I went in for my yearly physical & found out I was in stage 3 kidney failure & that I have about 15 years left. I had NO IDEA!!! They retested me after a month of drinking lots of water and no longer taking Excedrin Migraine. My numbers went down and I was out of kidney failure by one point. It's been another year and I'm about to get them tested again. Wish me luck! 🍀
Good luck. God bless!
Sheila McMurray Please do a follow-up post after being re-tested. I would love to hear your results.
AMEN AMEN AMEN prayers up for you 🙏

I started getting the symptoms you describe years ago. I TOLD my doctor about them and he blew it off. I gained a lot of weight, then lost 60 pounds in a month without trying. The doctor said “tell me how you did this. I need to lose weight, too!”. While he was on vacation, his replacement told me I had diabetes. The regular doctor NEVER tested my blood sugar! I’m stage 3 CKD now. The “old” doctor retired before I found out. I C went to a nephrologist and now HE is blowing it off like I have nothing to worry about. They all failed me. Even if someone listens now and tells me what I need to do to live a few years longer, it’s too late. Start keeping an eye on yourself young, don’t think doctors know what they’re doing for you, they don’t. Lay off salt and processed foods. Watch TH-cam. You’ll get better information.
It is not too late. Do your research and study the foods that can help you with your kidneys. Also, we only need one kidney to survive so if you do your research you can find the countries where you can get a kidney transplant ( might be expensive but this is a major life saver) good luck and may God bless you!
Im sorry this happened to you but this is dangerous and terrible advice. If anyone feels like their doctor is irresponsible they should get a new primary care provider and also seek second or third or fourth opinions. I do my own research and if my doctor doesn’t acknowledge it then I know they don’t do their job bc patient education is something a good medical student learns next to good bedside manners.
@@Socialling I barely was able to find the GP I did. You don’t get a second opinion here in Canada unless you’re up for a 15 hour wait in an emergency room
Doctors really don't care. That is my experience. They are lazy.
@@aarbar6615 that’s terrible, I’m sorry you experienced that. Every one should have decent healthcare wherever they are. That said, I’d take a 15 hour wait if it gave me what I needed for peace of mind about my body/health. But I’m also a black woman who has to navigate healthcare knowing no one will advocate for me as much I will and that there are enough systemic biases that are finally being addressed in medical schools about the inequitable care given to certain groups. Best of luck to you in your journey.
1. Change in urination
2. Fatigue
3. Edema (swelling/water retention)
4. Change in skin. Dryness, yellow color, gray color, itching.
5. Metallic taste in mouth, bad breath.
6. Weight loss. Food unappealing.
Thank you for summarising
I have all of these symptoms
I recently noticed when I am standing for long periods that my feet and ankle would swell. My eyes also felt weird. I went to the doctor and he said my blood pressure was a bit elevated. I went to see the eye doctor and she said, my blood pressure was affecting my eyes as well. So, I was put on lisinopril. I put on about 40 lbs in the last three years. So now I have to lose that weight. We have always watch our salt intake. Weight gain changes everything as you age.
Thank you so much!
Thanks☺️
I have been going to the doctor with a pain in my right side for over 2 years I explained to her that my skin and scalp was itching, my urinating was frequent at time and no do frequency at others, my blood pressure was always slightly elevated, I’m borderline diabetic, I have severe fluid build up in my legs every day, I have little to no energy and I’m severely anemic I asked to have my kidneys checked but she wouldn’t listen kept asking me about my reproductive organs, having children, heavy periods and then offered me a hysterectomy I was finally put on a low dose blood pressure mediation a few months ago and last week my bp was still elevated and I was having chest pain now they are talking about getting my kidneys checked when I asked over 2 years ago I’m 43 years old and I’m afraid my kidneys may be failing 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾this video was more helpful to me than all the time, money and energy it took going back and forth to the doctor
Please consider suing her otherwise she will continue to kill patients through will full neglect.
@@1dayfree Yes. It IS absolutely wilful neglect. It's strategic to increase their profit. They are taught to delay testing, diagnosis and treatment which allows the condition to advance and leads to higher healthcare cost for the patient which secures the doctors lifestyle of luxury
MDs and NPs are worthless
That's negligence though...pathetic . SMH
Hi,
I don't know you, but would you please ask your Doctors to order Liver Function tests to see if your liver enzymes are raised.
You complain of itchy skin, borderline diabetes and right sided pain?
Right quadrant pain along with those other symptoms may indicate a liver issue.
I am NOT a medical professional but had all of your symptoms and was subsequently diagnosed with deranged liver enzymes.
There is also a link between liver disease and high blood sugar.
The liver is highly resilient to repeated insult- up to a point. So again please go and get that tested along with your kidney function to at least rule it out.
Blessings

