I haven't seen all of this video, but I want to share a pinning tip I have. When starting a piece I only pin from the back. That way, when I'm smoothing my layout, etc or invisible stitching pieces down, I don't have pokes, (yeah!) and I don't catch my threads on the pins. It's worth it for me, as I get such sore hands and fingers doing slow-stitch. Now, back to the regularly scheduled program.

Happy birthday on the 29th! I’ve been trying to put a few pieces together to imitate the Magnolia Pearl style. I figured I could have them ready to add to an appropriate garment. Will you be sewing yours right to the pink jacket, or will some be done separately then added?
