- On this day in 1994, the Royal Family came together to celebrate the wedding of Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones and Daniel Chatto. The only daughter of Princess Margaret, Lady Sarah Chatto’s wedding was attended by her aunt and uncle, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and her cousins, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Princess Anne, Princess Royal, and Prince Edward. Diana, Princess of Wales also attended, arriving ahead of Prince Charles, who accompanied Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Charles and Diana had been separated for two years at the time of the wedding.

She looked fabulous. Her dress was understated elegance. Gorgeous.
She always dresses with total elegance and class.
My favourite of all the royal weddings. Sarah is one classy lady.
This is true style, even after 30 years her dress and that of her bridesmaids still look fresh and elegant. Lovely!
Hi Rita Merry Christmas in advance ❤
I think Sarah’s dress was my very favorite royal dress. It is unique but classic at the same time, it will never look dated. The bridesmaids dresses were beautiful and classic as well.
My thoughts, as well❤️
Its true. More is less. This wedding was perfection in its simplicity.
It's less is more.....😋
Hi Stacey Merry Christmas in advance ❤
Beautiful dress, and the bridesmaids looked exquisite too.
For wedding gowns, hers really stands the test of time. Classic.
The press sound like a bunch of baboons yelling and bellowing.
It almost looks like Caroline Kennedy’s wedding gown. Both beautiful!
Bride and Bridesmaids dressses absolute class
I absolutely love her dress! And the bridesmaids were lovely with the flowers woven into their updos. So lovely to see the royal family as they were back then - even Edward and Sophie before they were married.
Hello 👋how are you doing?
Hi Debra Merry Merry Christmas in advance ❤
Go away, Troll!@@franklinstephen3268
I love these time capsules. Very bittersweet. Very nostalgic.
You can't help but think if anyone could have had an inkling of where the entire family is now, all that has taken place in the years that have followed. You couldn't have predicted any of it....
Diana gone, The Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, Prince Phillip, The Queen, Andrew's scandal, William & Harry's rift, the hope of a new modern dawn for the family with Meghan's arrival and how it tumbled down, Charles finally on the throne, Camilla as Queen....
I wonder what Lady Sarah thinks when she watches a video like this and reflects on the many characters arriving at her wedding.
It was awful how intrusive the media were back then, even at a family wedding! The public were very respectful but not the media with all the shouting as the family arrived. I'm sure the couple didn't enjoy that part of their special day. However, Lady Sarah looked wonderful in that beautiful timeless dress, as did her bridesmaids. But then Lady Sarah always looks beautiful.
I enjoyed reading your contemplative post.
How lovely to see Sarah's wedding again after nearly 30 years . Well done
Sarah's dress was gorgeous. One of my favourites, just love it.
and yes it was lovely and she looks so much like her mother
...and it's wonderful to see her marriage is still intact after so many years.
@@sheilawhite8314, That seems a really od comment to me! The most notable features of Sarah's face are her rather snub nose abd her very large mouth, both of which are like her father, and not at all like her conservatively beautiful mother.
The clothes! Fabulous! And none of them would look out of place today.
Jasper Conran was the designer I believe. The dresses were fabulous 🎉
Yes, 30years ago 😂😂😂😂
Hi Helen Merry Christmas in advance ❤
Classic timeless elegance
The best Royal wedding dress ever.
Absolutely. Beautiful, romantic, original, including the bridesmaids and stunning flowers.
Hi Nanny Merry Christmas in advance ❤
The most beautiful one! Royal by character and intelligence! She looks almost the same,30 years later!❤
No, she doesn't. She aged rather a lot
Her wedding is absolutely beautiful
The most stylish royal wedding ever.
Hello 👋how are you doing?
Hi Iris Merry Christmas in advance ❤
Princess Diana always gets the loudest cheers and she was beautiful as always
Yes, and as always, knowing that the women will co-ordinate their outfits, and all wear something in a pale colour for a morning wedding, Diana makes a statement by NOT co-ordinating and wearing an outfit that is either dark navy or black (i am not sure which).
@@arealphoney It was navy.
Thank you for posting this. Sarah was a beautiful English Rose of a bride.
Hi Susan Merry Christmas in advance ❤
Happy Anniversary. Sarah's dress is my second favorite royal wedding dress her bridesmaids had fantastic dresses as well.
Hi Karen Merry Christmas in advance ❤
Whar a radiant Bride and bridesmaids. Both the Brides and bridesmaid dresses were so beautiful and very classy didnt realise that the Bride looked so much like her mother both beautiful
I love the way that, Prince Phillip was always looking at Her Majesty, admiringly making sure she was OK & caring for her always. I loved his pink carnation! How unassuming they arrived in a small car not a huge ancient Royal hearse. There will not be two like them again, I’m afraid.
Hi Laura Merry Christmas in advance ❤
They arrived in the new Bently.
Princess Ann got in the car like a boss, giving enough clearance for the big hat. She moves like an athlete.
Princes Anne, what a great figure as well.
@@arealphoney Horse riding and discipline
She really did!
She still boss...
Excellent, love these type of videos. More long royal videos please, especially the 70s/80s/90s of the Queen, state visits abroad and special occasions!
