I enjoy you covering all sorts of vehicles. This kind of review and car is more interesting to me than some supercar I'll never even see on the roads
Cheers 👍
The interior design is one of the best I've seen. Looks like somewhere you'd want to spend time, even without the need to drive anywhere.
Indeed 👍
I love the steering wheel. It feels really nice and easy when driving. It also don't obstruct the screen which is huge and cleverly located just between the top of the wheel and the bottom of the front screen, utilising the full visual horizon. + Even Tesla Model X use a smaller square wheel. This is however more a of a squarish circle. Very nicely done by Peugeot.
Peugeot has definitely come a long way, I remember owning the MK1 5008 with 1.6 Hdi, I felt it was the future back then with its massive dashboard and design, fast forward 2024 and it's absolutely amazing how they've evolved.
Love my e2008, 3+ yrs old now and running at an efficiency of 4 after a big motorway drive upto Manchester!
Whats the range of the car?
On another note I do like this car for a larger family, looks excellent. As a now middle aged man those comfy looking seats are very appealing! It's a decent sized boot even in 7 seat mode.
I totally agree!
i have a 23 5008 diesel and its my second one and i love that but looking at that its nice but its got a 60/40 split seats which in mine i have individual seats and the seats are equal so whose going to get that short straw? all im saying is something shoud not be changed. also one less isofix just saying. ps i do love the small steering wheel and the looking over the top
That little shield on the wing would be a million pound extra on a Ferrari.
Yeah probably 😂
It's a very attractive proposition for me. Thanks for the review.
My pleasure!
Evening all! Hope everyone is doing well and have a great week.
You too!
The LR could be my next car
Great review from a petrol ped for an EV!
Thanks!
You talked about the huge boot space available, but didn't show it 😕 and can you fold both back rows down flat? (And I'm interested in really flat, unlike my X3 that folds but not to properly flat 😢😢)
This is a brand I wish was in the states. But it’s not to my knowledge. Great review Sir Pete!
They are French so I doubt it 😂
I think it looks better than the 3008, it definitely needs the panoramic roof, you get used to the small steering wheel pretty quickly and although expensive is definitely cheaper than the EV9 and particularly the new Volvo EX90. I’d also think the mild hybrid with a 1.2 petrol would be pretty sluggish particularly full laden!
To be fair, having owned a few BEVs I never hypermile any of my cars. I drive BEVs normally (like you) and get similar efficiency results. I view this as realistic rather than "driving miss daisy" optimistic.
Cheers 👍
dont need 7 seats, hell, rarely need 2 haha, and not a peugeot fan that much, dislike the tiny steering wheel, so my front runner for next EV lease which i need to order next week or 2 is still the Renault scenic, never owned a renault either, but gets great reviews (including from yourself) so drove one and instantly bonded with its controls, comfort and drive feel
If you are a smaller person does the display reduce the forward vision? O/ a it looks a good car but yes it needs a pan roof.
You can raise the seat to reduce that problem 👍
Great review it will be very interesting to see what else is built on the Stellantis STLA-M platform.
It’s looks lovely ☺️ car to drive and nice work with your video 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thank you 🤗
That central gear shifter sorts one of the worst problems the "PSA" stellantis EVs have, half the central console area taken up by what is in effect a forwards / backwards switch pretending to be a gear lever
I'm waiting for the Kia EV5 to come out, but will definitely be putting this up against it when my local dealership begins test drives. Albeit I will never need 7 seats and the 3008 is not practical for my needs.
Hi Petrol Ped, sorry to be the one who points it out... Slight typo in the thumbnail image...
👍
Hello Peter…so it is a very useful, comfortable and practical that quietly does everything well. It is too big for me but will be a great choice for families and I hope it sells well to them. Meanwhile…..after watching Raz or RBR, you HAVE to test a 2025 Audi E-Tron RS….that is much further up your street! 😃😃😃😃 Richard
Will do 👍
Nice car! Did you take a dive with the bike? Knees seem damaged in the 'back seat' scene. Drive safe!!
