I’m just realizing the hot air blowing out the side of the laptop is an excellent feature because it keeps my mouse hand from turning into a block of ice with icicle fingers.
Easily one of the best review videos I've seen. Exceptional breadth of information, quickly delivered. And also quite considerable depth, touching many different use cases. Massive thumbs up, and subscribed.
4:40 - the Zephyrus M16 and G16 do make sense as more lightweight and less "gamery" alternatives to models like the Strix Scar. A lot of people want a powerful laptop that isn't too over the top design wise with lots of RGB lighting.
Thank you, this review came at the right time. Just placed an order a Legion Slim 7. I'm OK with the AMD+4060 combo and I'd prefer a cooler machine. Also saved some £££ over the Legion Slim 7i I was convinced I needed. Really like the reviews (watched the full 7i one as well) to the point useful info in an entertaining but not stupid way.
The purpose of Zephyrus M16 is for people that want to compromise a bit on the performance for a slimmer laptop (compared to the Strix Scar). I think this could be a solid contender for the best gaming laptop for most people, if you consider the RTX4070 variant which goes for a bit less than $2k but it's often on sale. If the budget allows it, the RTX 4080 is also a good choice for this model. And in my opinion you get more for your money than you get on the 7i. The Lenovo software is disgusting, the design is so much nicer ( the way that the display just starts at the bottom of the chasis , but not only ). In terms of performance, I think they're the same with rtx 4070. There's much to say, but yeah, I think you completely dismissed the model for no reason, other than you just had a 4090 model of it and didn't consider any other model.
@@zeroxinfinity5816i think M16 is best with 4070 due to the slim design. A more powerful GPU could overheat a bit the system, so I wouldn't go further than 4080. There is a difference obviously between 4080 and 4090( you can check TH-cam videos on it), but the biggest gap is between 4070 and 4080. If you really need 4090 power, I would look for something else. The Strix Scar 16 or 18 is better, but also thicker. I don't think any laptop offers good RTX 4090 performance in a slim design, even 4080 is a bit of stretch. Perhaps the zephyrus duo 2023 since it has good intake due to the screen lifting up, but that's quite expensive, you need to look for reviews. I also saw Asus recently launched some X16, which can use external GPU, if that's something you're interested in ( for example get a model with lower end GPU and get an external 4090 or something).
@@93xDmario Thanks for the detailed comparison! I bought the 4090 model a month ago from Best Buy, its still within the return period (2 months). I got it open box for around $3200 (with taxes). My biggest gripe with it now is the subpar battery life, and the fast battery degradation. Its already down 7 percent of its original battery health which makes me think it had a defective battery. Plus I don't like the keyboard at all. Its a fingerprint/dust magnet and it looks awful outdoors. The screen is excellent though. The miniled is great! Other than that I don't really have that many complaints over the performance, I was playing AC Mirage 4k for about 60-70 fps and 100-110 fps with frame generation. I think atleast for this generation of games it should be fine I guess ( but I doubt it for the next gen). But Im not sure whether to return this and even if I do what to get lol!
