Holy Shit! How am I just now finding this channel! Seriously! You speak my language! You must be my people!! Haahahaha! Ahhh the 80’s and 90’s. And a quick story of the teenage angst of an Elders daughter. You may have seen me, back in the day at an assembly….trailing reluctantly, feet dragging, behind the parental units…who were already .humming kingdom melodies to themselves while trying to find seats. I would have been the one waiting to crawl across anybody and everybody in a mad dash to sit down in the seat that was the farthest away from both Parental units. Always said it’s so cold, so I could put on the ol’ Levi’s Jean jacket, and strategically work a wire up my jacket sleeve, which was attached to the “ right” headphone only. I could then put my hand up to my ear, crank it decently loud, and listen to the most rebellious, and heaviest metal music I could find. I’d have to get up and go to the bathroom to change cassette tapes or batteries ( yes, cassette tapes, dammit. Leave me alone, it’s all I had then) Never got caught-except one time, I accidentally unplugged the headphone, and for a second and a half, everyone heard it. I just started looking around, like everybody else, whispering, “ what was that?”. Heh heh heh. One thing I know for sure….whatever “ this” is now….is not, the religion that was forced on me in the 80’s/ 90’s. 😂🤣

Another elders daughter here! Helllo sister 😂 A Few exceptions: I was MADE to sit right next to them, and I was waaayyy to scared to try and be sneaky and listen to my ‘worldly’ music.. I would have got the beating of my life. Seriously. AND grounded on top of it all. Glad we made it out! And I agree, even though I didn’t like any part of it it the 80’s and 90s (the best music IMHO) it’s a completely different beast now! Well, it could also be that I just didn’t know about all the dirty dealings back then…

I'm in Rhode Island, as was Tony and his family for many years. I also happened to be in his old congregation up until my last meeting this past January. I totally understand you!! I was baptized in 1970, so over 50 years in it. My parents worked hard, always helped and volunteered. They long gone and we always hoped we would see each other again “in paradise”. That hope is gone. But I learned to look forward and enjoy what is still ahead, although I’m not young anymore. Try to look ahead and don’t let the rest of your life take the joy away because of watchtower’s lies. I wish you the very very best!

Thank you for your hilarious take on this crooked organization! I too was brought up in the cult during the 70s and 80s, however, my father converted and encouraged college. I left after learning real critical thinking skills in 1991! Best Life Ever…after I learned the real Truth! I also required a major surgery later, and couldn’t wait to sign the release for a blood transfusion! (Update: It’s been over ten years since the blood transfusion and no negative repercussions have occurred!) Thanks again!😊

You all don't get it. Before my wife came into the truth, she was involved in a violent carjacking where the thief stuck a knife through her heart and lung. By the time she got to the hospital she had major blood lose and to make matters worse she has type A- blood. She received a full blood transfusion that resulted in her getting pneumonia that almost killed her. Which brings up the question on how many post operative deaths are due to blood transfusions? Today with bloodless medicine there are no complications. Bloodless medicine is being adopted by many hospitals around the world. There is no surgical procedure anymore that requires blood. JWs avoid blood because the true God made blood sacred as it symbolizes life. It was part of the Mosaic law for Israel to pour the animal blood on the ground before they sacrificed the animal. Jesus Christ sacrifice and spilled blood on behalf of the human race. If people had faith that the true God can bring life to those who died keeping God's laws death would not be that big of a deal. The 1st century Christians died becuase they refused to break God's laws and leaves a good example for us.

We were in a sect for a while. It was embarrassing. Especially hard that we were forced to fake being ok with it. I’m grateful that we won’t get caught out again.
The last few minutes remind me of a situation my dad was in that I know only a little of. He was PO of the congregation when I was very little and at one point they all resigned because they couldn’t agree on leadership of the congregation (lateron he served as an elder again, until he stood up for his best friend who got screwed over and then got removed as well...). Is this with the GB indeed going to be a carousel because they don’t agree anymore on leadership...?