Good spot. Did it playing padel 😂
Nice balanced review, quite like this car. Not sure about looking over the steering wheel though. Can you see the dash with no cutoff?
Nearly 😜
Depends entirely on your personal seating position and steering wheel position. I had a 508SW with the small wheel and it took me a while to find the ideal seat/steering setup but once I did I found the car a real joy to drive. The small wheel really wasn't an issue but you MUST try it for yourself and allow enough time to at least TRY to find a setup that works for you.
I particularly like the Interior design, I would definitely recommend It for Families who want a very stylish SUV
Sorry to be picky Pete but cars do not have “headrests”, they are head restraints. You are not the only tester who makes this mistake; by the way I am an automotive design engineer.
Old habits die hard 😂
Would you choose the GT or allure?
GT
Love it but bit big for me to be honest great review as always ped loving you doing more affordable cars too👍👏👏👏
Thanks! Will do!
I just don't get why the electric versions are still 10,000 more when battery costs have reduced dramatically over the past 5 years. At most it's a couple of grand more to make than a HEV. Pure profiteering by Stelantis.
Development costs probably, as well as loss of maintenance profits.
But youre comparin a 130hp to 210 hp car…
Coming to a French Airport as a taxi near you soon?
😂😂😂
Great review Pete,, agree the steering wheels are terrible to read the info
Thanks 👍
Hi Ped
Do not need 7 seats, and not ready to EV. Sorry mate not for me. However applaud you for covering the market.😉
Fair enough!
And here we have some delicious food for the algorithm ;-)
The build quality on this car looks very good, which seems to be a common feature of most Stellantis offerings.
Trouble is the long range and dual motor won’t have the loading weight as is seen with most other EV 7 seaters. This one actually carries 690kg where as some others like the Merc EQB or the Kia EV9 etc only carry between 380-550kg which is pointless in a 7 seater especially in this day and age of bigger and taller people.
Hi, from FL.
Hi 👋
From the outside I think the 3008 is the better looking design all round, but I like the look of the inside of this one. 3.2 miles per kWh isn't really going to set the world in fire with a 70 something KW battery though. C+ could do better if it tried.
How much for the electric version? I thought you said over 50k for a minute!
I did 👍
Obviously it will be over £50k, the equivalent Kia is £70k
Starting at £48.550 14:43
Hi PP, you said at one point in this video that in eco mode, the range has gone up to 327 miles with 20% of battery left. Is that really the case Peter ? ...That really seems a heck of a lot of range with very little battery power left. Makes me wonder what the range would be in eco mode with 100% of battery power ?
No I said 98% 👍
@PetrolPed I watched that part in your video again, this time with subtitles turned on and the subtitles back me up with you saying 20% not 98%, play that bit of the video yourself Peter, this time with subtitles turned on.? 👍
Looks great 😊 does it tow a trailer otherwise where would 7 passengers get their luggage for a week away 😅
Roof box 👍
@PetrolPed Would be interesting to see how the weight of 7 people, roofbox and their luggage affects the efficiency though? This type of car isn't designed to be driven with just a driver on board so the efficiency claimed will almost certainly be unachievable under "real use" conditions. Not a particular complaint against this car but merely an observation.
In a 2024 BEV, they still use an 'Engine' Start/Stop button. Shoddy.
The 2nd row seats don't look too comfortable. Your legs were quite up which means there is not enough support for their bottom part. It looked a bit like you would sit on the loo 😅
Also, 73 kWh for such a big car is a joke imho.
It’s just that I have very long legs 👍
@@PetrolPed I understand but even people with 190cm should feel comfortable enough in 2nd row. This is a common issue with most of the electric cars. Among the e-SUVs I found Skoda Enyac's 2nd row to be one of the most comfortable. They simply made this part of the seat a bit higher and longer. Simple trick did the job.
Ah the Cotswold water park?

Looks like a nice car, but they're still using the piano black gloss plastic, yuk. Certainly not a fan of the wheel... But apart from those things looks impressive.
