      you can barely see the "door" lettering, so imagine a old man or woman trying to board and she or he sees this label and thinks the entire train is out of order. LMFAO

      @straightpipediesel ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The train's already delayed for 10 minutes at this point, pretty sure the passengers would want the crappy sign than to wait 5 more minutes to find station staff to hand letter one up.

    I was so excited when I ticked off the Sprinter and Super Sprinter in my I-spy railways book, I was so bored with the HST's we get around here. How naive I was as a child.

      I do remember thinking I "didn't deserve" an InterCity HST to get back from Wigan to Preston...
      I think they actually *prefer* you to get the "big train".

    Wow! Very similar with Class 315 when it was new in 1980s. 315s has drivers (front) and guards (rear). Sadly of 315s being scrapped but hopfully one unit should saved. I'm not sure about modern London Underground trains but they got CCTV screens in drive cabs.

    "hello panel this the driver of 155 307 i need fitters to the next station please"
    I know its only for instructions but if you as the driver rang up the signalling centre and said that the signaller wouldn't know who you were and only knew of your position because of track circuits, as the correct procedure would of been hello panel this is the driver of 2G83 for example, at least it gives the signaller a heads up to who you are.. 155 307 means nothing to a signaller... he or she doesn't know what's been allocated to that set all they know services by is headcodes..
    EDITED:
    Actually it would of been "hello signaller this the driver of 2G83 standing at signal (example) Bravo Tango 5 5".. him not following the procedure would of ended up being picked up everytime he has to go for a review, basically in train driving terms every year or two you go for evaluation to check your following the rules, you know what your doing, you know the routes etc, and that may of meant he failed that part of the test and it would of been picked up by a manager and gone through retraining to requalify him a train driver. It's like a car licence but its validlity is shortened...

      Also, MK3 coaches are strictly for the HST class 43 / class 253, 254, 255 units.
      As for multiple units, what about Classes 317, 318, 455, 442, 319, 210, 150, 450.
      Also, there's a subsection of MK3a coaches which are, in fact, loco hauled and are not compatible with the MK3 coach.
      Yeah, a lot of multiple unit variations can be built from regular coaches, at least, the design of them.

    • @foolguy6
      @foolguy6 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do actually. The outer thinner lights (marker lights) are always on and the main headlight (depending whether it is day or night) is either on the left or the right hand side. Driver's side is night running and other side is day running.
