Fantastic content bro. Your teaching style is clear and concise, which I really appreciate and your luts look *chef’s kiss*. Ima head over to your page and buy your lut pack soon as I’m done with this comment. Just a couple of questions. As a Premiere user, I tend to use an adjustment layer on top of my clips for grading with the Lumetri Color effect. Would stacking Lumetris on the adjustment layer - similar to how you’re using nodes to achieve correction, then s curve, then luts - work the same, or would I need to add separate adjustment layers in Premiere for each step of the process, do you happen to know? I’m thinking it’s likely the same either way, and maybe you don’t have a Premiere background, but I thought I’d ask. My second question has to do with Cinestyle. I installed it on both my M50 and 6D, but haven’t graded with it yet. Typically I’ve just made my own picture profile by reducing contrast, sharpness, etc. But I just watched a different video by a creator whose name escapes me at the moment who seems pretty experienced and he was saying that in his experience Cinestyle falls apart in the grade and introduced noise and artifacts. He recommended a picture profile called Filmkit Flat - he doesn’t make it or benefit from the sale of it. My question is this: Have you used filmkit flat? Have you experienced the issues with Cinestyle on the M50 that the aforementioned TH-camr was complaining about? He showed some pretty convincing examples in his vid, and he’s grading in Premiere I believe, but you’re getting great results in Davinci with Cinestyle. Have you run into any of the issues he’s talking about or had any experience with the filmkit flat picture profile? Sorry for the lengthy comment. I don’t usually ask these kind of in depth questions as I’ve been shooting for a long while, but I’ve got a gig coming up and it’s my first one using the M50 as my main cam and thought I’d see if you had any thoughts on the matter. Okay, off to purchase your lut pack. Great work dude!
Thanks for the kind comments! I am glad the video helped. I have never used premier but if it is similar to resolve then I would prefer to have control separately over each adjustment. Especially the gain/opacity. So for example I may like the curve settings exactly how they are but I just want to tone down the overall intensity while keeping the same exact curve. For that I would need it on its own adjustment layer / node etc. Regarding filmkit flat I have never used it but cinestyle was developed by technicolor and personally I like it a lot. It does tend to increase noise in the shadows as would any flat profile but you can crush or lift the blacks to offset the noise. The m50 footage is especially prone to noise in the shadows but it mostly happens when your exposure isn't the best. If you expose perfectly, and by perfectly I mean just slightly over exposed then cinestyle and m50 footage looks wonderful in my opinion. Hope that helps.
Thanks! You just gotta play around with it for a while until you get what you are looking for. It might seem complicated at first but gets easier the more you do it.
@@FulaanCreative got a question as well. Currently looking for a prime lense for my Canon EOS M50 mark ii and I am not quite sure what I should go for. Been leaning towards the Sigma 35mm, would you recommend that?