Lovely Susan Hampshire. Lady Sarah was a stunning bride. 😊❤
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
Hi Whippy Merry Christmas in advance ❤
lol the crowds kept going wild for Lady Di ❤🎉
Perfect!
@@patricialevy5950
Not perfect by any means. The dress was inappropriate for a wedding. The women in the Royal Family would always negotiate on colours. In this case they are in pale colours with the Queen in floral, and Margaret in a more elegant classic pastel blue as Mother of the Bride....... Then there us Diana in black. Typical!
One of my top 3 royal brides...so pretty .I just loved her dress and her bridesmaids.
I sm curious to know what your other faves are?
Gorgeous, the Bride & all. Understated perfection. So happy to see HMTQ jubilant! Princess Margaret looked well & the Queen Mother gave the day to Sarah in her understated off white from head to toe outfit, it was beautiful & simple for her! Thanks for uploading this. Even the guests were exceptionally well put together in an arty way.
Princess Diana got the loudest applause from the crowds. Far more than the Queen. That's a fact.
Diana should not have worn black! 😢
Let me just point out to you what an extraordinary liar that woman was.
At this point in time she was officially separated from Charles.
1. Does she get a wedding invitation? Yes. ..... keep in mind that she had tried to get her stepmother blocked from her own huge weddong at the Abbey.
2. Did Diana arrive as a MEMBER of the ROYAL FAMILY?
Yes, she did! In one of the chauffeur driven cars, in the procession of Royals.
3. Where was Diana living? In a bed-sit? Not quite.
In a twenty room appartment at London's most beautiful Palace, with a full staff and an office to manage her engagements.
What you see is poor, poor, badly treated, neglected, Diana ..... arriving in the Queen's procession, in one of the Queen's cars.
And then ..... she called in a film crew, to spread lies about the family, that have never gone away.
Thiscwoman, who wore a blaxk dress to Lady Sarah's wedding, knowing all the other Royal women woukd wear pastel, and that black was onlyvfor evening..... she is a nasty piece of work... and never satisfied wirlth her status as Princess of Wales, if the Queen was present.
She looks so pretty.
Lovely wedding dress and perfect figure
And most of the ladies wearing real hats, not silly bits of net and feathers - so much more elegant.
Hi Margaret Merry Christmas in advance ❤
One of them had a net over her entire face
Which puts even more shade on the York girls for their stupid hats at William & Catherine’s wedding!
@@jody-annesullivan4547Stupid hats???
I would just call them to be the most weird looking hats!
The outfit of Diana was top !
I cant be bothered with that type of nonsense! Dian's outfit was NOT top.
Blxack is not worn to weddings. Diana would have know that it was considered inappropriate.
That Jasper Conran wedding dress is my favourite royal wedding dress.
I accidentally met Lady Sarah and her husband once. I was on dtin the Police not related to them and they stopped their car to ask about something. Both wore paint and clay splattered clothes. I heard she is a sculptress. Both were lovely to talk with.. very polite and very very nice indeed. They thanked me profusely for the advice.
These things happen! I got lost at Schipol Airport with two children. I saw a tall handsome blonde airline pilot coming along, so I asked for difections. He looks surprisingly familiar but I could not work out how I knew his face ..... until I discovered that King Willem Alexander still flies planes for KLM.
Just can’t get over her dress and bridesmaids dresses! Whenever I see them I’m just stunned by the beauty and elegance! Truly beautiful 🤩 😊
Sarah the most beautiful dress of all the royals
Nice to see lord snowdon and princess margaret on good terms here.
How else would they have behaved on the day?
@@misst.e.a.187 they could've ignored each other, as some exes do.
Lovely footage!
The fact that the crowd screamed the most for Diana ❤
I am see everyone and I am caring HRH Princes Anne love her she so Awesome. And Lady Sarah amazing.
Hello 👋 Ruth, hope all’s well you?
lovely wedding i especially loved the big hats
The princess royal‘s hat Anne was fab!
Simply and splendid 🎉
Hi Maria Merry Christmas in advance ❤
A mais linda noiva da família real, de todos os tempos. Casamento lindo, noiva linda, damas lindas, tudo perfeito.
Vdd e ainda estão juntos até hoje
And she never wore makeup again. Nice to see the wedding. Never seen it before
😂😂😂
All the Bridal Party ad minimal hair & makeup. Less is best sometimes & this was it. Youth, beauty & pretty minimal flowers for the Bridal party. I loved the Bride & Attendants dresses, brilliant & class all the way. The nicest wedding, I’ve ever seen.
I love her smile ❤
😮 stunning 🤩
The cheers for Diana😢
Booooooo! 😂
Wow, you can clearly see a resemblance with Princess Charlotte! Timeless dress!
My thoughts exactly. Princess Charlotte reminds me so much of this lovely bride.
Yes, I agree!
Indeed!
The amount of money the Monarchy brings in to the UK is astounding. Yet, some complain about having to pay ..34 euros per citizen , per year... Sad.😢
Sad? SAD?!

The horrible tote bag Angus Deayton's lady companion was carrying though...at a wedding.
