Not only did he showcase one of the best Conqueror’s Haki feats but he also squared and beat down a younger former admiral and even after getting seriously wounded by Shiryu, he still caused serious damage back to Shiryu just by slamming him into the ground. Pretty sure he could’ve killed Akainu back then if he wanted to.
If anything, it just goes to show he can indeed fight and hurt admirals even at old age, but actually beating them is a whole different story. We've seen how long these yns last in fights, this the same bro that fought for 10 days.
It's important to remember that despite Garp not influencing all his children into the marines, they're still good people who aspire to change the world for the better. They just happened to be on a different path, I think a part of Garp is proud of the men they've become. The Marines are also a needed system for the future of the world, the world doesn't need the world government but it does need the Marines.

I think the flashbacks go to show that even after most of his family went down different paths, he always had Aokiji with him. You can see in the flashbacks that Garp had been with Aokiji for a long time due to how much he aged after each backstory. Aokiji really was his brightest pupil until Koby💯

Goku can use them both at the same time or separately or use all 3 at the same time. It’s similar to one piece in that way.
