    Good Stuff! I didn’t know O Scale control was different from DCC. I’m getting back into Modeling Railroads. I was torn between HO and O (started with HO), but I think I’m going O this time. BIG DETAILS look great on BIG locomotives and stock. Running 0-84 and 0-72’s will be my curves because I prefer Long Engines and Rolling Stock. 👍🏽🇺🇸😊

    I want to have 2 legacy trains on one track. How can I "automate" for a train behind to slow down or stop if there is a slower train ahead? With conventional systems, I saw they used isolated blocks. But for legacy systems with CAB2 remote, how can I do it?

  • @ravenhawk6910

    Get video! Just one little bit. Modern diesels can't quill the horn, however some first and second generation diesels using either a rope cord or a lever on a control stand can be quilled.

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ravenhawk6910 Thanks and yeah I've heard a bit about that, but didn't know about it at the time of the video. Wish I could witness a real quilling diesel! That would be pretty cool..... :)

      The command base connects to the track via the ground (black) terminal. Check out my setup tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/Lz-yt4K_b8I/w-d-xo.html

    Question: how do I control 2 separate tracks with one command control?

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Peter Cornejo To control two separate tracks, you have to make sure that they are running on the same circuit. So if you have an inner loop and an outer loop, join them with a switch interchange or a crossover track somewhere. That way although they are two separate lines they will still be linked to the same electrical circuit and will both be able to receive commands from your Legacy remote.

    Just got a Legacy and it will not connect the Remote to the Base, no matter what channel I choose, no matter how many times I scan the channels? Lionel Tech Support was clueless I wonder if you can help? Thanks

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, that's interesting. I bet your remote and base are running different versions of the software. If you power up the remote, click the CTC button and you should see what software version you have. If the base and remote have different versions, they will not find each other. If you have the blue upgrade modules, you can program the remote and base to the same software version, otherwise you can purchase a black writable utility module from Lionel that will allow you to download the latest software. If that doesn't work, you may have a faulty remote or base, unfortunately. :( It's hard for me to be entirely sure from just text, but I hope some of this helps. Best of luck! :)

    I heard you could run an MTH engine with the legacy remote.

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can run an MTH engine, but you will not be able to access many features unless you use MTH's DCS with that engine.

    I have a PA GP7 # 6-28573, the engine will only move in slow motion. I tried to fix the problem by unsetting the speed limit, doesn't work. How can I get the engine moving again?

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the Legacy remote isn't restricting your engine's speed, then there's probably something wrong with the engine itself. The motor may be weak, or your track may not be getting enough power. There could be numerous reasons. Is it for sure something with the remote? Also try a factory reset of the engine-that may solve the problem. I explain how to do that here: th-cam.com/video/_WeVcGkiWt4/w-d-xo.html Also sorry for the delayed response!

  • @Bondmanproductions

    I noticed one of the buttons had the letter R in a circle what does that button do?

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That button is a "reset" button. If at any time your locomotives aren't responding correctly to your commands, you can hit that button and it will reset the engine. It is also used to deactivate sequence control if your engine has that feature, and to initiate refueling sounds if you hold it down. (Again, your engine would have to have that feature equipped. Usually the newer Legacy engines do but the ones from around 2007, 2008ish don't)

  • @ericspreviewshow1803
    @ericspreviewshow1803 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe Legecy Is easy for me to use as long if there's not to many buttons to push, making the engine go crazy out of control & that I can't use it anymore.

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does seem overwhelming at first doesn't it? But don't worry-Legacy is a piece of cake to use once you understand it. Happy railroading! :)

    • @TrainLine14
      @TrainLine14  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chase Stjohn Surprisingly enough, on this layout I'm using O-36. The only reason the Big Boy can make it around is because it's a Lionmaster Big Boy, so it's able to handle the tighter turns, at the sacrifice of some body detail.