Hi all
Hi 👋
Hi Ped, very fair unbiased review from you as usual. Hate that steering wheel! Don’t know where they think the average Joe is going to get the money from to buy cars a this price point! I can see a lot of smoky old ICE cars around from the foreseeable for sure.
My
I’ve had two 3008’s a 1.5 diesel and a 1.6 hybrid i had a 24hr test drive in the new 3008 self charging hybrid which I loved until they gave me the figures my current hybrid has lost 13.5k in 16 months I got up and walked from the dealer I expected a drop in value but all the dealer did was take the money they had given me discount on the new car and then took it straight off what they offered me a px - not impressed with peugeot
It’s not just Peugeot that do it, BMW did it to me a few years ago !
I cannot but think this is a bit of a niche car. A seven seat capacity might be a nice to have for some families but there is a big price to pay and the car is large and heavy. And what is the obsession with range? I don’t even like the styling which is not a match on the Renault Scenic.
looks great but sadly out of my reach but in 2 years time it will be half the value if your lucky.
Fingers crossed!
It is a big lump of a car with in my opinion some very small engines which I think may struggle with all seats filled with passengers. There are some design features I really like one being the claw like DRL's but like you I am not a fan of the wheels. If they can get a range anywhere near the figures quoted for the range extender model it could be a game changer but I would like to see it tested on a very cold Scottish winter drive and charge.
The ICE versions are hybrids, not range extenders. The engine is still connected to the wheels.
*parallelogram (sorry, petrolpedant here)
Great review btw - nice to see a review by a full size human! For a family of 5 with 3 of us over 6 foot, this looks like a good option
Although every rhombus is a parallelogram, not every parallelogram is a rhombus. As both of them have four sides, both the rhombus and the parallelogram are classified as quadrilaterals. A parallelogram's opposite faces are parallel, making the figure's opposite angles equal.
@@PetrolPedYou been Googling that answer by chance 😅
Yes not so cheap when except for the base model luxury Tax to pay from next year £600 a year to tax woopee doo
Have a look at Piston Pundits showing how EVs are facing more and more restructions due to the fires risks of these dirty dangerous vehicles
EV fire risk is actually less than a petrol ICE car 🤷♂️
Peugeot do make some attractive cars, however, the truck is,buy it 6; months old, then it's a good car for much less money, but not a hope in hell of me getting an EV, biggest con in motoring history. 👍
That’s what I have just done. Got the exact spec Renault Megane Etech, in the expensive colour scheme. 7 months old, 5000 miles from dealer at 46% less than RRP. Happy days, and wonderful to drive.
@@gordonmackenzie4512 excellent 👌👍
What really spoils it for me is that stupid steering wheel, I test drove the e208 & hated it, apart from that awful interior getting it up to 60 mph & it just ran out of puff. In the end I settled for an MG5 & never looked back.
It’s so expensive. You can’t buy a Kodiaq for this much money, because they’re all much cheaper and have astonishing mpg in diesel form….
It's not often that I disagree with you pete but i am this time this car is absolutely hideous!!🤮 And the only thing I like is the interior including the dash but I do agree with you about that ridiculous steering wheel utter madness especially if you have to jack up the seat so far just to see over the top of it unless you tall like yourself!! Nah Peugeot's in recent years do nothing whatsoever for me!!😬🙄 Great review as ever tho pete!!👌🏻👍🏻
And biblical depreciation 😂😂
Isn't it called "fifty oh eight"?
Err no 😜😂
@@PetrolPed when I bought a 1007 all those years ago, the dealer insisted it was a ten oh seven because you couldn’t call it a one double oh seven without getting sued by the bond franchise.
@@jimswannack6309 He had been drinking all morning.
Not a fan of any ev's sorry not for me
Hot fresh video... Hello everyone
I think Peugeot is losing its design line, again...
Still a boring ev 😂 put a diesel engine in it and it would be awesome!
No not another ev
Yep 👍
😢
Get used to it, it’s the future!
Looks rubbish to be honest
This channel used to be good.
Why don’t you think it is now ?