@@zeroxinfinity5816 RTX 4090 will be good for a long period of time, don't stress about it. When a new game is released, nvidia also launches a driver to optimize the GPU for it, so it'll be fine. 4k gaming at 60-70 fps is great, you don't need more than that. And games which require higher fps, like moba/shooters, will definetely run at max refresh rate for your screen even at highest settings (probably not on 4k however). It'll take like 3-4 years until games will demand way more, as the game engines get updated. For the battery issue, it's indeed strange, perhaps an issue from factory with the battery itself. Wear is normal, but not to this extent. For example I have 19% wear on my almost 3 years old laptop. I did take care of it, kept the battery charge at 60%-80% max when I used it mostly on cable, but still, 7% in a month is insane regardless of charge level. In the first year you shouldn't see more than a few %, perhaps 7-10% is what I would expect after a year if you didn't take care of it at all. If you don't want to complicate your life with warranty and all, I would just return it and simply get another one brand new / look for other models. For the keyboard and chasis, indeed, mine is also a fingerprint magnet and gets pretty dirty quickly. I have some cleaning kit which I use and it held pretty well in time, the material itself I mean. For the keyboard itself, not sure what to tell you, I still hold on to my laptop because it has an optomechanical keyboard. It's sooooo good to type and game on it, it has a really satisfying clicky feeling and really good travel / response. Sadly Asus doesn't make those anymore ( it was only one generation I think), I guess people didn't like it because it's a bit more noisy than a normal keyboard, but for me it's absolutely insane and if I have to go back to a normal membrane keyboard I'll get depression. All-in-all, personally I would return it so I don't have to deal with warranty for the battery ( since I think that batteries also have a shorter warranty time ), since you don't know if they will replace it. Technically, it still could be "within parameters" so they might reject your request. If you choose the same model or not, it's another good question. I don't think there's another laptop on the slim side that is better than this, unless you go for the most premium stuff, like zephyrus duo 16 or perhaps Razer (tho, razer got thicker this year). However, those are way more expensive I think. Sadly 2024 I don't think will bring much for gaming laptops...we probably won't have new GPUs and about CPUs not sure, but the current generation is enough for gaming aspect for a long time. So, unless you're willing to pay more, you'll have to look at 14" models ( lenovo slim 5 14" ) or maybe lenovo slim 7. Still, not sure any of them have RTX 4090 variants, probably not even 4080. I think alienwares are also pretty slim, like M16 model, probably a little thicker than Zephyrus M16, but I think their design is, simply put, ugly af and the price is more premium. They do have some white models, which would reduce significantly the fingerprints you see. Not sure what to tell you man, but I would start by returning that model. Afterwards, you could decide to reorder it, try something else as mentioned above or just wait for like 4 to 6 months to see what comes up on the market. Perhaps, since next year we won't have new GPUs almost surely, they'll focus more on cooling, design, making thinner laptops, etc...but no guarantee obviously. It could be worse tho, looking at the model you have in my local shops, the RTX 4090 variant is $4950. The 4070 variant is $2850 (32gb of ram) so...enjoy the good life of having best-buy and other such stores :D ... I got depression when I saw the 4070 variant on best-buy for $1500 ( it had $450-500 off )... In eastern europe appreantly we're "rich AF" and can totally afford this s!%t xD
After a few gaming notebooks, i bought a Slim 7 with AMD CPU and can absolutely agree with your recommendation on every point. And in combination with the Lenovo Legion Toolkit app, the experience is even better because you can really customise everything to your needs.
@@nikhilanandpandit8644 i have the slim 7 amd with 4060 and the battery life doing light tasks like homework with lots of brower tabs open i get ~6-8hrs with little tweaking
The problem with the 7i is that the 4080 so significantly outperforms the 4070 this gen that despite the higher cost, it is actually a practical upgrade, even for those who want the best 'bang for the buck.' With that said, this was an outstanding comparison, and the new 'talent' seemed quite comfortable in front of the camera in this their first Just Josh video. Not sure how long they've been with you, but they seem to be outstanding hires :)
@@DocHudson420 Well, I just got a Pro 7i with a 4080, and it doesn't run hot or noisy in the least, unless you press it in high performance gaming, but even then it's acceptable. For daily use, there are no issues at all. So, even if the Slim is a bit more neat and portable, I think the trade offs just aren't worth it. 4060 or 4070 are not very much an upgrade this gen, but the 4080 is and has at least acceptable 12 GB of VRAM. You have to think a bit long term. It isn't more expensive if it lasts 2 years longer.
Shouldn’t be here because I just got my (awesome) Legion Slim 7 AMD a few weeks ago but I was curious to see how it sized up against the competition. I’m glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves. One thing that usually never gets mentioned is gaming in quiet mode. It’s really solid performance with barely audible noise! I personally feel good fps with a nearly silent laptop is more impressive than high fps from a loud laptop.
All of Josh's complaints about cooling and design issues are valid, but they'll never be solved because the people who make the decisions about how these laptops will be built and arranged don't speak anything but Chinese. They'll never, ever, EVER see this video or any video like it. Upvote this so Josh and team see it.
