I bought this NH34 version of this watch during the 11/11 sale for $114 USD. I previously had the old version with the Pearl movement which was junk. I'm probably done with Pagani but my copy has only a slightly light bezel action which is acceptable, but does have the gritty crown. I need to use dental floss on the crown threads again to smooth it. The lume on mine initially fades quickly like on most watches but is still readable after 5 or 6 hours at night. The Seiko movement is the star though as this one runs very accurately. This watch does wear nicely but I'm done with Pagani and willing to pay the higher price for San Martin level QC. Thanks again for the review.
I hear ya Larry! Disappointing to hear about the bezel action because I have other pagani wirh the same case and bezel and the action on them is good, mine is also too loose. Regarding San martin check out my latest video and comment thread on it. San martin isn’t perfect either when it comes to qc and the customer service is deplorable if you do have an issue I’m doing a follow up video about it and their response to my video
@MirrlyonTime the bezel on my Pagani is only slightly loose but still acceptable. I have several San Martin watches and all are excellent, but perfect, but easy better than any Seiko I have.
Thanks Simon. Too bad they don’t settle up with some of their other quirks and I was shocked to see this went up to 250 dollars or so, a jump way up since the sale
I am really enjoying this one and expected to have minor things, just wish pagani would step up their game and solve all these minor things and they would have a real winning streak
My only issue in PD is sharp edges on jubilee on batgirl, so i bought batman oyster, great no issue at all, so don't hesitate to buy PD worth it for less than $100 just for daily use. 👍👍👍
I have been paying attention to alot of these. Im a novice and More of an Eco Drive Wearer. I am looking into these for modding and time burning. thanks for the thorough review. PD is lower than when you recorded the video, I think its due to competition from the other homage makers.
@@jesuscorrea5513 would be a great watch to fidget with for sure as you wouldn’t overly mind mistakes on a watch like this. Eco drives are awesome! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t done so, God bless m8!
Hi Chris, thanks for another great review. I appreciate your honesty and bringing up both the pros and the cons. You’re dead right about the clasp…those internal micro adjustments are the worst!
Yeah by the naked eye they are getting a little better but still disappointing over all, they seem to be doing this neat trick of putting more lume on the hour markers/indices then they do the hour and minute hand. I mean, come on, put the more in the more important stuff if you are gunna do anything right lol
Honestly I hope Steeldive decide to manufacture a Seiko SKX GMT homage. Pagani comes with several compromises as Lumme and bracelet issues as you show us. I recently bought a PD Omega Speedmaster homage, but the bracelet it came with was useless because it had not enough links to remove, so it was hopeless with my 6,5 inch wrist. This kind of QC issues are quite difficult to understand with this quite well established brand.
I have had a total of three of these pass through my hands (I had to send two back because they had the Chinese movement and were faulty). I'd say the biggest problem with them is the buffing/brushing of the case. All three of them were brushed badly in the lug areas. It makes the lugs look huge and strangley shaped, because they catch the light in a weird way. I have tried to take photos and videos, but I can't get the effect to show up in them, so maybe everyone else's PD GMTs look the same. I disagree with you about the lume. I know its not as good as on many other watches, but it is adequate. The thing nobody seems to take into account is night vision. Once your eyes are accustomed to the dark, you don't necessarily want really bright lume. The lume on my PD is sufficient to read the time in the middle of the night without being uncomfortable to look at.
I have had multiple paganis. Haven’t had an issue with the finishing except perhaps on one where the brushing was sloppy, but the lume isn’t great on any of them, some of the newer ones are approaching ok lume but otherwise it’s a waste of time, a good number of them don’t last 5 min on a time lapse video and that is simply not good. This one has the Seiko movement which is nice, the Chinese movement gmt has a bit of a glitch in the hands skipping when setting but I figured out a hack for that, all of the ones with Chinese movements are just fine (that I own) but mind you I don’t wear them regularly enough to assess the overall reliability of the movement
@@MirrlyonTime One of the ones I had to return had a broken hacking function (just didn't hack) and the other was over 2 minutes per day fast. I have heard that these movements aren't regulated from the factory, so the second one probably wasn't defective per se, just in need of regulation)I didn't have a timegrapher at the time, so I decided not to mess with it. I still have a Pepsi, which is fine apart from the weird brushing, and I just ordered a Batman. Hopefully this one has a good movement. The lume on my Pepsi is fine. Maybe it's just different batches?
@@thepenultimateninja5797 I have no doubt you are correct re the movement and the lume, it's hit and miss with pagani, sometimes you get one that has decent enough lume, sometimes you don't. @@MirrlyonTime Yeah, one of the things you lose at this price point is quality control, so you kind of have to do the QC yourself. I got a PD-1662 Pepsi with a chinese (DG3804 GMT?), and it does not work any more-the stem started feeling rough, and now it only runs for a few seconds, and the stem does nothing-can't set the time or even screw it down all the way. Hoping the hands from the old one might fit, and the dial can be fitted easily. Any advice or help on my project will be appreciated.
Well….i haven’t done any modding so I have no idea what to tell you in that regard nothing overly helpful. I’m wearing my pagani Pepsi with the Chinese movement, and it’s still running good. Not a daily wear though
