    Just a comment on the rotation rate (777 TRI). You correctly state (as does the FCTM) the 2 to 2.5 degree rotation rate. You have however omitted the sentence “rate being lowest on longer airplanes”. Therefore, the rotation rate for the 300 should be close to 2 degrees per second and 2.5 degrees per second for the 200.
    Edited to add: Nice video! Very well explained

      Thank you! I left this part out intentionally since I didn't want to overcomplicate things for flight simmers. I think in simming it's just best to use one marker on the ADI per second, which equals 2.5°. That's easy to remember and easy to focus on since most simmers don't have the PFD in its original size in front of them.

      @bernardolhgc 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The most important statement from the FCTM is actually to NOT adjust takeoff speeds or control forces to compensate for increased body length. Liftoff attitude should be achieved within 4 seconds and the rate as correctly stated will vary between 2 and 2.5 degrees. The 777-300ER with semi-levered gear liftoff attitude is exactly the same as the -200 series (8.5 degrees).

    Will we have an update for P3D PMDG 777? The CPLD (or something like that) with ATC communication in the cockpit doesn’t work in P3D and we have to use Vpilot whereas this not like that in real life.

    Not sure how it is in Europe, but in NA, RVSM starts at 290 and you only need to be on autopilot during cruise. You can hand fly up and down from it.

    • @mbcxharm
      @mbcxharm 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct, this is basically ICAO standard from doc 9574. “Autopilot SHOULD be operative and engaged during level cruise except…..”. Of course, some regional and company procedures may be more limiting.

    Hi There, I bought the 777 today with PMDG but there seems to be a problem with take off. For whenever I take off and start to climb the power of the engines cut off and I start to stall resulting in the aircraft crashing into the ground. I’m unsure if you know why it would be doing this. Thanks

    @A330 Driver. Hi one short question. Do you know if the pmdg 777 has an own fadec which is taking the weight and balance into account: the fuel burn per engine per hour (at given FL and Mach, no wind) will be significantly lower near ZFW compared to near MGW in a cruise phase. I know the MSFS default airliners do not have this modeled so after 10 hour flight without FL change the fuel burn is the same.
    Thank you.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, are you sure default airliners don't model this? Sounds wrong to me if I'm honest, I'm rather sure they do burn fuel based on weight.
      The 777 of course models that correctly.

    • @dankestosprey7281
      @dankestosprey7281 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@A330Driver thank you for the quick reply. Indeed the default airliners do not have this modeled. I did several survey flights with different weights. For example: The default asobo 787-10 doesn‘t have it. And even the dev of the horizon mod did reply to me in an email that they did not implement it either. But glad to hear that the pmdg 777 has it. Regards.

    Hi! Thanks for your great Videos!
    At 9:24 you set the flaps up just above the green 1-Indication. Why do you fly below the corresponding indication with one notch above? If you set the flaps up just above the 1-Indication, you will fly with flaps-up below the UP-Indication, also in case of a speed constraint during the departure. On the approach it is the other way rund. Correct?

    • @mbcxharm
      @mbcxharm 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is the correct technique for departure. As long as you are accelerating towards a speed above the next flap manoeuvring speed you select the next flap setting when above the speed for the current flap setting. The FCTM has some diagrams showing how momentarily you have a reduced manoeuvre margin, however it doesn’t persist for long. With the flap placard speed becoming limiting at higher gross departure weights you would never get the flaps up if you didn’t do it this way! 😀

    • @mbcxharm
      @mbcxharm 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      And yes, on arrival you don’t decelerate below the current flap manoeuvring speed until the next flap is selected.

    One thing I've not understood, is the trim, same with 737, so when flaps are extended the speed trim system keeps trimming the aircraft nose up. Is there a quick answer to why they do this?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The trim systems in the 737 and 777 works quite different. The 737's STS wants to mimic "natural" behavior. The 777 will compensate any effect from the flaps.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, EGT is the exhause gas temperature. If you had red boxes around it you have exceeded your engines limitations during your flight. Engineering can reset that on the ground (FMC maintenance page).

    After listening to thousands of 777-300ER takeoff from the cockpit + cabin and flying more than 10 times on this aircraft, these PMDG sounds are NOT REALISTIC and need huge improvements. P3D GE90-115B sounds need improvement too.

      It is worth to mention though that cockpit and cabin sounds are quite different from one another. When I flew as a passenger on the A330 for the first time on a deadhead flight after I flew as operating pilot for half a year on type I was literally shocked and thought the engine was coming apart when I heard it in the cabin, sitting next to the engine.