Great video, guys! The only remark I have is that in the 4060/4070 range for laptops that perform well, have a great screen, good keyboard and are relatively quiet you are missing this generation's Asus ROG Flow X16. Those are, while more expensive, the main competitors for the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 series.
Josh, keep up the great work, by far the best laptop reviewer out there. Because unlike the others, you use the laptop for more than just gaming or video editing. You actually have a good methodology and ranking system for work laptops. Recent years have proven that companies must provide us with products that can compete in all aspects: study, work, AND gaming. That means battery life, portability, even aesthetics matters. You seem to be the only TH-camr who realized that people want an "all-in-one" and you help decide what you should compromise.
These 3 4080 laptops Asus scar 16, Alienware x16 and legion 7i pro ( not slim ) are my shortlist laptop.. end up with legion for value of money and yes, Im very happy with its performance, cooling, sound system, display brightness.
I don’t like that the Legion Slim 7 tops out with 4070 graphics. I wish a 4080 option was available, even in a low-power variant just so you could have something with more than an 8 GB frame buffer. Lenovo offers a low-watt 4080 in the ThinkPad P1, which I believe is even slimmer than the Legion so it’s not a matter of chassis or cooling.
I bought this laptop for $800 at best buy on black friday sale. I'm going to use it for graphic design and content creation. GIGABYTE 15.6" 144Hz FHD Intel i7-12650H 16GB RAM RTX 4060 512GB SSD
I can speak to the ASUS TUF laptop, I've had it for about 3 years and is running strong as helll. Limited only by the graphics card, it is such an affordable option to run games like Siege at High graphics perfectly. And it has THE BEST fans ever, absolutely quiet as hell, and always stays cool. I've upgraded to the HP OMEN, which is simply put...Dreamy. I can run Forza Horizon 5 on max graphics on damn near every setting with 80fps, only limited by it saying "Low Video Memeory" if I put every single useless setting on max too lol. It's fans are LOUD, and you always need it in performance mode for it to game smoothly but goddamn does it work well!
Josh - great video (!!!) - but I have to share that the Blade 16 (4k/minLED) has major display blooming and color accuracy issues - depending on which panel you receive. They do not include the capability to switch between single zone and multi zone (like Asus). There are a few threads on reddit and razors support pages. Also, the Alienware screen is dark (300 nits) - which is crazy. Just FYI...
Thank you re the Blade 16 - I wasn't aware. Re the Alienware we are aware its a dark screen, I believe we had the reading in one of our graphs and we did factor that into our scoring
Great insight all-around, I know this had to take some time. And to deliver all that info in less than 15 minutes is crazy! In defense of the Zephyrus M16, I’ll say it’s a very attractive option for those who want a nice 16” laptop but don’t want to deal with how big/heavy/gamery the Scar 16 is. It has a more efficient chip for better battery life than the Scar as well.
Agreed, it really is more comparable to the slim 7, especially at the 4060 and 4070 variants. It’s a really sleek looking machine and is a lot more portable than the desktop replacement laptops.
I returned it (the M16) and got a Razer. what a mistake... the M16 screen is excellent, performance is almost as strong as the Razer, and the build quality was excellent. I returned the Razer as well. 😞
I'm really liking the Legion Slim 5 14 as a software engineering student who games. It's a nice size: 14,5" 16:10 OLED display with a 2.8K resolution which makes everything look very crisp and it has 140W PD over USB-C so I bought the one from Rocoren for pretty cheap and I use that same charger for my phone etc. My actual charger can stay at home for when I want to game since it's annoying to keep plugging it out and in, in my setup since I manage my cables pretty neat. I get around 7 hours of battery life with normal school use in battery saving mode, quiet mode and 80% brightness: coding, browsing, running VM's (without stressing it too much of course). Most my "lab" sessions are 3 hours and I leave with 60-70% battery left. The only downside imo is that it doesn't have a mini displayport like my previous laptop but only HDMI. So since most ultrawide monitors don't support HDMI 2.1 I'm forced to use up an USB-C port for my monitor. An ethernet port would be nice too.