I wondered why Princess Margaret arrived after The Queen Mother and then realized Princess Margaret was given precedence as the mother of the bride. Did Angus Deayton arrive late?
My god this was 30 years ago 😯Sarah looked lovely, I wish we have seen more of her over the years but possibly she wants to retain a private life and I respect that. Interestingly, I believe this was the first public appearance of Prince Edward and Sophie together. Sarah and Edward's are the only grandchildren of the Queen Mother who have not divorced.
Enjoying this ❤
Lovely to see actress Susan Hampshire there.
It would help if you could name some of the guests that are not well known. Spotted some actors and celebrities before Meghan and Harry's wedding. Saw Diana in navy blue for a moment. She looked wonderful as always. Charles arrived with grandma didn't he. Edward and Sophie in younger days.
Sophie is not there.
The video starts with Edward walking in with a lady in a cream colored hat on his right. Isn’t that Sophie ? @@direfranchement
@@direfranchement
At 21:13 Edward leaves with the same lady in a cream colored great hat with a big bow. That’s Sophie and the photographers are yelling her name to get a picture. Right ?
@@direfranchementActually is was Sophie with Edward at Lady Sarah’s wedding. I just found some photos of them at it. Most of the women’s hat brims were low on their foreheads so it makes it tricky to see their faces in this video.
Among the other people are Sarah's mother Princess Margaret in pale blue, with Sarah's father Lord Snowdon, (Anthony Armstrong-Jones), and her brother David, Viscount Linley. People arriving in the cars include the Queen's cousin, the Duke of Kent, his wife Kathryn, and their two sons, the Earl of St Andrews and Lord zNicholas. I also saw Princess Alexandra.
They still dress the same at British weddings after all these years. Everyone looks so pleased with themselves.
It's rare to see Sophie and Diana in one event video.
Lovely❤
Hi Jane Merry Christmas in advance ❤
princess diana is the greatest thing to have happened to the royal family
21:19 Princess Anne 😍😍😍
That spaceship of a hat 😅(about the 2:40 mark)
I liked Sophie’s hat!
@@christinechildress5021I love hats in general, that one was just SO BIG!! But as long as she was happy with it and sat in the back I guess it was ok 😂
OMG It's 1994. The guests could have doubled as extras on Four Weddings & a Funeral. ❤Loved Sarah's Dress 👗
The pressure to always look and dress perfectly which I can attest to In my life in the public eye. It is both a gift and a curse which the royal family and I deal with, I hope, grace and resiliency.
Such a sophisticated Marriage.
Good for Sarah for defying the RF and inviting Princess Diana.
12:00 & 21:30 wasn't it Diana?🤩
Yes. That’s Diana wearing a wonderfully chic navy and white ensemble. She arrived solo because she and the Prince of Wales were separated. But she and Sarah always got along well and she wanted to be at her wedding. Sarah is a darling - she was interviewed on a documentary about her aunt, Queen Elizabeth, and you could just tell that she’s an absolute sweetheart.
Not David Chatto. Sarah married Daniel Chatto
She was a beautiful bride
What a cocky bunch of royalty. Not even having the decency to waive to the people that showed up....
Wasn't Sarah Armstrong jones the main bridesmaid in Diana and Charles ' wedding?
Yeah it was her.
A classy lady without doubt
Sarah’s wedding dress and Fergie’s were the nicest
Hi Rosie Merry Christmas in advance ❤
9:13 princess alexandra and angus olgivy, with their son James. The cousins were all born in 1964, Sarah, James, Helen and Edward.
the bride looks beautiful but the bridesmaid dresses are almost identical
I love hats, and love wearing them, the hat business has progressed I love it has
Imagine standing on the street to see celebrities. lol
Top pe.
Top country.
God Bless you ma'am.
Secondo me e' stata la famiglia reale piu' affascinante del mondo❤️
Looks like all the royal children born in 1964 have long and happy marriages. Helen Windsor, James Ogilvy, Sarah Armstrong-Jones and Prince Edward Duke of Edinburgh.
The Queens most recent dresser left the rest in the shade..She must have loved the style she created for her.
2:39 that hat💖💖
Where was this
❤❤❤❤❤
Timeless! Bride and bridesmaids dresses, just gorgeous. Does anyone know what church this is? It seems very ‘on the street’?
Where was she married? I can't remember.
Smart dressers, all!
When I think of her it's as Princess Diana maid of honor
She was a bridesmaid.....a maid of honour is , in GB , an adult married woman attendant.
Hi April Merry Christmas in advance ❤
8:20 who are they?
💕Diana
Looks like movie 4 weddings and a funeral
Beautiful bride and bridesmaids. I did not see Andrew Fergie or their girls. Did they not attend the wedding?
😮
How did Margaret have such beautiful children?
Who gets the loudest cheer ….Diana …..❤🙏💐👌😎🥰
Some lovely hats. A few clunkers but mostly gorgeous.
Кто такая Леди Сара Армстронг- Джонс?
Fashion seemed very muted back then
It's not fashion; it's how the British aristos and their lackies dress. Reserved and timeless.
no its the 90s. The queen wore a neon green dress towards the end of her life.@@misst.e.a.187
