On this day, February 15, 1952 and 2002, the funeral of King George VI and Princess Margaret, 50 years apart. R.I.P 💔💐
I can’t believe I forgot King George VI funeral 72nd anniversary
A very sad Day for The Queen
Historical footage at its finest. RIP 🕊️
"Cherish each moment you have with someone because one day they will become a memory" Mosses Jaheím
The queen lost her beloved sister, her best confidant, a great supporter. She was devastated...
Actually they weren't that close and Margaret was extremely jealous of the Queen. Philip was her best friend and confidant
They were very close. princess Margaret spoke to the Queen on a daily basis
Her Majesty also spoke to her mother daily.
My sister almost lost me a year ago today so no wonder she was upset earlier because of my close death anniversary, I can’t even imagine what Woody.EXE must be feeling today knowing he could have lost his Queen that day but thankfully he didn’t. I honestly don’t blame Woody.EXE and my sister for being somber today as we prepare to mark the first Anniversary of when I nearly died from my illness. I’m very upset thinking that how the hell has it been one year since then? I don’t get it
Devastada y con cargo de conciencia reina y todo pero no pudo hacer nada para que margarita se casara con su gran amor 😢
@@thebreezelifebull 💩the queen and Margaret was very close. No jealousy at all
Now they are all gone. The Monarchy was strong then. Three strong women held it together. Not letting the public know too much about their personal lives, like it is now. Which I don’t think was a bad thing. Oh well one must move on. Don’t complain, don’t explain. Just think we had another 20 years of our beloved Queen who held it all together. RIP all together now at Windsor Castle. ❤
Wasn't Charles taking about letting Camila use him like a tampon back then?
Yes..
God blessed the Queen Elizabeth 👀👑🌟
The dear Queen just 7 weeks later buried her mother. 😢
And then had her Golden Jubilee a few months later. The parallel to her Platinum Jubilee year is eerie--a huge celebration/death within a short time frame.
The Queen was gone only a few months after her platinum jubilee. 😢
@VirgoCatleesi, but our almighty but gracious God allowed her to reach the anniversary before he called her to her eternal home under his wing
@@VirgoCatleesi I always had a feeling that the Queen would go in 2022. Her father went in 1952, sister and mother in 2002 and I just had the feeling that she, the last of 'us four', would go in 2022. She was neat and tidy to the end.

I was also preparing myself for the grief I would feel and I vividly remember crying the night Queen Elizabeth had covid, little did I know that I would become Queen 7 months later reigning alongside Woody.EXE that September. He met up with me his future Queen beforehand and I remember our first meeting very well discussing what we had to do when Elizabeth died.
Just lovely how The Queen supported her nephew and niece ❤
she was also burying her beloved sister, don't forget.
Thank you for posting this, it's so very interesting. One thing I can't get over is the noise from the jet planes overhead. It's no wonder the King said he doesn't want to live at Windsor. It's so sad to think that the Queen lost her sister and her mother within weeks of each other.
She was cremated because there wasn’t room for her for when the Queen Mother, and the Queen died. She is next to her Dad.😢I have never seen this footage before. Very sad.❤
The late Queen wanted a private funeral for her late sister in 2002. I’m sure my sister would have wanted a private funeral for me last year but I recovered from my illness eventually so everything was cancelled in the end but I still have my funeral plans in place for years to come. Everyone in Wales demanded a state funeral for their Queen last year and I couldn’t believe Woody.EXE finally accepted it, it will still happen in many years time though. I can’t believe I almost died at 20 and I still suffer some trauma from it and today marks the first anniversary of when I almost died so i honestly don’t blame Woody.EXE and my sister being somber today and even I’m quite emotional
What a shame that Princess Margaret didn’t marry Group Captain Townsend. She was so in love with him and he loved her. Her love life was briefly happy at the beginning of her marriage to Anthony Armstrong Jones-The Earl of Snowden. After the divorce, it seemed like the Princess just wanted to be in the company of people who accepted her as she was. Poor dear-may she rest in peace.😢😢
Looking at P Philip & Q Elizabeth arrive….tho I know it’s been over a year since she passed….it’s still difficult to truly believe she is really gone….never coming back…. she just …belongs…..
17:39 Queen Elizabeth 😢
When she dabbed her eyes. Very emotional.
Over twenty years ago. Still sad.
Why does hearing a bagpipe make me weep so? 😢 🏴
It is caused by a physiological response stimulating part of the nervous system and what is called the reward centre of the brain. Only 25 percent of people have the response.
because it makes your ears hurt.
@@gillchambers9008I concur it isn't a particularly nice sound.
It is to me the sound of sorrow.
Loved watching this🥰😻The curtsy by the Queen’s niece slayed me.😽
I didn’t recall the timing was that close
The Fact she lost her younger sister and The Queen Mother lost her younger daughter then six weeks later The Queen Mother died The Queen lost her mother now it was just her lost the family she grew up with
The Maroon Rolls-Royce Lady Sarah and Lord Linley got into after Her Majesty The Queen had left, had been their Late Mother's H.R.H. Princess Margaret's Personal Automobile given to her by H.M.. The Queen at some point. Apparently Margaret even drove it herself sometimes when she was younger. I believe it was the Silver Shadow Model.😢🙏🙏🙏🙏
Margaret wasnt allowed to have her boy toys anymore. She drank and smoked herself to death. The injury to her foot when she burned herself in hot water was an injury she didnt recover from. Her mother drank a lot too but wasn't as bitter. Living alone for decades and not having any real purpose wasnt healthy.
A little more help about who is who and the condolences on the flowers would help. Her son looks so much like his father that I first thought that was Tony the ex husband.
I notice the flowers from the Gloucesters (you could see the signatures of Princess Alice and his son Richard the Duke of Gloucester on the card), the King and Queen of Spain, the Queen of Thailand, and the King and Queen of Sweden (the one with CGS monogram).
@@schoof51 Thank you !
@schoof51 Do you have any idea of the relevance of "KINGCAN" at 10.30? I've looked into it but can't find anything.