I found this video gave me more precious information than my doctor gives. In less time too. Thank God for this woman.
I had a liver transplant, 10 hr. Surgery causing injuries to my kidneys. I was stage 3, but the last 3 months fallen to stage 4. I pray it gets better. I'm so tired. When I walk I fell like I've run 10 miles, very shaky, and weak. I was a miracle as I died during my surgery, then coma a month, but overcame all. I learn to walk, swallow, write my name, all but stepping up stairs. Still a challenge. But my kidneys are my problem now. I traded 1 thing for anouther. High BP, high pittassium, many drugs, side effects. So life is a journey, enjoy each day your given.
I’m sorry that you are fighting through this..I wish you continued healing, strength and healthier days (months and years). Sending good vibrations your way!!!!
So sorry- sad. How old are you and were you a drinker or obese?
Thank you so much! I was told I had stage 3 kidney disease 3 years ago. I was never told about stage 1 or 2, so I was caught by surprise.
I was also diagnosed with diabetes the check up before this and I cried! I took metformin but after a year on it, was able to maintain healthy glucose levels with healthy eating. My last test that checked my kidneys, showed normal numbers! Thanks be to God.

I strongly agree with Joanna! This was a thorough yet simple & detailed explanation of kidney disease! For me, it was presented in language that I could understand. My doctors attribute my case to the contrast used during diagnostic imaging for a colon cancer diagnosis 5 years ago. That contrast is quite toxic to the kidneys. My lab work has revealed a stage of kidney disease between 3 & 4. So now I’m on a strict, ‘No Sugar Added’ diet in the hopes of stopping it in its tracks. I’ve heard that Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) can’t be improved or cured but it can be stopped from progressing. Thank you for your informative video.
Sending Love ❤️...Joanna...Are you single? ❤️😊
Thank you. This is so generous, thoughtful and kind! You deserve a medal!
So clear and simple.
I hope your health improves. And good health to all!
I have been in Stage 3 Kidney Disease for many years. Renal failure runs in my Dad's side of the family. The first of this year my legs and ankles swelled so bad the fluid leaked thru 4 pair of socks a day. The diligence of my docs PA helped bring it down, but my blood pressure also almost bottomed out. Quest is the Lab at my Kidney docs office. Everything she has said here is true and very helpful. I don't want to go on Dialysis!!! A friend of mine told me yesterday, after many years on Dialysis she is now on the Kidney Transplant List. My Prayers for her❤️🙏🏼 God be with all of us suffering ❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸
How many years r u in stage 3 pls reply
Your legs and feet were swollen and the fluid was soaking through four pairs of socks… how does that work?
I am a patient with renal failure and my condition is developing rapidly. The local hospital suggests dialysis. A friend of mine in China introduced traditional Chinese medicine treatment and the results are now quite good.
Thank you, finally someone who isn't wanting to make a profit off people's health . You are a Saint and a genuine human being who is here only to help others. Thank you for being you !I really can't put into words just how wonderful you really are...
This has been so informative. It’s very sad that I’m just seeing it. I have stage 3B chronic kidney disease no one could figure out why I was losing weight 65 pounds down now blood pressure still up. I’ve changed my diet I exercise and yet I still have CKD. The lowest my GFR has been is 33 it fluctuates, but never takes me out of stage three yall be careful listen to your body everything she said was happening to me and I’m a nurse and didn’t pick it up. Just thought I was tired, getting older, and really not paying attention to my own body, God bless you
Back in the mid 90’s I had a sports doctor that had prescribed me Naxin Naproxen 500mg's for 1.5 years for my carpal tunnel syndrome which had caused 50% of my kidneys to malfunction. Just this year after doing much research, I started taking Pure Premium kidney repair pills 500mg, vitamin K2 MK-7 500mg & vitamin D3 1000IU, 200mg Co Q-10 and 100mcg Selenium or you can eat 3 Brazilian nuts for Selenium. If you incorporate this with eating low sodium and low sugar foods with fish and white meat I ended up bringing up my EGFR from 51 to 62 in just 3 months! I even included a cheat meal once a week having a red meat meal and my EGFR still went up 11 points in just 3 months! I hope this will help you and others trying to bring up their EGFR! What I had found really good is I always had a fruit smoothie first thing in the morning "strawberries, pineapple, 1 scoop of Subi Greens or Red Beet powder mix" and my first meal was always one whole egg, ¼ portion/mini carton of egg whites from Costco, green onions and 2-3 slices of low sodium turkey cut up in a scrambled egg with a handful of Jasmin rice which is light and easy on the kidneys. My other 2 meals will always consist of a handful of carbs/protein and lots of steamed vegetables in the last 2 meals and I know that had also contributed to bringing up my EGFR.
Please look up Dr Eric Berg. His advice Is priceless. God bless
The end of your comment is how I have felt. Thank you for your informative post!!!
Still have blood in the urine. Feel so tired constantly. Extreme back pain Just had a test up the urethra.