Best portable "light" gaming laptop : Asus Flow X13. I have it and I love it (with RTX4050) ! I come from the Alienware 15 R3 (2017) and the Asus G14 2021.
I got the TUF A16 a few days ago and I’m extremely satisfied with it. Worked right out of the box with no troubleshooting needed (as someone coming from a desktop this is such a relief), plays AAA titles at 60+ fps with ease, and it only cost me $750 at my local Best Buy which fit perfectly within my budget. Never thought I’d be using a laptop as my primary computer, but here we are.
750?? damn thats a steal. i was looking into the A16 sandstorm variant yesterday and it costs 1k in ASUS website. do you mind teling if the 16 gb ram sufficient for your games, and link me to the best buy? thanks
Love your channel/reviews, love that you really are using hardware for more than a minute before giving an opinion. Also I love the technical details - spreadsheets, graphs etc. What I would like to see less of is cutting - please cut on cutting :) You are fast in delivery - that's OK, more information in less time - I'm for it. But I would like to see longer cuts, leaving out those that are not informational - like when you are talking how fast or slow is internet browsing on a laptop there is a cut to video of (generic) internet browsing on a laptop - that's really unnecessary IMO because some very informational cuts are second long and could be longer. Also all other cuts that simply can not be experienced thru the video (typing, temperature, even sound can't be really perceived as live/in person) - we rely on your word. So I would like to see fewer cuts, longer cuts to the actual laptop and spreadsheets/graphs.
Thank you for the great review. Funny how life works sometimes, i have been looking for a new laptop for over a week now and i finally decided to buy a legion 7, then i come across your video and you recommend me the legion 7, just lovely!
Thanks for these reviews. Legion Slim 7i with 4070 purchased. Local store had a sale for 1899, so I couldn't resist. Will put it through its paces and see how it feels, used as a workstation, less for gaming.
I just purchased the Razer blade 16 with a 4090 and jesus, the immense power this thing has is absolutely a beast of a machine. It does get warm, not too loud, it dosent bother me. Im very happy with my blade.

The M16 has a miniled, good speakers, keyboard and touchpad are superior to most others (besides Legion) and a lot cheaper than the Razers, which makes them worth it in my book.

I got the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 and I’m waiting for it to arrive. I’m scared lol. I’ve never had anything other than Apple before. I think you're being a little unfair to m16 comparing it to strix. They're for different types of people, and if you can't buy or just don't want 2 different laptops m16 is a good all-in-one option suitable for business and gaming while being portable.
Warning to anyone considering buying the Legion Slim 7 Gen 8 (AMD). I purchased this laptop directly from Lenovo and mine came faulty brand new out of the box. The entire left side of the screen has a ghostly afterimage (image persistence I believe) which makes the laptop an absolute pain to use. Lenovo customer service was not helpful in coming up with a resolution, so I'll be returning this laptop and buying a MacBook instead. Just wanted to share my experience with others.
I got an 7i with i9 and 4070, added another 16GB of RAM and 4TB SSD myself😊 The slim 7 series are the (newer generations of) Thinkpads of Gaming. If only I could get that with the 2023th Teal color, like my Yoga 7 it would be even more perfect 😁
@@amirabdram6412 Not really in my case I often play with closed display lid on my big Xiaomi curved monitor. The airflow in the back can get relatively hot. But the machine remains warm
One point from my side maybe. Fan volume for now hasnt really been an issue for me. I can play most games on my omen 16 with a rtx 4060 with the balanced mode and the fans make very little noise. The 40 series is already capped at lower wattage for the budget laptop gpus and has very good scaling when it comes to wattage reduction so that probably is the reason why the temps are pretty good while also delivering enough performance for most games I have played so far. Now the requirement might change in a couple years but I dont see myself particularly needing to switch to the perfromance mode while gaming for an year atleast. And anyways I always use headphones so even when I am alone noise is not an issue.
