Hi Casey, I had a girl giving me mixed signals, responding to texts after an hour and only responding to half of what I was writing. She did offer to meet again on Saturday early noon(?!) and was "busy" at the rest of the week. I was very clear with her that I want to meet again after our first date. You're describing exactly what my exGF did to me. I had gotten sober and finally had all my shit together when we met and now I'm back to the bottom (still sober, thankfully), and I lost two years in the process. But she was an absolute dumpster fire when I met her and even she's said that if I wasn't in her life to financially and physically and emotionally prop her up, she would have been screwed so many times over. Not saying I don't agree with Casey on this one, but the woman he's describing here behaves no differently from a woman who has genuinely no interest at all.
1) If she's really playing games and putting up an act all the time it's really pointless to go after her
2) If guys go and pursue her more than he should, she may be turned off because he was aloof and cool and then he turns into someone who tries to please her too much
3) She may be just trying to seek validation not to give you a chance, but to test her market value. If she sees validation from you, she would go, ok I got this guy hooked, my value is at least at this level, I'm gonna try to go for a higher status guy.

Casey this happens to me a lot with church girls, but I categorically refuse to submit and accept the weaker position. Basically when they try to take me down a few pegs I view it as disrespect, so I stop pursuing (I don't like encouraging bad behavior). I've had at least one girl where it appears I broke her heart because it backfired on her. Are we supposed to just accept the disrespect initially then try to switch it up on her later? Or just stop pursuing until she stops being disrespectful?
The important thing is to take your shot and let her know you are interested. If she starts playing dumb games or disrespecting you, that's when you pull back all your attention and validation. You don't keep chasing and let it be known to her that you are willing to walk away and move on. If she is genuinely interested, she will come back correct and try to get in touch with you. At that point, it is up to you what you want to do with her. If she doesn't come back, you walk away for good and don't look back. Go meet other women and keep doing your thing.
