@@sbtopjosh4098 My guess is that in a way, she (the Queen) perhaps welcomed it and had come to grips with it. I remember when my grandfather died he sort of was at a stage where he welcomed death (he was not in the best of shape, was 81 years old, and my grandmother -- his wife -- had died ten years earlier almost to the day, and I could tell in the last few weeks leading up to his death, he was ready and sort of welcomed it. Although in regards to the queen, I do remember the clips from 2021 (Christmas) and she seemed much healthier in those clips than she had been in recent months/weeks leading up to her death so my guess is that her health must have declined significantly over the past 8 months. And granted while life isn't necessarily a race, it's got to be a bit disappointing when you reach the old age of 99 and pass away, thinking if only you could have lived a little longer to hit triple digits..... but they both lived long lives, longer than the average person (not many get to their 90's and certainly their late 90's).
I’ve found a deep respect for this family throughout my adulthood. I was a teenager when Diana died, and remember how major that was, but I didn’t know much about the royal family as a whole. It is, for a lot of us Brits, comforting to know that regardless of who's PM, there's a head of state (with pretty much zero.powers) who can counsel and advise the PM through crissis. Someone who has been there, done it, and got the t-shirt already. Rather than having s total newbie at the helm as most non monarchies do.
The hardest part for me, watching Prince Philips funeral, was seeing the Queen, alone, sitting on her pew with her head lowered. I think wearing the mask, and a large hat, gave her the privacy to keep her head lowered while she shed tears without us watching. There was however one moment where we saw her wipe a tear away and it was heartbreaking to see her so small, frail and grieving the loss of her beloved heart. Thankfully she didn't have to wait too much longer to be with her beloved once again. The Princess, truly met her prince the day she met Philip.
I’m really missing him and the grief caused my nose bleed in the middle of the night and I cried for Prince Philip soon as it got everywhere but I was panicking and it causes it to go all over you. I hate nose bleeds so much and it’s horrible when it gets over you. I had no idea what caused it

To be fair I think these are American commentators who were misinformed and I actually thought it was the archbishop of Canterbury as well even after looking up a picture of him.

@@nicolelawless3199 really
She was lonely without her Prince Phillip. Probably allowed herself to go..
Death is part of life , her family have to be thankful she reached such age .
But, the story of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip is just an inspiration to us all, at least to me. Prince Philip sacrificed so much to be with his Lilibet, and he adored her until the end. I just have so much respect for them. My deepest condolences to prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Prince Andrew. Mostly to the Queen. Prayers from USA.
This was a lovely tribute Miss.

Everything here was so respectful and dignified.
Rest In Peace Prince Phillip and my condolences to the Queen and the Royal Family.
I’m really missing him and the grief caused my nose bleed in the middle of the night and I cried for Prince Philip soon as it got everywhere but I was panicking and it causes it to go all over you. I hate nose bleeds so much and it’s horrible when it gets over you. I had no idea what caused it

Hello Anna how are you doing today and family?
I’m watching this on the one year anniversary. I’m British but I’ve always loved to see how America reports on these events. This still gives me chills. Seeing the Queen sitting alone, which by the way she insisted upon as she didn’t want to be treated any differently to how others were who had to endure funerals during covid. I’m not sure if it was mentioned here but the simple flowers on the coffin just read “lilabet” his pet name for her. The black carriage with the ponies were one of his biggest loves. His flat cap and the little plastic tub of sugar cubes were so touching & really showed how simple he was. Xx

The British Monarchy if I'm not mistaken is one of the most stable in the world. They have well guided protocols, their customs and traditions are well planned and their children are taught fine manners from a very young age. Media will blast you with all sorts of information that after the Queen is gone, the Royal Family is on the brink of decline. That's not true.
ANOTHER CORRECTION. At 12:10 that is not the Archbishop of Canterbury who greets the Queen at the Galilee Porch of St George's Chapel. It is David Conner, Dean of Windsor. He also officiated at the 2018 weddings of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle and also Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank. He is preceded by his Verger
To be fair I think these are American commentators who were misinformed and I actually thought it was the archbishop of Canterbury as well even after looking up a picture of him.

As the commentator didn't mention it and for anyone curious, the lead party right at the start of the procession also contained Mr. Peter Philips, son of the Princess Royal and her 1st husband Captain Mark Philips. Peter is the eldest grandchild of the Queen and D of E. He was positioned between William and Harry. Also present was Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Princess Royal's 2nd husband. Next to him was Lord David Linley, 2nd Earl of Snowden. Son of the late Princess Margaret and the late Earl Snowden, David Armstrong-Jones, and nephew to the Queen.

As i recall, he designed that vehicle for that use.
Hello 👋 how are you
Prince Philip and the Queen first met in 1939. They've known each other for over 80 years, and spent 73 years of those married.
Prince Philip didn't have an easy start in the family due to his German heritage, but he stood by QE2 all those decades.
I cannot and don't want to imagine the loss the Queen must have felt. Her last Christmas announcement, where she spoke so fondly of him, ugh, the feels, especially seeing her all alone in the pew. She might have been privileged, a Queen, but in that moment, she was 'just a grieving widow'.
Actually they first met at a wedding in 1935.
The war stood by me for 13 years now and it watched me almost die in 2023 so I couldn’t imagine how the war must’ve felt. I’ve been better for 19 months now and still doing well despite my trauma

She rode behind him. What deep respect since he had to walk behind her for 70 years.
The fact he wanted a Land Rover just summed up his personality
‘Thy great promise, that all those who go down in sea in ships…’. Says it all really. He gave up his naval career to step one step behind behind a great lady and support her all the way.
It is, I think, more moving without the yards of folk that would have been invited absent Covid. The lone piper and the Greek Orthodox hymn at the end were spine chilling. HMQ dignified as always - shades of Granny (Queen Mary), keeping firmly to the rules, social distancing et al, unlike so many of her Ministers. Credit (rare) to the Prime Minister for announcing that there would be no gov't representation so that family could attend. Spectacularly simple.