Duchess Kent apperantly stunning🎉💐
Those were the good ol days not so much any more…
Where’s Princess Catherine 💔⚔️🌹
Heartbreaking!
I wonder if Margaret was as cold to her children as Elizabeth and Philip were to theirs. Neither sister looked motherly
An eventful and sorrowful day.
22 years ago not many still alive.
Now King Charles is ill 22 years later
Lot are alive including the queens cousins
@magnacz its sad, but death is a part of life, no one can avoid it

Such A solid presence you feel watching this I just can't help but think of that book ,a child's book Caudbury's Coffin.
Princess Margaret was cremated, so was the urn in the coffin or did they cremate her after the funeral?
More like afterward
They cremated her afterwards. It was her wish to be cremated as 1. She didn't like the fact she would slowly decay and 2. There wasn't going to be room for all of them in the chapel. She wanted all of them to be together when the time came.
@xquisite7791 people are cremated AFTER the funeral
That heavy casket though was not necessary those poor guys

Princess Margaret was so posh that she refused to attend the royal command performances because she hated the thought of having to meet Dame Edna Everage. "The thought of engaging an Australian in small talk makes me feel quite ill" she once said.
Can anyone tell me what was her cause of death ? Not being negative, I just don't know.
She had several strokes.
It was her 4th stroke in 3 years
@@normasarsby1350 thanks

Strokes. Margaret was a heavy drinker and lifelong smoker, and sadly it caught up with her.

Her 2 children are obviously in "sombre" mode but not devastated. She was never a great close loving mother to them, too selfish to have much interest.
Her death was not unexpected . Her children had time to grieve before the funeral
The Queen was very close to them. Stood in a lot for their mother.
Actually she was a close and loving mother and grandmother.
She was a very loving mother and very close to her children. They are upper crust British and trained from childhood not to show emotion in public. That is considered undignified.
@lynlee874 she close to her children, but they are members of the royal family
and not brought up to show their feelings in public
I wish to change the past and meet Princess Margaret and have her stay healthy before it's too late. I have to stay for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics to help Team USA with books to help read to win Gold in Men's and Women's Ice Hockey. I will do that in the 1980s and 1990s.
What?

@@chrisamon6880 you’re deluded and talking absolute nonsense. Princess Margaret died years ago in 2002 from a stroke and cardiac issues caused by years of her smoking and drinking. What’s she got to do with ‘taking down the bad guys and saving lives?’