This is by far the best review for these laptops I've seen! Finally a review that recommends gaming laptops based on the user and not just a general audience.
still rocking my Tuf A15 from 2020 with a 4800H/rtx 2060 still an excellent computer may upgrade to a Tuf next year with a 5060 or something but this one is aging very well.
(for programmers) One aspect that I need to know about Legion Slim 7 - how good is Linux support? I've seen some people are having speaker issues in Linux on this model. Linux aspects to test: keyboard, touchpad, wifi & Bluetooth, speakers, camera, microphone, I/O ports, Fn keys?, brightness & other keys, RGB lighting, performance profiles, GPU Switching...
I believe the best all-around laptop this year is the Slim 7i. I recently purchased one with an i7-13700 processor and an RTX 4060 graphics card. Although I'm not a hardcore gamer, I do play games from time to time, and it performs exceptionally well. The combination of the i7-13700 and RTX 4060 provides a better battery life, although it's not perfect. With my configuration, I get around 3 to 4 hours of battery life unless I dim the screen significantly. The display is excellent; mine is the 240Hz variant, and it's incredibly bright and vibrant. the laptop does generate some heat, but its not warm to touch! . I assume it might run slightly warmer on the i7-13900 variant
Are there any known issues with the Asus Scar 18 other than its large size? And does it share all the features and specifications with the Asus Scar 16?
As a creator and gamer which one should i choose the dell g16 i9 version or asus rog stix g16? Which one have Display quality and overall build quality? Plz reply.
Hey Josh, thanks for the great review and detailed comaprison. How does the keyboard stack up between legion slim 7 and legion 5 14". I am really confused between the two. Also which would be your pick between the two?
Then I need to reprioritize my choices, being a programmer first, gamer second. The choice of keyboard becomes of paramount importance. That's why I value your content so much since you look at things from the same lens. Lenovo, if you are seeing this, consider making an 14 inch legion slim 7. It would so make our lives easier. :)
Hi Josh. Your complaints regarding the Blade 16 are really interesting,. Especially regarding Fan-Noise. I went through two Blade 16's from Bestbuy and both were the Mercury editions like yours. A lot of folks seem to be having display and performance issues with this variation of the laptop including myself. Most reviews I read were using the standard matte black version and it supposedly has a fantastic performance to fan noise ratio. Especially in balanced mode. Still a huge fan of the Alienware x16 though.
I get what your saying about the size being portable but the 18/17 inch are just better for gaming. The blade 18 literally shows higher fps in testing at the same resolution than the overheating blade 16. The asus scar 17 with the 7945hx 3D is literally the most powerful gaming laptop in testing. Even alienware says the m18 is more powerful than the x16 on the site.
2:40 LOL, no. I can't stand less than 4 hours of battery life on a laptop, especially ones that are otherwise quite good. My guess is the Intel HX CPU and Mini-LED screen are annihilating battery life. And BTW, I had this laptop and returned it because the speakers wouldn't work in Linux at the time no matter what I tried. The exact same thing happened with the Razer Blade 14 2023, which also was returned. I'm currently waiting on my Framework Laptop 16, of which I am in the first batch, and it will likely smoke the Asus ROG Strix Scar G16 in terms of battery life and the Framework Laptop can be even further upgraded compared to even the most "upgradeable" ROG laptop.
@molex2287 It was above average for gaming laptops, like around 5 - 6 hours of light use, granted with internet and the screen set to around 300 nits, not 200 or 250 nits like most reviews do (because of the lighting of my room) although the screen was set to go down to 60 hz on battery. RGB was also on, which can also hurt battery life. Most other gaming laptops, especially with Intel H or HX CPUs aren't very good in terms of battery life. I'd expect the Framework Laptop 16 to be at least 8 hours best case (screen set to 200 nits, 60 hz, with RGB keyboard / keyboard backlighting off, and without DisplayPort or HDMI expansion cards installed (as those seem to seem to use more battery power than USB-A or USB-C).
