Thanks Emi, great overview and really nice to see the new features being added based on user feedback. I can't wait to see some videos of the bird in action / get the keys to her myself!
It's been a few years since I've lived in the FS world, I was on FSX back then. Just back into it and finding my way around MSFS and PMDG sure has come a long way since those days of FSX. I'm looking forward to this coming out, though it's going to take a little bit of a learning curve to get back into it
Thanks for pushing the feature where the tablet can be placed above the CDU!!! Although I have head tracking, it was always annoying to go back and forth between those 2.
Great showcase as usual Emi! In my most recent video dissecting the trailer, I also managed to find the automatic cruise options that were shown on the UFT. This includes the ability to speed up the sim rate, have automatic step climbs (which can be very handy for long-haul flying) and ofc pause at TOD features. Just thought I’d mention it here as supplementary info for those interested in the UFT even more :)
To be honest, I think this should have been the version 1.0, the first one to be released. The EFB on the 737 is clearly lacking compared to other more modern EFBs. But it's great to see PMDG is moving in the right direction. One thing I'd like to be implemented is the possibility to change units (kg/lbs mostly) and the screen brigthness in any page, without having to go into the settings tab of the tablet. Just a small QoL improvement but still. The *thing* looks a bit weird but I think I like it, I'll get used to it and it'll be great to read data from the tablet when inserting them into the FMC without having to swap view all the time.
Exactly, the 737 EFB has little utility for me, I even disabled it altogether to have a better view from the window. They still need to make the EFB manage the customization settings of the aircraft (those where you have to go 15-20 pages on the FMC to set the aircraft options)
Certainly impressive hopefully it will negate most of GSX and I just have use aerosoft pushback. Definitely significantly more features than I was expecting. Really looking forward to the release next week hopefully
This is indeed a lot of good stuff that makes me very happy! 🎉 I still hope someone will develope some kind of Vpilot interface for the tablet. This would make my VR parts of the flight so much more imersive 😅 Thanks for the update CAP!
I hope the GSX integration is more like the Fenix A320/GSX integration. Click on button and GSX generally just works. It seems buggy as hell on the 737 and not able to do multiple things at once. I hope the need for GSX goes away with 2024.
All this stuff involved in operating this aircraft, but no flight crew sounds i'll bet. The one thing which would be the cherry on top and truly make it a complete experience.
The automated turnaround is crazyyyy this is something I've always found a bit off about flight sim planes, even very well-made ones. A lot of manual button pushing to do turnarounds, when as a real pilot you're probably not paying too much attention to any of those things. To do proper turnarounds I'd ideally like everything as automated as possible. I guess Fenix does a good job with this, but I'd still prefer a bit less attention to ground handling when I go fly. The only issue with that is how long they are when done realistically lol... the "short" turnaround being 55 minutes? Don't know if I have time to sit around for 55 minutes haha. But in any case this is a cool feature
I never cared about the ground services options that were included with the PMDG 737. The ground vehicles were not that great model or texture wise in my opinion. Are these vehicles the same or improved? I like the screenshot where they are white with small PMDG logos.
A feature I wish we had would be the ability to connect jetways to the L2 door similar to how the headwind A330 did it. Im not sure how hard it is to implement but I think it would make ground operations that much more realistic
I think it would be perfect, if >absolutely everything< regarding configuration (like company specific things) would be available on the tablet instead of the FMC. In my opinion the FMC should only be an FMC. Regardless, all the things you showed here are some huge steps forward and very much appreciated.
Thanks for the upload. These features are great, but personally I want to see how good the ACARS really is. PMDG aircrafts seem to be too "disconnected" from the Airline. A robust ACARS will be a game changer. Fenix comes close to it. Looking forward to your next video
Hopefully this will be added to the 737s as well. I really miss this as the 777 does not have as many turnarounds, nice features! I think people noticed the weather radar, even if it's not perfect is better then not having it. If this is better than the 737 , which for more is still one of the most realistic and fun add-ons for MSFS, 777 will be a huge sucess!
It's miles ahead of the 737! The weather "radar" though... if you have the slightest idea of how to work with a real weather radar, it's completly useless. Imagine flying in a dark night, you can't see anything. You're at FL370, the radar shows you a large red return in front of you. You'd immediately deviate around it. But in MSFS, that red area might as well just be at 1000AGL and have nothing, absolultely nothing to do with you.
@@A330Driver tks for the reply, got it! Hope they fix in the FS2024 as probably they wont do that soon on this version.... probably radar tilt also cannot work at all...
Hi Emi, thanks again for the preview! Since I love to use a tablet in real life for the efb, will pmdg implement a web version (like in the fenix) any time soon?
Hello Emanuel and thanks for the interesting Video, only one question, do you know how good and easy the Simbrief integration of flightplans in the 777 is? (In the FCU, that the Pilot dont have to enter the whole flightolan by hand).

Are you sure you don't confuse wing- and landing lights? Wing lights during daytime is a complete waste of resources. You're only wearing out your lights and causing maintenance cost. It won't improve your visibility to others in any way and will do absolutely nothing for yourself.

At @6:17 you mention the agreement with Boeing doesn't allow the slide deployment to be modeled, and it reminds me of another channel "Stig Aviation", who is a mechanic for American Airlines and works on the 777, and he always states there are no secrets whatsoever and he can show everything. These are just thoughts, I know you're both right in different ways. Like how racing sim games can't model crash damage on a Ferrari. I do want this to release on 6/25, but the 6/30 date works better for me as I start a 2 week vacation 7/1!
I doubt a mechanic at an airline would have any agreement with Boeing though. You buy the plane, it's yours. There's no "You can only show this in good light" in a purchase contract.
Excellent explanation as always. I'm curious how long it'll take PMDG to incorporate these changes into the 73 line. I have to imagine their dev team has shifted at least some resources to the 73 by now.
Nah they will shift some resources, but they will likely be keeping some back on the 777 to monitor the release. But as they have maintained publically this is the PMDG UFT, keyword 'universal', so all these features will be backported to the 737
Great video emi, This plane will just be amazing, I am curious though will the amazing features (I.e universal flight tablet) of the 777 eventually added to the 737
Most of the features are already included in the MCDU on the PMDG 737. The only new feature I wanted was an improved airport navigation system to aid taxiing to runways and gates. This simple feature is standard in the basic 747 MCDU. It's all faffing around the edges IMHO. The built-in EFB is pretty much obsolete now, with many airlines actually using iPad’s (or similar tablets). There are many benefits to using an external device as opposed to a built-in one.
@@DanielDuhon I could agree with you but still something EFB cool to have since all 777s still use it!
