There have been a good bit of game controversies this year. Some have been pretty valid reasons for people to be mad or make fun of companies

Yeah, getting upset just because we are playing as a female is stupid, but I can understand the red flags about the voice actress being an unhinged activist, obviously she there just for voice acting but they choose someone who just shitting on people and blocking people who don’t share the same ideal as her than any other voice actresses who don’t, which raise questions if they share the same ideals as her and if they might add those in the game.
@@lordyoda9382 i heard some of that about the actor but right now we dont know if the company shares the same ideals. They could’ve just hired her for the roll and didn’t care about how she voices her opinions and just wanted her for the job

Tbh, as long as they are the same people who did the first first game and don’t adding anything to push a message to what they are fighting in real life then it doesn’t matter what their ideals are.
I'm all for playing as a female character, but some games I think just need a male character. Plus, even though it's a game, would a woman even be capable or allowed or whatever to be doing this kind of stuff? Ghost of Tsushima made it seem female warriors were very rare and mostly came from high statured clans and that was only when the husband died or something. I could be wrong though.

I don't get why people are complaining about the main character being a woman there was an entire plot point in the first gsme with a female samurai getting revenge for her etnire clans destruction so having a female warrior isnt that historically inaccurate as far as I understand lol

Plus the same group who made Ghost of Tsushima is making ghost of Yotei so i dont have much to worry. Plus Onna Bugeisha did exist and there were female warriors and bounty hunters.

The hate for the female character is because the chosen actor has some "woke" rants on her socials and people are thinking she'll make this role a political statement.
I just want people to wait for the game to come out. Sucker Punch has written many perfectly fine female characters.
In Ghost of Tsushima alone I liked the preformance and writing of Yuna, Lady Masako, Lady Sanjo, and Yuriko. A female lead is nothing to fear in my opinion.
I know im being petty but it's weird how nobody bats an eye when someone like tom crews and such actors have the opposite views unless there small enough to be shamed into oblivion. But when someone has these views it's turned into a political smear campaign because they want people to have rights, unless im totally misunderstanding how far this lady has gone as i don't fallow politics that much.

Some Assassins Creed games are great, Ubisoft is not.

I see a lot of people disappointed that Jin isn’t back but honestly I feel like his story ended perfectly. I don’t think they need to bring him back for the sake of bringing him back.

Maybe, but Tsushima is attacked again 7 years later in the 2nd invasion. I can't fault people for wanting more of his story when that is the perfect follow up to the first game.
the game ended with Jin being hunted by the Shogun. there's ALOT of his story to still tell. and it feels a waste to do a time skip new character

I think if I remember correctly the reason people don’t like the protagonist is because she’s being played by a LGBTQ+ advocate who doesn’t like the police.

The same thing happened when Star Wars Outlaws was first announced. People were hating on the main character for literally no other reason than that she was a woman.

I'm intrigued with how the story will go and how they'll tie back to Jin and GoT. I'm kind of hoping there will be a mention of Musashi Miyamoto in this game given how he was alive during the era this game takes place and is one of the most well known Samurai/Ronin in history.
Did the student of the Bow and Arrow guy from GoT survive? I forget. If so, I bet it's her.

Pretty sure Musashi is the one that started the duel wielding style.
They will probably make Jin sakai a legend side quest to find his legend ghost armour and maybe technique....most likely the Sakai Ghost Armour and mask, like a 3 part legend side quest like what happened in Ghost of Tsushima.

2:56 No it's mount Yoteï but it is also called Ezo Fuji meaning the mount Fuji of Hokkaido because of how similar they are.
I've got nothing in here that makes me angry.
The setting where the game takes place is current day Hokkaido and where Mt. Yotei is located. The game technically takes place outside of Japan, because the area of Hokkaido was not completely under Japan's rule in 1603. That's probably why the guy in the beginning says "we are beyond the edge of Japan".
The wolf is probably meant to be the grey wolf subspecies that was native to the area around Hokkaido but is extinct now. The wolf also ties into the culture of the Ainu people who are the native inhabitants of Hokkaido and the surrounding area. Wolves were revered in their culture and had a special status due to this.
The mountain in Yotei. The game’s namesake. It does look like Mt. Fuji a little. At least from pictures of Mt Fuji I seen.

Mount Yotei is apparently visually similar to Mount Fuji to the point it was also known as the Fuji of Ezo. Speaking on the shamisen, that looks like an awkward choice of instrument for parkour rolls and all that. One thing that sticks out to me with this trailer is Hokkaido looking a little too Japanese here. There was a Japanese presence, but that island was largely inhabited by the Ainu, who are notably absent here. Even the idea that the island was "frontier" is largely thanks to them, so them not getting any presence in the trailer is a bit of an odd choice to me. Maybe they'll show something later on.
Also, kinda bummed we don't get more of Jin's story.
Looking forward to this, but I hope they make a new game for Jin , maybe about Jin defending Lower Japan from the Mongols. The plot would be about his guilt for not being on the Island of Tsushima when the Mongols returned, and you could call it Ghost of Tsushima Risen or something because the Metaphorical Ghost of Tsushima is Haunting Jin (Eh? Eh? Eh.) Also THE HORSE BETTER NOT DIE

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe shamisens were imported into Japan through a port called Sakai. And her dual weilding makes sense given Miyamoto Musashi was alive and in his prime during this time. Muskets are also a cool detail given Japan was one of the biggest manufacturers of them in the 1600s. Overall, I'm excited. I have no reason to think Sucker Punch won't deliver again after how incredible Ghost of Tsushima was.