Tony Moris was shown on video at bottle king about 23 miles down the road from the jw head quarters on a Sunday at about 11:00 AM, he was buying quite a bit of mcallen and mcallen cut scotch, to the tune of about 900.00, this video and info is available, just look for bottle gate, Llyod Evens. The question was raised why was he not in a meeting at that time, well 2 things stand out the time and the distance, our friend Tony was at bottle king at 11:00 aAM on a Sunday, when all the good jw's would themselves have been in their meetings and very unlikely to see good old Tony out and about at a liquor store, second it was also brought out that there were more than one liquor store right close to jw hq, but he went 23 miles down the road again to avoid being seen and recognized at a liquor store close to jw hq. That viral video is most likely the reason he was dumped as a governing body rep. Tony broke the cardinal rule!!! he got caught, it wasn't the being out of service nor the 900.00 worth of pricey scotch whiskey that was the problem, but that he got videoed out of service on a Sunday at a liquor store buying booze, had he not been videoed at the liquor store, most likely he would not have been dumped as a governing body member, as there is no telling what they do in private.
That video was HUGE!!! If someone hasn't seen it, they need to go watch it. Oddly, Tony looks very relaxed out shopping from alcohol. The irony is that he is probably stressed out from his own negativity, unsolved traumas as a vet and more. Just a complete trainwreck !~

I am only halfway through this video, right at the part about Tony Morris just becoming a JW in 1971. Watchtower used to teach that everyone baptized before 1935 was on the Anointed Team, everyone baptized after 1935 was on the second string, the great crowd. Yet, the current Governing Body members were all BORN after 1935 - Samuel Herd, the oldest member, was born IN 1935 - so were all obviously baptized well after 1935. Does that mean the Governing Body consists of members that are all mentally diseased? (Ok, back to the video..)

This is a little off the topic of Tony, but I’ve always been curious about why that Christiansen guy got so much press for being in prison… For being “persecuted” when thousands of other Jehovah’s Witnesses have also been in prison for their faith… What made this guy so special? Listening to this podcast and realizing Tony Morris started studying with the JWs in 1971, i believe members of the GB members realized Mr. Morris is NOT anointed and he was removed. I don't believe it had ANYTHING to do with alcoholism. 1971?

Now that they have the overlapping generation, they need younger annointed people so that 1914 is still valid, but not a huge growth so that the end looks really distant and there's no urgency for obedience. This is what happens when you use lies to cover lies. They now have two conflicting doctrines, and they need both of them.

I disagree with your take. One of the best tools was Morris and the JW broadcast to extract the scales out of the audience’s eyes. Because this is a corporation, a business they have restructured. The reason for the restructure can’t be 🥃 or ill health like some are saying.This announcement was so rushed they had the comma in the wrong place in the short statement to be corrected later on 22 Feb. Now the announcement has been pulled off the website altogether!
This announcement just adds to all the more reasons why splashing the GB's members faces, poor speaking abilities and personalities for all to see was a major mistake for the org. Not that long ago they were known almost anonymously just in name only. Relatively little was heard from them or about them and few questioned it. It showed in some respects a degree of humility. Suddenly with the explosion of their media empire and jw broadcasts, all were able to see, and not in a good way, exactly who and 'what' these guys were about. Clearly displayed are superiority, arrogance, lack of humility and compassion just to name a few.

I left after learning real critical thinking skills in 1991! Best Life Ever…after I learned the real Truth! I also required a major surgery later, and couldn’t wait to sign the release for a blood transfusion! (Update: It’s been over ten years since the blood transfusion and no negative repercussions have occurred!)