Hi Josh. What are your thoughts about "ASUS - Zenbook 14" 120Hz OLED Touch Laptop - EVO Intel 13 Gen Core i9 with 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForece RTX 3050 - 1TB"? Is it worth it?
How about someone who needs a gaming laptop, needs to record gaming while gaming, needs to use it for graphic design programmes and film editing (basically the whole adobe suite.) would you say the razor?
I was hoping that VR was added. I'm looking for something with a display port and HDMI. I want the one with the most ins and outs. I don't really care about weight and size so long as I can plug in my headset, art tablet, external drive and monitor.
It is strange that the slim 7 amd has no advanced optimus. I have the Ideapad 5 pro 16 with the same processor and a 4050 and it has advanced optimus. In my country it was significantly cheaper than the slim 5 with 4050 and way way cheaper than the 4060 model. Price and portability is important to someone who carries a laptop everyday.
Thanks for the comparisons Josh. I use my laptop for business travel so my priorities are thin and light, but it's nice to see what gaming laptops are out there.
This is exactly my use-case, as I have been debating between the Blade 16 (Mercury, with 4080), the Alienware X16, (4080 or 4090) and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7i (4070). My criteria were basically 1) that it was relatively slim and lightweight, 2) that it could handle the games that I play when travelling (CS2, Doom: Eternal, Rocket League, RTS games), and 3) that I could open it up in a boardroom / customer meeting and still have the machine look like a "normal" laptop. The Blade 16 met most of this criteria, BUT, I've had several Razer laptops in the past, and I'm always skeptical about their longevity. I've also heard some horror stories about the 16" dual-mode MiniLED display on the Blade 16. It was also an eye-watering $5200 CAD for the Blade 16 (Razer or Amazon.ca pricing). The Alienware X16 is a laptop I'm a big fan of, but for two points. 1) The "butt" on the X16 makes it hard to fit into any of my current laptop briefcases or backpacks, which means I'd need to buy a new one. Two, it's not the least bit subtle as a device to open up in a customer meeting. As much as I'm a big believer in the concept that the messaging / presentation should be the important factor, the reality is that the appearance of the messenger can be just as critical. And the Alienware kind of tarnishes the messaging somewhat. I LOVE the Alienware, and I could pick one up (refurb'd) from Best Buy in Canada for $2800 CAD, with the 4080. Good deal for the level of performance. In the end, after testing out a Lenovo Legion Slim 7i in several local Best Buy stores, I picked one of these up. Keyboard is great (on par with the non-mechanical Alienware keyboard), trackpad is better, display is brighter, and it's 1.5 lbs lighter. It also fits into my briefcase with no issues. Performance is pretty good overall; 200+ FPS in CS2, running everything on high, native 2560 x 1600, and that's with Optimus (not dGPU mode). Same with Doom: Eternal: 2560 x 1600, native, high (not Ultra), no DLSS, and 200+ FPS. I only picked it up last week, and I have until after Christmas to return (if desired), but I'm pretty happy with it. Everybody tells me that I should want a 4080 instead of 4070, but for my use-case, it's the difference between having a 350 HP car and a 500 HP car. If the speed limit is 130 km/h, what difference does the extra 150 HP made?
@PatrickButhmann difference in HP means you are more dynamic in short race, that's the point. Also old fiat can drive 130 km/h and so does tesla but lol, 😂 doesn't it funny?
In my country, the HP OMEN r7 + 4070 with a 2k screen costs almost $400 cheaper than the legion slim 7. The price is similar to the legion 5 pro on the r7 7745HX+ 4060, which, judging by the reviews, heats up more than the r7 7840hs. In such a situation, wouldn't Omen on 4070 be a better choice? The white omen transcend 4060 costs $200 more than the regular omen.
As an owner of ROG flow x13 I can't justify stylus for writing on a machine this big and bulk. And hold it with the keyboard at the back not so comfortable.
i recently got a LOQ for almost 1070 dollars with a 4060 ryzen 7840hs 100percent srgb i think its a great value buy. The performance FROM the benchmark scores you provided is almost same as THAT of the legion slim 7i laptop with ryzen

I'm thinking about buying one would you recommend it?