No cancer. Sorry for the bother! Just confused and don't know how to navigate this. Thanks for reading this to the end!!!!!!❤
chronic lifestyle.. unfortunately. the medical society does not address the cause, only the symptoms and medical intervention. Good luck!!

I suffer from Hypertension and was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease. After changing my diet and exercising more I’m now a stage 3. I have my blood checked every 6 months. Great video.
Top effort
What the name of the test?
I went from checking blood every month to checking a couple times a month. That may sound like a good thing but I developed healthy anxiety from that. I think 6 months is good for checking. I’m trying to reduce the number of my checking now as it increases my anxiety.
God Bless you for taking the time to make this video. For being strong enough to go through your own ordeal. While having enough care in your heart to help others by providing this information.
Thanks for this very detailed and helpful information. We casually overlook subtle changes in our health because it can mimic something so simple like an inch, when in essence it is really something bigger. It is better to be proactive and observant of our body changes and act. Thank you!
I appreciate and thank you for taking the effort to make this video. I have lupus nefritis stage 4 and it all started with the same symptoms. Thank God I’m stable, but it’s been a long journey for me. You can be in terrible situation regarding your health without being aware of it. Pay attention to your body.

Sincere thank you, for this video, I will definitely follow your recommendations. I have been a little negligent in looking after my health, especially regarding blood pressure and sugar levels, and am a bit worried about some kidney pain. Much love and respect from a Muslim in Cape Town, South Africa. Praying for your health also ❤
I’ve watched a lot videos on this topic, and yours has been the most helpful, because of your personal experience and understanding.
Just wanted to say, "Thanks for this video." One of my closest friends just got told that she would be on dialysis if her numbers don't change and that scared me. Your video is just what I needed to see. I will have my tests done soon. Thanks so much! Very informative! 😇❤😇
Great advice. Many years ago I used to sit with a friend of mine who had kidney failure during the long afternoons of her dialysis. She was fortunate to have the dialysis equipment at home and a network of friends who supported her needs.
Oh thank you for making this video. My doctor checks my kidney function every 6 months i think it is. I'm overweight, type2 diabetic with high blood pressure. I am much clearer after watching this video of both the risks and the things to be on the lookout for. Do fact, my kidneys are ok. But I want to be sure they stay that way. Thank you!!
Great job explaining it. I have some of the symptoms and have been concerned with this for a while. Ty again
This is definitely one of the very best medical warning information! There histrionic scare tactics, no charts to distract your attention…just plain words in a modulated voice, and the definite feeling that ‘she knows what she’s talking about’! Thanks for bringing a straight-forward message!
So sorry for what you are going through. So much gratitude that you are trying to educate & help others.
Great presentation; succinct with excellent information. I have CKD 3 and have been remiss in taking better care of myself. Thank you for a wonderful heads-up reminder!

