I bought the Chery last month and it’s fantastic…it was between this or the H6… the comfortable (7) seats, some extras and looks made my mind up. The things the reviewers complain about I don’t find a problem, ride and drive train is great. I like the Rear view mirror, it works nicely. I am getting 8.4l /100km. Highway I get 7.
Hi Paul, great to hear you are having a great time with it so far. Amazing fuel consumption return as well for the size. I agree, its always going to be a matter of deal breakers or not.😉
I test drove both of them. The tiggo 8 has the best interior design but the H6 has the best engine, drive comfort and handling. As mentioned on the video, the Haval has seat heating and cooling, traffic sign recognition, heads up display and better lane keeping assist. The Tiggo has Google assistant, ambient light and actual buttons for changing to sport mode. The It's a tough choice. But if you enjoy driving, the Haval takes it.
Only 1 day and 3 and a half hours before I pick up my new h6 vanta( the special edition ultra) has black grille and 19"black alloys! I absolutely loved it when I test drove the ultra, very smooth handling and here in Australia it comes with an unlimited 7km warranty, 5 years roadside assist, 5 years capped price servicing and 7 airbags! They threw in mudguards, a complete set of rubber mats, a rubber cargo mat! I bought front and rear dash cams, darkest legal tint, paint, rust and upholstery protection! Next week I have it booked in at the installer to upgrade the stereo with sound deadening in all the doors, Hertz speakers x8, Audison Sound processor/amplifier and a JlL Audio boxed subwoofer! My only gripe with the car being that the sound system although hood was not up to my standards! I used to sing professionally and play jazz clarinet and violin, so pretty fussy regards this, most would find it more than adequate!
Hi Mpho, when the Haval came with Jolion then H6. The doubters were questioning its safety and reliability. The ANCAP has now put to bed the safety aspect, now it’s reliability. Then on those 2 fronts, Haval wins. They have been here longer (from 2017/18), Chery needs to work on realibilty more for after leaving the country a few years ago, I know they will say they were not running the operations themselves then unlike now. It also boils down to drivetrain for me, Haval is outstanding where that’s concerned, competes with German cars. I feel the Chery Tiggo 8 reminds me of Jolion, small engine and big body. The car struggles as it’s working more due to a smaller engine, I drove it with a full load and you hear the engine is working unlike on the H6. On tech they’re similar but Chery is more comfortable with those seats. Great review buddy
Great analysis. Exactly what I thought of the Chery with a full load. Honestly Haval gave us a a performer with the H6. You can put black rims and detailing and still not be embarrassed that its fast. Thanks a lot Sizwe.👌🏾
Yeah. Haval has really proven themselves over the last few years. Chery on the other hand still need to do that. The only info we can rely on is that from other markets such as the Philippines. Looking at reliability data there it seems Chery is doing great. The Philippines have had Cherys while ot was still absent in our country so I think they are a good source. Russia also but most news from Russian are not in English so hard to confirm. So I think Chery will do well and I think they must follow Havals model of business or better it. If they do worse they may have to exit in a few years, probably for good.
This is really down to the wire. They trade blows in drivetrain and safety. Packaging is no contest, chery takes it, interior design I give it to chery as its more conventional especially the separate aircon controls. Safety I would give it more to Haval. Drivetrain more to Haval due to the more powerful engine and AWD option but when you compare the Chery to the VW Tiguan Allspace its more powerful and has FWD. Only the 2.0l models are AWD. Manufacturer back up, Chery wins on warranty length. Service plan can be extended but not really a big issue. AWD for me is important especially in a big SUV body as you need the security especially on rural roads but I can live without it.
Touched on a very important subject of rurals, which in SA is also an important consideration as many go there and AWD comes to play in a big way. Otherwise great analysis Sipho. Overall, we really see eye to eye on this👏🏽👏🏽🤜🏾😃
I test drove both of these. The Haval has a way better engine, gearbox and suspension. It rides smoother and quieter and feels a bit more refined overall. The Chery on the other hand has a better interior both from a quality and design perspective. The Chery has lovely attention to detail. Overall though, I'd go Haval because of the better drive train which feels more sorted which is more important.
Actually, I believe Chert has better engine. Among Chinese car companies, Chery's the engine technology is the No. 1. Usually Chery's engine is more powerful compared with that of the same capacity.
Nice video. In Pakistan, the two cars are not available yet but the booking is in progress. I was originally interested in tiggo, however, decided to book an H6 because of the bigger engine, 19 in rims, AWD, and the larger LCD, to name a few features. Unfortunately, it might be 6-8 months before I get the car. I am anxiously waiting 🙂
You'd be lucky if you get your car in 6 months. And don't forget the extra 1.0-1.5 millions that you will have to pay because currency depreciation or an unjust price increase by the company.
Thank you for the in-depth review; I haven’t been inside the Chery yet, so I still like the H6, maybe once I’ve been inside the Tiggo 8 pro my view might change
Haval hands down. Test drove both, and while the Chery is nice, it felt cheap and a bit gimicky. The surfaces also attract fingerprints and dirt which looks horrible if the car is not 100% clean. Haval felt solid, well though out, and the drivetrain just felt better. Oh and the rear view mirror in the Tigo - why!?
Hehe that rear view mirror from Chery needs to be checked, it's like a wide view on a camera. I agree though Haval does take it on quality and drive but design yey the Tiggo👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
I’ve had the H6 Super Lux for 4 months now. Thirsty mistress if you going to enjoy the performance. I’m averaging around 14.5l/100km but I don’t mind my fuel consumption, I just drive by feeling. @ Mr Sebuwa, I actually found that the paddle shifts helps to control the RPM’s because you control the shift according to your anticipated speed or power you might need or not need. When it’s in automatic it almost feels like when an Uber driver drives slowly to make more money from you. The automatic transmission feels like it spends a little bit too much time at the higher RPM’s before shifting up and easing anxiety levels on tough months. So I’d say paddle shifts are a + for the H6. Up to date, when I’ve driven according to speed regulations 💯 percent, I achieved 8.5l/100km ( I was paddle shifting here) . You inspired my H6 purchase and after this review, I’d like to come test drive the Cherry with you if possible. Otherwise I have a feeling that the next H6 is just going to blow the top off. I can’t wait for more Haval releases. Oh your music is legendary by the way who produces for you the video on the Tiggo4 at 18:06, that’s an amazing song. All the best and keep juicing us with Car Fever.