Bro I really appreciate your guidance on getting the most out of the m50. Am looking to shoot some car videos videos for a dealership’s social media can you recommend a lens?
Q: Colour Grading & R10: Dear Fulaan, as always great stuff here. Thanx for inspiration. When shooting with R10 and CLOG3 and/or Cinestyle what would be the 'native ISO' for the R10? 800 as R7 or 400? Thanx for any hint on that matter.
If I had to do a bunch of grading I would but in my case most of my videos are all shot in the same lighting conditions so I just color the log footage w/ out color space transforms.
Hey Fulaan, great channel. I appreciate your vids. It has help me so far. Do you have any pointers for Fitness video recordings. I records myself on a m50 in gyms. I find it challenging to get the right look. I have a M50 and sigma 16mm. What do you suggest to set my camera for recording. The gym lights are a bit yellow/red. Thanks
Thanks! The main factors would be finding a place where there is good lighting and second would be making sure the white balance is set properly. I have a video about the settings Incase you haven't already seen it you may want to check that out as well. Peace.
Hello, thank you for this tutorials it's very helpful. Did you try to color grade Canon R10, it has 10bit should be better especially with something like Fuji Eterna Lut or some Films Lut ?
The best on TH-cam make videos about things that people don’t even know about to even ask a question in the first place. This video explained a lot about stuff that I hadn’t even thought about. Fantastic content. Thank you Quick recommendation question. If you were to shoot a music performance for a music video (well lit) which lens would you choose with the Canon M50?
Thanks Ashley! I don't shoot music videos so I wouldn't know about that but my favorite lens for the m50 is still the sigma 18-35. You need a $30 adapter from comlite to use it but for me it's better than all the native lenses for the m50.
@@FulaanCreative Thanks mate. I got your LUT pack to try out. I have Final Cut Pro so I’ll try and match what you do with Da Vinci. I tried to download it but it always crashes my computer for some reason. So when you say to shoot with the exposure higher than normal. You’re talking about the ISO setting right? So if 200 is clear, raise it to about 220 or something like that? Just wanted to clarify as I’m a beginner.
@@ashleyevans424 awesome! Thanks for the support! So there are 3 things that effect the exposure. ISO is one of them. The other 2 are aperture and shutter speed. Once you see the image on the screen look perfect to your eyes in terms of brightness then you would bump it up 1 notch or 2 brighter and one way you could do that is using ISO.
I also used to use lumafusion. I used to grade by adjusting the shadows, highlights and mids then applying contrast, saturation and a lut. At the moment there is no waveform so you have to eyeball it which can still be ok.
The principal is the same. Just give it a shot on premiere. I think you can figure it out pretty quick. I never tried premier but from what I hear I probably need an m1 mac before attempting it.
Nice Thanks! I have an Eos50 mark ii as well - when I want to use the FX Color Space Transform, for Input Color Space I know it can shoot in sRGB or Adobe RGB - but what do I need to choose for Input Gamma?
Thanks Daniel. To be honest i have no idea. İ try to keep it simple. I just shoot in cinestyle, do some color correction and add a LUT and that's really about it. I never used the color space transform feature.
I do appreciate those slow shutter speed motion trail photos although I don't do too much photography myself. As for the beard; sometimes I may tame it but I also like the natural flow of the Lion mane look!
@@FulaanCreative my search continues. I'm just starting to get 3-4 inches on my beard. and I'm starting to think a brush and oil aren't enough for the snags. I was just looking for tips lol
@@aristothethrone9032 My beard pretty much stays knappy most of the time. I might brush it every 2 or 3 days. The best brush for my beard is the brushes for ladies hair that have the bristles real spread out, like 1 bristle every half an inch or so. I just brush straight through any knots and knaps and I'm good. I shampoo that bad boy down every shower though. Haha! Hope that helps!
My laptop probably won't run premier too well. I may look into it in the future although even then I would probably still color grade in resolve an then edit in premier.
I have a question Fulaan. so I am planning on buying a camera, but I have no idea what photo editing software to use. I see that Adobe charges per month for using the program. Is there software that you could recommend?
There are a few free ones but they don't really compare to Lightroom. Especially in ease of use. The main ones are called dark table, gimp editor and raw therapy if I remember correctly.
If you are talking about video editors than the best one is Davinci resolve, it's free. There is also one called filmora intended for beginners but I've never used it so can't say how it is.
Man this is great. I’d love more editing tutorials if you’re able. Editing is far more intense that I could have imagined, lol. The more I get into making videos the more I realize I’ve got no idea about what I’m doing 😂
@@FulaanCreative I’m at a point where I’m starting to feel more confident using my camera, your videos have helped a lot, some I’ve watched multiple times.
Why aren't you putting in the LUT at the end, and then do the color corrections on the other nodes? That way you see how each change impacts the final result.
I prefer it this way because I can reach a look that I'm happy with without any LUT. Then when I apply the LUT I just tone it down until it looks more natural. If I want to use a different LUT I can just change the LUT. If I do it the other way I may have to go and change my corrections every time I change the LUT. Both would work though just a matter of workflow and preference.
Here's a little secret. All the videos on this channel that are titled with Canon M50 will pretty much apply exactly the same to any Canon Camera. Especially the R and RP.

