixed it. you pay a thousand dollars for a phone you want it to work not fall apart.
Google can overtake samsung they're extending the life of devices and the delievered android 15 to new and old devices quick Samsung finally put out beta just for the s24 line I'm gonna get the s25 ultra but they got me rethinking it tbh
yeah, tensor got a lot better, but it still lacks compared to the Snapdragon 8 gen 4 phone buff made a video where they compared the S24U with the P9p xl and the s24 still won with more then 90 minuets of extra battery life. google should just stop using tensor and use snapdragon 8 or x elite
It certainly took long enough!

People still clown Apple for having low ram you live under a rock 😂 the pixel has 16 GB of ram that's what iphone should do
@@passivevii4052 I think you missed the point entirely: Apple gives long term software support to its devices.
@@Fernando-ek8jp so does google and samsung now. Its 7 years

I love this news for Google. My Pixel 6a thanks Google!
Exactly - such a great device! th-cam.com/video/nijyhcGg_Rc/w-d-xo.html
My Google Pixel 7a is very happy about this.
Yes baby!

It just may be your phone or the area you live in. I did the same upgrade and it’s been one hell of an improvement.
It's not your area it's not your carrier it's your Pixel phone. Wish Google would go back to Qualcomm or use Mediatek.

People complaining about Tensor should just get a Snapdragon phone. Its that simple.

Ummmmmmmm, probably still the ThinkPhone, if you can get it at a good price, I do think it offers better performance.

Google is making the android version of iPhone, in that it’s vertically integrated. This means less raw power needed to run smoothly.

The MSRP is already high lol
Then my Pixel 6 is better than ever
If only it had a better processor than I would be very happy but with this weak tensor, it really messes with me