You all don't get it. Before my wife came into the truth, she was involved in a violent carjacking where the thief stuck a knife through her heart and lung. By the time she got to the hospital she had major blood lose and to make matters worse she has type A- blood. She received a full blood transfusion that resulted in her getting pneumonia that almost killed her. Which brings up the question on how many post operative deaths are due to blood transfusions? Today with bloodless medicine there are no complications. Bloodless medicine is being adopted by many hospitals around the world. There is no surgical procedure anymore that requires blood.
JWs avoid blood because the true God made blood sacred as it symbolizes life. It was part of the Mosaic law for Israel to pour the animal blood on the ground before they sacrificed the animal. Jesus Christ sacrifice and spilled blood on behalf of the human race. If people had faith that the true God can bring life to those who died keeping God's laws death would not be that big of a deal. The 1st century Christians died becuase they refused to break God's laws and leaves a good example for us.

The last few minutes remind me of a situation my dad was in that I know only a little of. He was PO of the congregation when I was very little and at one point they all resigned because they couldn’t agree on leadership of the congregation (lateron he served as an elder again, until he stood up for his best friend who got screwed over and then got removed as well...). Is this with the GB indeed going to be a carousel because they don’t agree anymore on leadership...?

Tony Moris was shown on video at bottle king about 23 miles down the road from the jw head quarters on a Sunday at about 11:00 AM, he was buying quite a bit of mcallen and mcallen cut scotch, to the tune of about 900.00, this video and info is available, just look for bottle gate, Llyod Evens.
The question was raised why was he not in a meeting at that time, well 2 things stand out the time and the distance, our friend Tony was at bottle king at 11:00 aAM on a Sunday, when all the good jw's would themselves have been in their meetings and very unlikely to see good old Tony out and about at a liquor store, second it was also brought out that there were more than one liquor store right close to jw hq, but he went 23 miles down the road again to avoid being seen and recognized at a liquor store close to jw hq.
That viral video is most likely the reason he was dumped as a governing body rep.
Tony broke the cardinal rule!!! he got caught, it wasn't the being out of service nor the 900.00 worth of pricey scotch whiskey that was the problem, but that he got videoed out of service on a Sunday at a liquor store buying booze, had he not been videoed at the liquor store, most likely he would not have been dumped as a governing body member, as there is no telling what they do in private.
That video was HUGE!!! If someone hasn't seen it, they need to go watch it. Oddly, Tony looks very relaxed out shopping from alcohol. The irony is that he is probably stressed out from his own negativity, unsolved traumas as a vet and more. Just a complete trainwreck !~

I am only halfway through this video, right at the part about Tony Morris just becoming a JW in 1971. Watchtower used to teach that everyone baptized before 1935 was on the Anointed Team, everyone baptized after 1935 was on the second string, the great crowd. Yet, the current Governing Body members were all BORN after 1935 - Samuel Herd, the oldest member, was born IN 1935 - so were all obviously baptized well after 1935. Does that mean the Governing Body consists of members that are all mentally diseased? (Ok, back to the video..)

This is a little off the topic of Tony, but I’ve always been curious about why that Christiansen guy got so much press for being in prison… For being “persecuted” when thousands of other Jehovah’s Witnesses have also been in prison for their faith… What made this guy so special? It has always pissed me off the amount of press he got, and it raises SO many questions.

Listening to this podcast and realizing Tony Morris started studying with the JWs in 1971, i believe members of the GB members realized Mr. Morris is NOT anointed and he was removed. I don't believe it had ANYTHING to do with alcoholism. 1971?

I disagree with your take. One of the best tools was Morris and the JW broadcast to extract the scales out of the audience’s eyes. Because this is a corporation, a business they have restructured. The reason for the restructure can’t be 🥃 or ill health like some are saying.This announcement was so rushed they had the comma in the wrong place in the short statement to be corrected later on 22 Feb. This announcement just adds to all the more reasons why splashing the GB's members faces, poor speaking abilities and personalities for all to see was a major mistake for the org. Not that long ago they were known almost anonymously just in name only. Relatively little was heard from them or about them and few questioned it. It showed in some respects a degree of humility. Suddenly with the explosion of their media empire and jw broadcasts, all were able to see, and not in a good way, exactly who and 'what' these guys were about. Clearly displayed are superiority, arrogance, lack of humility and compassion just to name a few.
It's hard to see how they take themselves seriously!