I mean you can love mythology but know next to nothing about the history, like knowing Norse mythology doesn’t tell you anything about the history of the Vikings, it might provide some measure of insight into the culture though.

Hey man keep up the good work! I have a suggestion for a future video. There's this awesome show on Crunchyroll named onyx equinox is based on Aztec/Mayan mythology would be awesome heard your thoughts on it.
This is a release trailer so I'm not surprised it's mostly cinematic.
I’d say at this point only gameplay and story and “finished” and they still need to do 30% and 40% of the rest of the work.
Also when the beginning says “beyond the edge of Japan.” it's because they reached Mount Yotei resides wasn't a part of Japan. But I think a part of the story will be Samurai beginning the their taking of the land.
Looking forward to this game. I honestly can’t wait to see this dev team tackle new environments and mechanics and continue to build on the ghost franchise. I sincerely hope it’s more FFVII Rebirth/GOW Ragnarok/Horizon Forbidden West in terms of building significantly upon existing systems so there’s familiarity with the combat and expanded stretching of the limits of the PS5 in terms of visual fidelity and extraordinary leaps forward like Ghost of Tsushima was as their flagship PS4 game.
I honestly can’t wait for this game, and if you’re trying to inject some political bent into the trailer, you’re probably a sweaty goober who desperately needs to touch grass. Art is going to be intrinsically political, and so are artists. You can enjoy the art or don’t. Crying about it isn’t going to make the artist change their vision for you.

So in 1603, the entirety of Japan was moving into a completely new era. The Tokugawa Shogunate (the military occupation) has unified Japan for the first time in a very long time, so Japan was all of a sudden completely controlled under a singular unified military force. It's an amazing period to set the game in

I get the reason people are mad about ac shadows. But this one? Its stupid, we had many great female MC's in the past. Some people claiming a female samurai didn't exist when they did, they were called Onna-Bugeisha.

People are mad about the main character being a woman because they were probably really exited about a second ghost of Tsushima, and after seeing Disney's terrible writing when it comes to women in their movies it makes them worry about the writing in Ghost of Yoteï
I'm not to sure about the female thing either but as soon as I see anything that isn't a strong white man I'm suspicious. just to many bridges burned with look strong black trans female with superpowers and is never wrong.
I have no problem playing as a female, but certain games just need a male character in my opinion. Time and place is a big deal. And I would be upset if they made Lara Croft or Samus a guy, so it isn't anything like that. Last of Us 2 did a great job going from a male lead to a female one. This game seems to be doing it just to do it though which is dumb. Only way it'll work out in my eyes is if it's the student of the Bow and Arrow guy that you have to chase around. She survived right?
And at the end with the wolf... was that a flute that caught both of their attention??? Because the tree they looked at looks like the tree Jin would do something at... like the hot spring or Haiku stuff you had to do in the first game.
Either way, I'm definitely going to give this game a try. I loved the first one. It and LoU2 both deserved Game of the Year.

It’s an entirely new story set 300 years after the previous game. It’s an origin story for an entirely different “ghost” character. Just be excited for a new story by a great developer.
i loved Ghost Of Tsushima, yeah there were a few things i raised my brow at. but i loved it overall. i'm worried about this not just because the VA is an unhinged bigot but because of both Sony's track record the last 2 years and the history of female lead media (games/movies/shows) so whilst i'm not yet ready to write it off like alot of people are (no judgment) i'm definitely going to be waiting for reviews to come in, but just seeing a character duel wielding i'm worried. now if that is a wakizashi and a katana instead of 2 katanas then great. otherwise..........
i am interested in how they've updated and improved the gameplay. 1 massive issue i had for GOW Raganrok was how much slower and clunkier the gameplay was so i hope in a souls like game like this we don't have the same issue.

You mean Nathan Drake? No one had a problem with him. 😂 Your logic doesn’t exactly hold up. The theme of these games is being a stealthy outlaw. Outlaws don’t exactly follow the rules so why is not being a male an issue. Jin had a female companion. She even taught him how to fight like a ghost and no one had a problem with that.

You _can_ be stealthy, but this isnt Assassin's Creed. And these developer's arent doing what they did with Last of Us, they are making her female just to do it. News flash, everything Jin did is equally as unrealistic and is in no way even half possible. But you clearly have no problems when it's Jin doing those unrealistic things that he can't do in that time and place, but suddenly it's a problem when it's a woman?