@@FulaanCreative Okay I’ve got it. Just needed clarity. Thanks man your videos are as good as any I’ve seen.
@@ashleyevans424 Thanks Ashley!
Thank you so much for this video!!! ❤
You are welcome Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video. I use Lumafusion myself and I have no idea how to color grade because it has no waveform
I also used to use lumafusion. I used to grade by adjusting the shadows, highlights and mids then applying contrast, saturation and a lut. At the moment there is no waveform so you have to eyeball it which can still be ok.
@@FulaanCreative Thank you for the reply! I will give it a try again. Do you always use Cinestyle as your flat picture profile?
@@itspardi When shooting on the m50 I pretty much always use cinestlye. If I am shooting on the eos R I will use c-log.
Amazing ✨
Thanks!
Only wish you had this tutorial for Premiere.
I never used the color space transform feature.
can we get some stylized light trail photo tips for the m50. something that's easy to remember. also, comb or brush for the beard?
Nice tutorial...

You’re funny bro love this video 😂👍🏼
Thanks Joel!
Hey will your LUT packs work with LumaFusion ? Thanks!
Hello. Yes they do. You are welcome.
Awesome 🎉

@@FulaanCreative Recently bought an M50, what lens would u recommend I get first... I want to start doing portraits and landscape photography
I love the sigma 18--35. Still my favorite aps-c lens.
@@FulaanCreative thanks
very nice, video !
Thank you very much!
Mmm its quite different with premier pro I think (the nodes and etc), it would great if you can do the same video for premier pro
Fulaan does davinci resolve have a special effect that let's day turn into night?
I don't think so but you would do that sort of thing using color corrections/grading and LUTs
thx, also do you know where to get a proper hdmi cord for the m50? ive been looking but cant find any @@FulaanCreative
A question
Dose the Canon RP produce 8 bit footage like the Canon M50 ??
Yes
Great video
Thanks!
Man this is great. I’d love more editing tutorials if you’re able. Editing is far more intense that I could have imagined, lol. The more I get into making videos the more I realize I’ve got no idea about what I’m doing 😂
Thanks man! Yes I will try to make more videos about the editing process. Like most things you just need to do it a few times and it becomes easier.
@@FulaanCreative I’m at a point where I’m starting to feel more confident using my camera, your videos have helped a lot, some I’ve watched multiple times.
I'm glad to hear that. Hopefully I will have many more videos with helpful content. We can all learn and grow together.
Cool way to present a tutorial video. I'm still wondering why this channel still only has 6k subs, should've been more with this video alone
Thanks Moonvain! I appreciate that.
Do you still offer the 2 free luts and cinestyle? I don’t see it on your website. Thanks

Please help me I cannot play my 10bit HDR PQ video on my laptop from canon r10 please tell me a solution
You laptop might not support the format.
@@FulaanCreative thanks for the fast reply love your videos
Why aren't you putting in the LUT at the end, and then do the color corrections on the other nodes? That way you see how each change impacts the final result.
I prefer it this way because I can reach a look that I'm happy with without any LUT. Then when I apply the LUT I just tone it down until it looks more natural. If I want to use a different LUT I can just change the LUT. If I do it the other way I may have to go and change my corrections every time I change the LUT. Both would work though just a matter of workflow and preference.
How do color grading or best settings for cannon rp
Here's a little secret. All the videos on this channel that are titled with Canon M50 will pretty much apply exactly the same to any Canon Camera. Especially the R and RP.
I have a question would the color theory apply to all brand cameras?
Yes, the stuff in this video is basic and can be used for pretty much any footage from most cameras.
