MASSIVE props for including Naoki. He's one of my favorite characters, which suprised me for how non-relevant he is to the plot of P4. As someone who lost someone extremely close to them (though I was a few years younger) he is written so well. Hanged Man s.links have a special place in my heart, and he really shows that.
Naoki was a surprise hit for me. I love hanged man social links, and didn’t think I’d like him at the start. His development was genuinely touching. It’s really profound to discuss how bad someone can be compared to a sibling. It’s not fair to judge someone by the deeds of someone else. He’s his own person, not just “that dead girl’s brother”
Ahhh... Naoto The one who saved Nanako from being sent back to hospital because of a christmas cake I mean think about it, the cooking suddenly become good when she's involved and we knew how deadly the other girls' cooking are. Not to mention they're baking a fricking cake. Anyhow, that sounds unrelated, lol, but it's interesting seeing how much you see her social link since maybe I was just well... having fun with the whole phantom thief shenanigan.
I've only played Golden and 5 but my favorites are 1) Yosuke because he just had my eyes sweating by the end 2) The dojimas, mostly because I could not finish them in time and I felt like that strengthened the narrative a bit 3) Takemi because she is my waifu 4) Ai because she legit had some amazing development and she became one of my favorite characters by rank 7 5) Adachi is deadass my favorite one, his loneliness and unwillingness to connect with other people really resonated with me
Unfortunately haven’t had the possibility of playing P3 yet, but my favorite social link has to be Futaba from P5, followed by Adachi, Dojima and, surprisingly, Tora (The Sun) from persona 5. I don’t really know why I love Tora so much, but I guess I just see him as a stretch of the themes of the game as, inicialy, he seems to have been just like the kind of adults you have to face of in the game. Corrupt and selfish and willing to do criminal actions for his own self gain. The beautiful part is the ideia that now he is different. That he was able to change without the Phantom Thieves around and become a better person on his own merits instead of because a group of teenagers in spats beat his mental monster to death. His change seems so openly genuine that you feel bad for him, even though he holds himself accountable for all his mistakes in the past. I just love the guy
Interesting list. Personal growth is something I love to see in social links as well. Genuine personal growth even more so in a game that tends to rely on the kids beating up a mental monster lol

I've only played Persona 5 and it's definitely worn on me, I don't particularly like the social links and when I see gameplay of other Persona games the others seem a lot stronger and realistic. My favourite social link for Persona 5, however, is Toranosuke Yoshida (Sun Arcana) because despite being an aspiring politician his story is the most realistic, and it's also the most inspiring. [Spoilers ofc]: I press fast forward on all the social links, but I've never done so with Yoshida. I love his design, his voice, and his whole story of being a disgraced politician who made mistakes when he was young but is fighting to do better just... Wow. I literally love him so much.

The Social Links are one of my favorite aspects of Persona, and while some of the ones in base P3 are questionable, they fixed that in the female route of the Portable version. It makes me think about who my Social Links are in my real life…

I love all the Persona games (I mean not so much the first one... but from IS & EP onwards, anyways)- but I think _character-wise_ (as in the main & supporting cast) Persona 3 has the best; for Social Links though, it's definitely P4 & P5, imo. That's not to say that P3 doesn't have some really amazing Social Links (Akinari, Aigis, Bunkichi & Mitsuko... I really like Mutatsu as well 😉)- but I do think that P4 especially really had some *fantastic* SL's. They're all very personal and touching in different ways; and they're all very well-written. I think Persona 5's are the same way. I'm a big fan of the Tower Arcana, but I feel like it's been very underwhelming since P3. I hope whenever Persona 6 finally comes out we won't get _yet another_ middle school-aged kid as it's sole representative lol (actually I don't care about their age so much as I just want someone who is a good and proper Tower representative, if that makes sense.) Anyways though, throughout the series (and by that I mean P3 to present) there have been a few Arcana that (to me) are almost always great; Hierophant is one of those. The Old Couple, Ryotaro Dojima, and Sojiro Sakura have all been fantastic reps. I also like the Lovers, Hanged Man, Sun, Justice, and Fortune as well. I've only played Persona 5 Royal from Persona games as of now but my favourite ones in that game definitely are the two story mandated ones, who are Akechi and especially Maruki, both of which are amazing foils for Joker and Joker being amazing foils for them... They are brilliant. Lower on the list i would put Iwai, Sojiro and Yoshida. I am a sucker for redemption stories and i think each of these characters to an extent fits each character.
Weird how I disliked Naoto and Makoto at first for derailing the party's momentum and acting like know-it-alls. And they both ended up being my favorite characters. Pretty much coming up with all the plans and acting as pseudo-leaders(since MC has no voice).
@@Tony4You He is the reason I fell in love with the Persona series, Persona 3 was my first-ever Persona game and I felt an immediate connection with the character from the moment he showed up, to this day he is still the Persona character I relate to most, besides the whole killing someone accidentally and being addicted to a drug.
Best team social link is Chie because she is best girl and the protag gets up in her guts. Best non team social link is Yuko as the protag gets up in her guts.
@@faultyvideos2215 1 is the worst, nothing really impressive. 2 is the best and it has an amazing story and characters. 3 is the worst paced, Tartarus sucks and for the majority of the game nothing happens, the real story starts in november. 4 has a great cast but a very predictable story at some points, 5 has the best gameplay and visuals and it's definitely the most fun to play, the story isn't the best but some arcs like Kamoshida, Futaba, Sae, Shido and Maruki are really good, especially the new content of Royal.
Beneath the surface of; great, catchy and upbeat music, cute waifus, and stylish graphics, these games can get pretty damn; deep, depressing, dark, and outright tragic a lot of times.

Yet that’s like one of the biggest talking points of the community, Mfers always askin people the same questions about “who’s best waifu” or just starting shit between several other groups of stans.

She's my all-time favorite female character in gaming, and her Social Link is what got me hooked.

@@Tony4You He is the reason I fell in love with the Persona series, Persona 3 was my first-ever Persona game and I felt an immediate connection with the character from the moment he showed up, to this day he is still the Persona character I relate to most, besides the whole killing someone accidentally and being addicted to a drug.

@@faultyvideos2215 1 is the worst, nothing really impressive. 2 is the best and it has an amazing story and characters. 3 is the worst paced, Tartarus sucks and for the majority of the game nothing happens, the real story starts in november. 4 has a great cast but a very predictable story at some points, 5 has the best gameplay and visuals and it's definitely the most fun to play, the story isn't the best but some arcs like Kamoshida, Futaba, Sae, Shido and Maruki are really good, especially the new content of Royal.

Beneath the surface of; great, catchy and upbeat music, cute waifus, and stylish graphics, these games can get pretty damn; deep, depressing, dark, and outright tragic a lot of times.
@@TheBrutalSax and that's the issue with the persona fanbase, people only focus on the girls of each game instead of the actual story/games itself making it alot harder to get in to the games when you assume that's all they are about
@@chrysome4540 what’s crazy about that too is the fact that the dating aspect is like 1% of the content of the game. Yet that’s like one of the biggest talking points of the community, Mfers always askin people the same questions about “who’s best waifu” or just starting shit between several other groups of stans.
i should clarify here with my comment that i obviously don't mean the entire persona fanbase, most people i've spoken to aren't waifu hungry losers but i HAVE seen a decent amount of people like that (mostly on reddit/twitter)