What do you think of the 4090 model? Do you think its worth it? How much difference is there between 4080 and 4090 model?
You will regret once charging port becomes loose.

@@TheComando156cooling would be terrible
@@DocHudson420 Maybe not actually.
I own an Acer Predator Helios 16 (not Neo) with an RTX 4080 and the GPU runs cool even on higher workloads.
@@henrikg1388where did u buy it from
Shouldn’t be here because I just got my (awesome) Legion Slim 7 AMD a few weeks ago but I was curious to see how it sized up against the competition. I’m glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves. One thing that usually never gets mentioned is gaming in quiet mode. It’s really solid performance with barely audible noise! I personally feel good fps with a nearly silent laptop is more impressive than high fps from a loud laptop.
And how is the battery life? Is it any good?
@@vladsynytsyn3074 Haven’t done a full test but I don’t carry my charger anymore when I leave the house unless I know I’m going to game.
All of Josh's complaints about cooling and design issues are valid, but they'll never be solved because the people who make the decisions about how these laptops will be built and arranged don't speak anything but Chinese. They'll never, ever, EVER see this video or any video like it. Upvote this so Josh and team see it.

This video helped me so much. Still torn between X16, Slim 7, and Scar though.
Thank you for the lovely comment!

I wish I understood any of this

I'm not in the market for a gaming laptop, but I still appreciate your hard work. Good job guys!

G14(2023) and Legion slim has been have been heavy on my radar. I just don't know yet
Diamond IV?! Playing only SINGED!? Your a mad lad. Subscribed.
Will definitely settle on an Asus TUF Gaming F15 since I'm only a highschool student and my budget is below 1200$
what is a good laptop case for the Lenovo legion slim 7? I’m a college student and commute everyday
That may be true but there are very few life situations where a 17-18” laptop is worth it over a desktop.
Do you remember how was the battery life with the blade 14?
@molex2287 It was above average for gaming laptops, like around 5 - 6 hours of light use, granted with internet and the screen set to around 300 nits, not 200 or 250 nits like most reviews do (because of the lighting of my room) although the screen was set to go down to 60 hz on battery. RGB was also on, which can also hurt battery life.
Most other gaming laptops, especially with Intel H or HX CPUs aren't very good in terms of battery life. I'd expect the Framework Laptop 16 to be at least 8 hours best case (screen set to 200 nits, 60 hz, with RGB keyboard / keyboard backlighting off, and without DisplayPort or HDMI expansion cards installed (as those seem to seem to use more battery power than USB-A or USB-C).
from these videos, you are the best laptop reviewer by FAR!!!! and been a gaming laptop fan for a long time
Hi Josh. What are your thoughts about "ASUS - Zenbook 14" 120Hz OLED Touch Laptop - EVO Intel 13 Gen Core i9 with 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForece RTX 3050 - 1TB"? Is it worth it?
Great video! 🎉
Great video, thank you.
This guy never speaks a word more than the amount exactly required. Even if this guy makes an hour long video, you know its well written.
How about someone who needs a gaming laptop, needs to record gaming while gaming, needs to use it for graphic design programmes and film editing (basically the whole adobe suite.) would you say the razor?
The problem with Lenovo is that I just can't go back to IPS. Razer Blade 16 has that mini LED panel.
I love your videos. Thank you for going so in depth
I clicked your video for a review. Not a fifteen minute ad.
Price and portability is important to someone who carries a laptop everyday.
the 2.5k screen doesn't get advanced optimus but the 3.2k one does for some reason, i know because i have it
Thanks for the comparisons Josh.
Incredible review, thank you
Rog flow x13 might be perfect for students considering the size, weight, battery life and tablet functionality with stylus input.
My slim cost me 1250 with coupons, for less than 200$ you get bigger battery, best quality construction, and better display. No brainer if you ask me
ya for some its the best fit but for some who just care about the performance and is on a tight budget im saying they can save this 200 dollars @@cesarcolmenares523
Which coupons and where?
EXCELLENT SUMMARY!!
