I read Bible a long time ago, and I am happy to learn that Dr Ataie validated what I had concluded back then. In summary, the catholic Bible was first published in 1609 and the protestant Bible in 1611. There was no Bible before that. There were scattered sources in various languages written long after the actual events and Bible authors used those sources. Some actual words of God from Torah, Psalms or Gospel might have been included but it’s all mixed up with writers’ own account and is more of a commentary or a narrative review of all sources and interpretations combined.
Thus, Quran which was published in 632 CE could not have copied from a book that got published 1000 years later. On the other hand, Quran lays down the principles of a wide range of subjects including ethics, religious beliefs, governance, economics, archeology, astronomy, biology and medicine. There is not much Arabic literature prior to Quran.
How can one explain that the prophet of Islam peace be upon him managed to compile all the data in his head, edited it in his head and started orally disseminating it over a period of 23 years to complete a product, that has it own unique form. It is not in a standard book form - prose, poetry or drama. It is like a dream in which you jump from one scene to another with a running commentary in the background, but unlike dream, which often makes no sense, it is all connected to a core message and internally and externally consistent while remaining eloquent. That's what the challenge is about to produce a book like that. The miracles of Moses or Jesus were witnessed by people of that time and who knows what they saw. Quran is available for all learned people to examine. So the question is how was it produced if not by revelation?

One of the ways our teachers say to defend the Qurān is to memorise the Qurān and send our kids to the Masjid to memorise the Qurān. Allāh give me and us all the ability to memorise, act upon and teach the Qurān Āmīn!

Not just memorising but actually understanding it fully as well. To many Muslims nowadays have become like parrots unfortunately and I know so many Muslims that don’t even know the basic translations of Surah Fatiha 🤦🏾‍♂️. This is why many non Muslims mock us unlike centuries before when Muslims would memorise the Quran and understand the Arabic fully. But nowadays our Sheikhs that teach us the Quran in madrasas don’t even understand the Quran themselves. In the non Arabic speaking countries we need to teach the children how to learn Arabic, teach them how to read Arabic, write Arabic and speak Arabic in conversation while memorising the Quran. There are millions of Muslims walking around not knowing the basic translation of even Fatiha but are just parroting the Quran. The Quran did not come down to just be a parroting book subhanallah 🤦🏾‍♂️

WHO IS THE MESSENGER in this Quranic verse? surah 4: 64-65 We only sent messengers to be obeyed by Allah’s Will. If only those ˹hypocrites˺ came to you ˹O Prophet˺-after wronging themselves-seeking Allah’s forgiveness and the Messenger prayed for their forgiveness, they would have certainly found Allah ever Accepting of Repentance, Most Merciful.
But no! By your Lord, they will never be ˹true˺ believers until they accept you ˹O Prophet˺ as the judge in their disputes, and find no resistance within themselves against your decision and submit wholeheartedly.
Is this messenger JESUS? Where you have to ask Jesus to pray on behalf of you for your SINS?
      John 14: 6
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I am a Muslim and an Arab, but I find that Muslims have a problem in understanding the universality of Islam... when European and American Muslims change their names to Arabic names, and this is something that is neither binding nor necessary, and at the same time they preserve the Arabic word (Allah) as if God is a proper name, like Muhammad, other than It is translatable, although (Allah) is God in English, and Dieu in French, and Dio in Spanish, but the West intended to preserve the name of Allah in the Arabic pronunciation in order to say that Islam is a local Arab religion and not a global religion, and the Islamic Allah becomes like Jehovah, the God of the Jews, and this is a Western trick.

@@Kuuzie1ali ataie did masters and phd in related topics. And ali also has the knowledge of islam which bart totally lacks. So ali can look at it from a perspective bart simply can't. But bart would not accept ali's perspective because of his stubborn historian principles. It would lead no where.

I suspect dr Ehrmam never agree to debate with dr. Ataie - Ehrman is an atheist and admit saying that he didn’t study the Quran. He will never agree to this for his scholarship reasons.

JazakumAllahu khayr brothers for this excellent presentation. Another important concept to point out would be the agrapha which are sayings of Jesus PBUH that are not found in the canonical gospels but are still accepted by Hellenistic Christians.

Why when the Koran claims Allah punishes apostates with Hell. No one can force themslves to believe what they don't beleive. As such punishment for apostates is evil mad abuse of power... But Allah can't be evi and mad, right? Yep! So the Islam God is false... And that's just one proof that Islam is man made nonsense..

I appreciate the amazing load of knowledge provided by Dr.Ali Ataie, may Allah preserve him and strengthen his Faith. And I also would like to call those who for example despise Sheikh Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah because of ignorance to investigate him a little bit for he was a masterclass at calling out different sects.
I noticed unfortunately a raise of a certain category of Muslims who spit in the face of many scholars such as Ibn Al Uthaymeen, Ibn Baz, Al Fawzan, Al Madkhali...etc while not knowing that they are as marvelous as the Doctor here or even more in term of their academical depth. With that being said I ask Allah to give us sincerity in the quest for knowledge and to give us success in the implementation of it. Assalam Alaikum.

Thank you for this meaty presentation. No doubt that Dr. Ataie brings forth solid scholarship; however, what stands out for me throughout his presentations -- time and again -- is when he resorts to common sense to drive his points home, usually when he goes like this: "imagine ......" Dr. Ataie knows how to simplify his arguments, and simple is powerful, truth is meant to be simple for everyone to have a fair shot at understanding it using uncorrupted common sense.
