Speaking as a professional cinematographer, I think this Panasonic is the best choice today for a camera you can put in your pocket. The viewfinder with a diopter is also an important rare feature at this price point. Don't expect it to do everything, but don't ignore it's extremely small size combined with grips for your fingers to help you hold it steady. The Panasonic PZ-80 is also very nice, and it includes a hot shoe for attaching a flash unit, which is obviously not on cameras as small as this one.

@@jamaylarenea It does not include an external mic input. I too had to search for a long while to find out this answer.
If like me you are disabled and have no finger movement then the touchscreen function is absolutely vital. With a little bit of effort and a lot of fiddling around it is possible to press some of the buttons on the back of the camera, but it is fiddly and can be frustrating because the buttons are quite small. A good example of how the touchscreen really comes into its own for me personally is when I want to operate the camera using the app on my Galaxy tablet. I only have to press the menu button once which will bring up the menu screen. Then I simply touch the screen to open the app and then I have full control from my tablet rather than having to touch the camera at all.
I just got word this is one of the best cameras for making music videos. I just purchased this cant wait to test it out

I just got one and I love it. It replaced our ZS25, which was stolen while we were on vacation. I wish Panasonic would still make one of the smaller versions like the ZS25 to keep in the glove box or on our boat. I suppose it wouldn't be profitable. Thanks for the video.

How is the low light performance? How fast is the autofocus? Can I tap to refocus while shooting video? I am considering this camera for my all-purpose, instead of splurging on the Canon G7 X Mk 2 or the Sony RX100 Mk 5. Thank you
I'd buy it but I'm not sure I like lacia lenses. One thing else: It is important to say how big the sensor is.
What do you not like about them? They're supposed to be the best lenses out there.

How does it compare to the sx730?...(both being at 1080/60)
They both have their Pros and Cons. I can make a video comparing them!
I personally prefer Canon as a brand so if I had to pick one of the two, I would go with the SX730 HS, however the 4K on the Panasonic is enticing.

I'm most interested in this point-and-shoot's Zoom for outdoor wildlife photography active hiking/biking in woods. Not interested in the 4k video. I'm also considering the Sony HX99. Sony is about $100 more and has burst mode. Have you ever compared the two? This has 30x optical zoom which is fine for me - again I want crisp stills . but I was disappointed not to see more still images , not everyone is focused on the video feature.
I’m looking for a compact digital camera for travel with a great zoom and will take better still photos than my iPhone camera… is this the one you would recommend… willing to pay more if there is something better… thanks so much.

Thanks for sharing all the info. How is the quality on selfie mode? I wish you had samples of selfie photos. I typically use the portrait mode on iPhone camera and the quality is okay, can I assume the selfie mode quality on this Lumix is better haha... I have never owned small cameras like this, I do have DSLR cameras but they’re too big and too heavy nowadays... Hope to hear from you on the selfie section. Thank you 🙏💕✨😍
how is it in comparison with the g7x mark ii ?? Considering lumix is cheaper and has evf, 4k etc. , which canon does not....You suggestion would be very helpful.
Hi Kevin, this is my third Panasonic Lumix camera , I had a DMC-ZS8 and a water camera which I adore, I love the ZS70 but in my last trip to Europe this year I had a problem with the Intelligent auto, when I set it in auto the screen show dark and could not see the scene very clear, then I decided to set in Scene Mode and I have to use that for the rest of the trip, Do you know why this happen, it is a bad setting or a defect? thank you in advance

This camera turns off the ability to use flash in any way when you use any of the special artistic filters. With point and shoot cameras I generally use whatever high contrast black and white mode it will offer so this is pretty annoying to me. I'm going to have to see if this was corrected in firmware updates. Though I do appreciate the flip screen, I'm not a vlogger and simply use my cameras to "take pictures" for the most part.... so, not being able to use flash, in modes other than the standard ones is quite limiting for a 300 dollar camera. Its 40 dollar panosonic predecessors, like the small dmc fh series isn't limited in this most basic way so I'm scratching my head cos I bought this camera as an "upgrade".... and Yes, I did rest the settings.

Ended up buying a ZS70 and returned it due to its disappointing performance, especially in low light. The ZS70 has a huge feature set, but does not have image performance from less expensive cameras.

Hi Kevin, have you tried snapping photos in low light and also videos like during concerts?
The quality for my vids and pix are very "grainy" for the TZ90 as compared to my TZ60 and I have tried to adjust similar settings but I cant seem to choose the exact shutter speed that I want for the TZ90.
Any suggestions on how to rectify this "grainy" issue? And also the image i see on the LCD screen before taking pictures are also very "sandy" and "grainy".

Scene guide and creative control do not produce what I program in. What am I supposed to do to get them to work? Nothing is written in the manual.
How does the video stabilization look in 4K compared to 1080p? I hear it does 5-axis in 1080p, but only 2-axis in 4K.

Hi Kevin . I was wondering if you could help me. I have this and am having trouble getting the focus ring round the lens to enable.(only works as zoom at the mo ) I know to press the macro/ manual focus button then, select M but it still uses the ring for focusing. I've looked on the manual but it just says to do what I have already done. Any advice on how to use the ring for focusing would be greatly appreciated. Keith

What do you mean by it looking better? 1920x1080 is 1920x1080. It shouldn't look any different if you put 4k on it.
Kevin - Thank you for such a good, concise review. Have you had a chance to check out Image Quality (IQ) when the cameras is zoomed out to 25? to 30X? I have found that IQ dropped off dramatically on the ZS60 and ZS100 once you zoom out to the maximum focal length. The drop in IQ is present in all zoom cameras, but seemed especially bad in the Panasonic models I mentioned. Thank you.