Glad they released it today, I was supposed to publish yesterday but held it for a day longer as I finished around 10pm. I would have been considered for plagiarism yoh😮🤣
Haval H6 3rd gen - terrible front seats with no ability to adjust driver's tilting seat angle, awkward overall seat profile. There was better driver's seat in previous generation on H6. And driving wheel too. Why they decided to change, i dont know. But it wasnt a good idea.
I can't say its like Bose in the Mazda which I recently experienced. It is manages to project the instruments well in the cabin without being disturbed by road, wind and engine noise. It does sound more clean compared to the Tiggo 4 Pro's standard sound.
I upped my stereo in my h6 with premium speakers, amp and subby! I pick the new car up from the dealership tomorrow AWD Vanta and the following week the new sound system including sound deadening in all the doors will be installed 🥳
Tough call, isn't it? Chery Tiggo 8 has just launched in Dubai. I went to the room and came back home very confused as to which one to choose. I loved the Tiggo 8, the interiors are abasolutment amazing but I wans;t blown away by the colours offered. The Haval is a head turner, and the metalic red or blue are absoilutely stunning. I didn;t have this feeling with the Tiggo 8. Which one have you chosen?
I dont think it is fair to compare the two. I test drove both today and Haval is way ahead to be honest. The cherry had some fancy tech but drive is rubbish. Engine sounds bad gear change is not nice. Over priced also
H6 should be compared to tiggo 7 not 8. Tiggo 8 is way bigger n more advanced than h6, look at the seats, engine n so on. Rather compare it to 7 which is also bigger n better than h6

@@sebuwamIt needs a subwoofer for that extra bump. Great review. Much appreciated.
@@supersonic177 True. It needs that to bring that "premium" feel. It is a notch above standard ones though. I appreciate the positive feedback🙂
I upped my stereo in my h6 with premium speakers, amp and subby! I pick the new car up from the dealership tomorrow AWD Vanta and the following week the new sound system including sound deadening in all the doors will be installed 🥳
@@pennygranat9532 how's the upgraded sound system?
Thanks bra

Haval H6 scored a 5 star Ncap (Australian). "I don't trust the cherry's safety. All those airbags mean nothing if they fail.
I understand where your doubt is coming from, unfortunately for the brands, they have to prove themselves and that happens over time👌🏾

Remember those Japanese Takata airbag malfunction?
7 airbags for the h6 in Australia
Can someone help me choose between haval h6 latest and tiggo pro 8 that as a woman who loves nice things
which one should i go for
Its a tough one. If you want more space go for Chery, if you are not usually travelling with a lot of people, H6 will do.
Over priced also
Chery probably lags behind in some ways but I'd like to say among Chinese companies, Chery's engine technology is NO.1.
How can i trust Chineese Manufacturer?
Anyone who own any one of this please share your experience ?
( More than 1 year experience is preferable. )
Depends really, I have a Haval, going for 3 years now. Never had to go to the dealership for anything but routine service.
I will never subscribe to someone who is speeding on the road. going over 125kkm/h is illegal and this is visual proof you should have been fined.
Fair point, It's understood!
H6 should be compared to tiggo 7 not 8. Tiggo 8 is way bigger n more advanced than h6, look at the seats, engine n so on. Rather compare it to 7 which is also bigger n better than h6
Mmmmh, I am not so sure about that. They are not that far off in size ey🤔
What a waste of time.. Minimal technical info.. All subjective banter
Apologies🙏🏽, I am sure others shared much more technical analysis of the two cars.
