A few things I discovered about this camera. It has a manual focus ring, can do focus stacking and can be remotely controlled from a smart phone or tablet.
I was torn between the Lumix and the Sony and Canon compact zoom travel camera's I went for the Lumix TZ95 it just looks so solid and durable chuck it into my panniers forget about it until I see something the others looked just a bit flimsy. Really cool video Thx

It would be good for the zoom part, however, if its indoor concerts, I'm not so sure it would do as well for low light. In fairness this is tough for most cameras. Zoom lenses struggle to bring in as much light. And for low light you are best with a bigger sensor like the Canon g7x mk2 or the Sony rx100 range, which their later models have good zoom, but are a bit more pricey

Hi Bolu, I would say, if you want complete control then the camera is better. However, photos and video straight from the iPhone 12 may look better than the tz90. so if you don't plan to edit much that is the best way to practise and get started. If you own the iPhone 12 and want to get next level camera I would look at 1 inch sensor compacts like g7x mk2 or 3, rx100 mk4 onwards or zv1. Lots more options if you venture on to mirrorless but can get expensive and more bulky. If you are after long zoom the the tz90 will have better image quality on zooms than mobile phones. Hope that helps with your decision.
do you believe there'll be a big difference between the tz80 and this one?? 'cause I'm very unsure what to buy. I don’t need it in a professional way, basically i need to have a good video quality and good stable(?) zoom as i intend to bring it with me to a concert. 😅
Hey Marie. There is no external mic at this price point. Battery wise i was out filming stop start for about an hour no problem. I didnt try it non stop. You will find a lot of cameras will stop recording after 30 minutes and you have to repress the record button.
Heya, due to this being a smaller sensor camera, you will notice more grain in darker shots when the higher iso levels are used. This is normal across all cameras but ones with a bigger sensor are better and show less grain. For this price point it is pretty reasonable. If you can afford it, a 1 inch sensor is better like the g7x mark ii or rx100 range.

Would this be a good option for that? I currencly use a Redmi 10 Pro and I don't know if buying a camera would be worth the upgrade over the phone. Heya, glad I could help. And with regards to your question. Its a real tough one. Lots of cameras that are reasonable, same as camera phones. Personally, I use the canon g7x mk2. Its got a bigger sensor, great stabilisation which is good for video and is around £400-500. Difficult to get anything better for less. Over £500 you could consider mirrorless cameras. Sony are super sharp and great in low light but bad with stabilisation. Hope that helps, I have both a Sony mirrorless and the g7x and use both for video.
Hey, for an external microphone, you will need to record it to an external device such as your phone or external recorder then sync it with the video in video editing software.

Hey, it doesn't have a mic in and stabilisation wise the pocket would be a lot better, in fairness sounds like you are more video focused in which case the dji pocket 2 is best. This does have WiFi mode though I didnt test it connected to my phone at the time. Main pro with this is the super zoom. Hope that helps,

Heya Giuliana, I can confirm that all the example video footage was using the inbuilt microphone. I have had a look through my sample photos, unfortunately I do not have any night photos to comment on. it should be okay for some basic night shots, but usually night filming requires fast lens and large sensor of which this camera is not in that price range. Hiya, it will cut out after 15 minutes maximum recording time in 4K in MP4 mode. If you are recording it a hot environment it may be less. That said even some RX100s and latest G7XIII struggle to get 10 minutes in 4K so for a compact this is pretty good.
Regarding phones, then sure- they can be very good. BUT if you want the best camera phone, then what you pay on a contract over 2-3 years is going to cost MORE than say an mft/mirrorless camera with a great kit lens, or even one of Fuji's X series cameras (even an X100T or V would cost LESS than some contracts!). These TZ cameras simply give us more choice at a lower price-not everyone wants or can afford the latest phones which will still not better many cheaper cameras!!
Agree, phone prices are silly money these days, and a £400 can pretty much do 99% of what the £1k+ can. Cameras, are a different ball game, entry level ones like this will not necessarily give you "better" quality, but give you things like a viewfinder, flip screen, optical zoom that just are not possible on phones. Phone photos are generally over processed so you should have more room for editing with files from a camera also.
Should be okay, but if its indoors you will need additional lighting and I would recommend a separate microphone for best results (you would need to sync the microphone in your video editor).

Hello i have a question i bought the panasonic tz90 camera this year in hopes to have a good quality for my singing covers what i didnt know before buying this camera js that it didnt have a microphone jack thus my the quality of my voice relies on the mic of the camera. I would probably say this camera is better for outdoors due to its zoom lens it's not the best for lower light situations. Something like the Canon g7x or Sony rx100 would produce a lot better results for videos and indoor filming.

