Mike, you are wasting your time. The book that follows a Hebrew book cannot be in Greek.
Look at the verses you read, the choice of words and the construction of sentences show that this book is not the word of gods.

There is a tradition in Judaiica of naming all literary work by the first words. The first use of the word "hebrew" was used by a foreigner describing Abraham. The septuagint helps as the Rabbis then held know, edge of a language being lost to time. The faith Jesus offers us is "multi-portioned." The first portion is מערה which "establishes" one in the kingdom with a "preparation" of the heart. The second is mat'theou/מאת^ with the alpha and omega. The Father restores our soul, enabling us to confess and receive righteousness. Luke/לוק is the "latter" part. John/יענה/the beginning of the word(rdsponse) from Jah, the most high God of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in unity. He brings the synergy. With all our parts (heart, soul, and spirit) quickened, we can love him as he asks.

Listen to audio Bible too. I don't mean you have to listen to it all day and night. Just when you do your Bible study, or maybe when you do the dishes or something. I kept praying about it, because I can go crosseyed even when I'm reading along with audio Bible (which does help). But He's been reassuring me that it's getting in, even if it feels like we aren't absorbing it. Faith comes by HEARING. It's ok if you don't remember every syllable! Don't fear. Just feed frequently ❤️
I'm obviously here, but I also listen to Calvary Chapel Ontario (Oregon). God guided me to them about 10 yrs ago, and it's been soooo helpful❤️ I'm sure the other suggestions are great too☺️

The rest of the book goes into detail about why both of those things matter and are essential to the gospel. His divine nature gives him the ability to forgive sins and his human nature gives him the ability to be a high priest who can empathize with us.

I had an unfortunate encounter with a pastor where he basically said that any tiny sin would send a person to hell at any time, so you had to hope you died at the right moment - and, ironically, I left that meeting feeling suicidal because I was like "what if later I sin and don't even realize it?". It was probably the most horrified I've felt after talking with a Pastor (and I had to find a different church. The doctrine of eternal security is one that prevents that despair, so I hope that it is truth and not just hope!

Mike, Great summary of Hebrews!!! The Jewish Christians who received this letter needed this letter to encourage them to not deny Jesus in light of dealing with persecution because they were seeking refuge in their local synagogues with their Jewish families and Jewish friends. Jesus is superior to everything!!! Continuity, Escalation, Ultimatum, and Fulfilment. You have nailed it!!! We need this today - Hebrews is timeless.

I remember reading Hebrews 6:4-8 after re-submitting my life to Jesus as Lord. It brought me to tears and made my heart race! I think I was about a year in after having spent 20+ years chasing after the flesh and some other “more enlightened way” to God, and for a few very hard minutes, and reading verse 9, I came to the conclusion that all I could do was trust God to be just, and continue to pursue relationship with Him. It has been a beautifully hard joyfully challenging life ever since. Did I lose my salvation those 20 years that I denied Christ? Only God knows, but I can testify that repentance is possible, because my faith in and relationship with Jesus is rock solid strong. 💪 ❤

@ I denied that Jesus is who he says he is in the Bible. I certainly didn’t believe that the Bible was the word of God. I also denied being a “Christian”. I bought into the lies of New Age and New Thought amongst other things, and labeled myself as “spiritual not religious”.

@@sciencescholar3440 well I might be remembering it a bit wrong. It was 8 years ago I took that class. It was the first canon with the Catholic cardinals which now that I think about it might have been closer to 300ish AD. They also wanted to make Jesus fully human and almost got rid of all the verses that referred to Him being God.

@@chrisprzibilla4181 canon of nt always has remained the same. Apostolic writings are recognisable, maybe expect Hebrews.
But canon at that time was more large in the sense, there were books called scripture, then for church edification, for private reading,
books not to be read and so on...
I don't think that there were more written Apostolic writings which did not survive or was widely read and didnt spread afterwards......

I'm excited about this new study. The Jesus in the Old Testament series was so edifying, and I'm looking forward to brushing up on some of it in this study.
As far as whether one can lose salvation, I don't think one can. No one can erase a name from the book of life, and it's only Jesus who writes those names in. Jesus knows all, so I should think he only writes the names of those who are truly his, or will be at some time in the future. God and the book exist outside of time, so there's no gaining and losing there, only what is and what is not.
