New sub here. I’m fighting a losing battle against Serratia Marcescens, the pink “mold” (really bacteria), mostly in my bathroom, but also my dog’s water dish (which leads me to believe it’s also in other parts of my house, unseen). I’m experiencing intermittent & prolonged SEVERE respiratory distress, which both my doctor & my landlady dismiss as a result of my smoking. The onset is sudden (overnight), & it completely resolves itself just as suddenly, albeit 2-4 weeks later, so I am CERTAIN it’s not from cigarettes, as there is no change in my smoking habits before the onset of symptoms, & I show no sign of improvement when I (have no choice but to) stop smoking as soon as I’m unable to breathe. My dog is wheezing too. Whatever it is, it seems to just need to run its course. Removing myself from the environment (going to a hotel) once it’s taken hold does not help. And OF COURSE it always clears up before I can get an appointment to see my doctor! The cycle has been repeating itself for almost two YEARS now. I’m convinced it’s bacterial pneumonia from the Serratia Marcescens, but no one will take me seriously. Next time it happens, I’m just going to go to the ER & refusing to leave till they find the root cause. Meanwhile, I’m desperate to find the most effective way to kill this particular bacteria. I’ve been binge watching your videos for days & I notice the bacterial colonies in your petri dishes are predominantly yellow & white, never pink/orange, so it looks like you’re not plagued by the same bacteria as I am. Lucky you! Are you aware of any research on Serratia Marcescens? The most effective way to get rid of it? I’d offer to send you some swabs from my bathroom, or one of my dog’s discarded water bowls (I have to replace them weekly, as the bacteria starts to stain them in just 72-96hrs), but I don’t want to unleash this hellscape on you! I live in Southern California, so not EVEN a very damp/humid environment. My bathroom is not very well-ventilated, so I think that’s why the problem is more apparent in there. I need a solution, PLEASE?!? It’s absolutely terrifying to not be able to catch my breath. It comes on without warning & is SO BAD I think I’m going to die! Last time (6wks ago) I went through half of a 90-day rescue inhaler & a whole can of aviator’s oxygen in just two weeks! I had to get a mini-fridge for my bedroom because I can’t even walk the 20ft to my kitchen without resting on my couch midway for a half hour. Being completely bed-bound for up to a month at a time & unable to clean AT ALL is not helping me win the war. HELP! 🙏🏼
I did have Serratia Marcescens in one or my toilets. I did not make a video about it due to time etc.. BUT when I was doing a regular swab for a product, the Serratia Marcescens came up on my petri dish. SO I used Purell Professional Spray and swabbed again and it was gone. So if during a test, I get it again, I deep clean my toilet with it. This is the stuff I am talking about, although this video does not show the Serratia Marcescens. How Well Does Purell Professional Surface Disinfectant Remove Bacteria in My Home??! th-cam.com/video/G-nRD1IFQT8/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for what you do! I really enjoy learning from your videos and I just love your regional accent. I’m in Louisiana and we have an accent, too, but yours is better! Keep on the good fight against bacteria!! You’re awesome!!
Honestly, I am surprised you only got 10k+ 😮 you definetely deserve more and will be. One request though, could you try ultra violet sanitizing light machine? Mine is not selling from Amazon any more, always wonder it those equipments are working. I again appreciate your time and effort. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you for the kind words. I will add UV machine to my list. I am also curious about them... that might make a nice winter project. I need to save some money to purchase a variety of machines and test them!
Wow, it’s crazy that you jumped from 10K to 25K subscribers in 2 months! Maybe once you hit 10K, YT started promoting your videos in more people’s feeds!? Anyway, I’m grateful to have found your channel. I can learn which products are actually effective, and stop wasting money on ineffective products or using overly harsh products when I don’t need to. I am wondering if Simple Green is on your list of cleaners to test? I still have a big bottle of the concentrate to use up, but I want to see if it’s even worthwhile, or if it’s better to just move on. Thank you!
Each time I conduct a bacteria test it takes at a minimum 2 weeks. Time to allow home to get dirty, sample, growth, and often re-test to confirm results or in case a before section did not have enough bacteria to begin. If there is a lot of bacteria, I can start to see it grow by the 24 hour mark, usually by 48-72 hours I am able to take the photo and have results. Thanks for watching!
@@FieldOfFocus *Thank you for your reply!* I sincerely enjoy watching your videos, they are interesting and informative. I'm so glad I found your channel.
I'm a new subscriber, I started watching your videos yesterday and I've almost seen them all!!! Now I can choose my products better, could you tester cleaners for fruits and vegetables? I am from Canada but here we have few options for these products for fruits and vegetables and they don't even indicate that they eliminate bacteria 😢
??? Does antibacterial soap work? I heard it wasn't really good for people to use because it destroys both good bacteria as well as bad bacteria on your skin. Thanks

*I would be very interested in seeing how you incubate the petri dishes* How long does it take for the final results?