I would try and buy a camera with a 1 inch sensor, either the canon g7x or Sony rx100 range. Under 400 is tough as if you have a newer phone, they generally take good photos, better than a lot of sub 400 cameras.
@@Ackerman064 I have the g7x and love it. My dad has the rx100 both really good. As for mk3 vs 3500.. spec wise not much in it. You will have a lot more options lens wise with the nikon and sensor is bigger. if that route is something you are serious about its best to ensure you start on the right brand so any lenses purchases can stay with you(you would need to research that part). If you want a one size fits all portable rig then you can't go wrong with the rx100. But it will always feel like a point and click compared with having a real lens in your hands.

Hola, gracias por la comment. No mucho entre la dos. Tz80 no hace 4k video y un poco menos megapixel resolution. La tz90 hace un poco major bateria pero no mucho mas. Zoom es la mismo. Si tu no necessitar 4k video, la tz80 es el mejor para ti creo. Todo lo mejor del UK.

I bought the tz90. I have a tz70. In lower light I think the tz70 is much better and very little difference in normal lighting. I ended up returning it, I've had the tz70 for years, love the sunset shots I can take and in general the photos are great as is video. Yes, its great having a touch screen and all the other upgrades but after taking it out for a test drive i just wasn't impressed with image quality. I'm going to buy another tz70 as the shutter on mine isn't closing and opening well. The cameras are the same price now 300 euros so your getting lots of tech upgrades with the 90 but I like my photos with the 70 better, why change something if your happy with it.
By this video 1080 video looks absolutely bad. 4k looks the same. Maybe it is the auto settings or exporting. Just horrid. Glad I went to see some videos before buying an "allround everyday camera"
I think these days a mid priced phone will out do video wise a cheap compact like this. But really depends what you are after. Sometimes there is no getting around spending a dash more to get better quality. I've used my g7x mk2 for years and been happy but for basic vlogs am considering going back using a phone.
Camera phones are great agreed. But buying a camera for specific purpose is why they still sell. Optical zoom for sports or your kids events kind of replaces old camcorder style if you don't have front row seats.

I do love my g7x mark 2, but it only has 4x optical and no 4k. And as you say, still very pricey. Well let me know what you get, always interested 😃

What would you pick between this and the canon PowerShot SX740
If you need a viewfinder, get the Panasonic, if you want slightly longer zoom, get the canon.

Hey, this is a good starter camera as long as you are not comparing it like for like with mobile phones as the last 12 months phone cameras have got a lot better.

I would say if you don't need to vlog or zoom probably stick with your camera phone.

How abt low light performance???
I bought the tz90. I have a tz70. In lower light I think the tz70 is much better and very little difference in normal lighting. I ended up returning it, I've had the tz70 for years, love the sunset shots I can take and in general the photos are great as is video. Yes, its great having a touch screen and all the other upgrades but after taking it out for a test drive i just wasn't impressed with image quality. I'm going to buy another tz70 as the shutter on mine isn't closing and opening well. The cameras are the same price now 300 euros so your getting lots of tech upgrades with the 90 but I like my photos with the 70 better, why change something if your happy with it.

By this video 1080 video looks absolutely bad. 4k looks the same. Maybe it is the auto settings or exporting. Just horrid. Glad I went to see some videos before buying an "allround everyday camera"
I think these days a mid priced phone will out do video wise a cheap compact like this. But really depends what you are after. Sometimes there is no getting around spending a dash more to get better quality. I've used my g7x mk2 for years and been happy but for basic vlogs am considering going back using a phone.
Overall image quality is very bad indeed
I think phone camera processing has come so far now that it's really showing up these pocket cameras more recently
flash is easy to cover with your fingers🤢🤢🤢

Camera phones are great agreed. But buying a camera for specific purpose is why they still sell. Optical zoom for sports or your kids events kind of replaces old camcorder style if you don't have front row seats.
@@MarlonKingShow agree. What troubles me is how can they make such good smartphone cameras with smaller sensors and then produce such one purpose cameras that are so cheap in terms of picture quality. They have to do cameras with digital (AI) treatment. Look at that miserable HDR...

It's really difficult to justify the prices of most of these camera's but smartphones sell harder so the prices are naturally lower with the competition
I still haven't found any camera's below the €500 price point that beat my galaxy s8, which I paid less than that for