Wow, I felt as though you were speaking directly to me! Now some of the symptoms, I haven't seen in myself, but many I do. I will be more proactive. I'm glad that you did this, it will help others, as it helped me, and I pray you are getting better and your dialysis goes well.
Thank you! Very helpful! Very concise with the needed info to get to the basic problem. I had mild changes starting years back. No one told me that I had CKD. They never did anything about it ! I was never aware of the signs that are so obviously there!! Now, I am in the moderate range. Thanks, again! Very important information.

How are you?
Not just old people. Also not just diabetes. I don't know how it happened but it scares me going stage 4 to 3 then back again. I don't want to be on dialysis!😢
Very interesting video. I also have CKF and experienced some of those symptoms and had no idea my kidneys were failing. Probably was failed at the point of symptoms anyway as Dr. Omole explained. Mines came at the age of 32 from complications at child birth from my youngest child. I went into Pre eclampsia. Blood pressure elevated while in labor. I am now on dialysis for35 years now. I read in a comment the doctor told him he had 15 years left. Doctors can not predict that. It is not a death sentence. Yet it hasn’t been easy. Also changed my life completely. My doctor overlooked everything which could have possibly avoided kidney failure. Therefore the doctors advice in this video is excellent When your body is telling something, listen. Request these test she recommends Stay aware and be proactive. Don’t wait till it’s too late. Thank you for this video which is so on point
Excellent video, now I realized my mom had all those symptoms. You are so right about we are the advocates of our health!
Thank you so much. Your video is very informative and a good warning to pay attention. I've had kidney stones, and my blood pressure is elevated. Actually, no! Regardless of age you can absolutely improve this; do what you can by taking supplements (b1 thiamine, magnesium citrate, d3 k2(mk7) and research others, cutting out all carbs, sugar, potatoes bananas, initially then later allow 2 slices white bread or Ioz white boiled rice daily, drink water and green tea/lemon, Get regular blood tests 6weekly, to monitor your progress. You can turn this about by utilising that military discipline. Go for it.

Warrning!! First make sure you’re not badly dehydrated. Happened to me. Your renal panel tanks due to not enough hydration. 12 hours on a saline drip fixed me right up, and brought my renal panel completely back to normal. Six months later I’m still feeling great. Drink about 2.5 to 3.0 liters of water every day. The docs were baffled, including the nephrologist.
such a great tip, this especially happens to me in Winter when I forget to drink water. I also get fatigued as a result.
That's on point

This was awesome. Just flawlessly executed and highly educational. I am sharing with everyone I know. I am so sorry about what you've been through. Thank you for teaching and sharing with us. I know ppl who one day were "fine" and next day diagnosed with kidney disease/failure. Liked and subscribed. Take good care.

Thank you for doing this video. I was diagnosed with kidney disease about a year and a half ago. My major problem is not drinking lots of water - 8 cups of water isn't enough. I try for 3 to 4 quarts (liters) per day - not easy for me, but my kidneys respond to the water, and my blood and urine tests are almost all in normal range now.
Howucj water to drink
What are the tests for kidney disease?

hi i stumbled upon your video and the things you talked about and said to look out for really came across as sincere and truly concerning for your listeners , including me, i have had a few issues recently and at one point the blood and urine test came back as bad fr every level, im f50 workout 4 to 5 times a week thinking that stuff can never happen to me, well yes it can and thanks to you i will push the doctor more to look into my issues
Very educational and timely encouragement. Thanks ❤
I agree with Joanna Davis, the best presentation of issues regarding kidneys. I have most of these signs and do regular blood check. Fortunately everything is just starting now, but it is right what you say, all the pain you are suffering is whort, because you do a fantastic job, explaining what brought you to dialysis. I have a couple of friends in dialysis, same age of me (60) and I know how change life. Unfortunately we do not put that much attention in early signs and the damages are getting more every year. This video should be used in schools, teaching to youngsters to take care of themselves. Health is the primary value we have and goes together with time. All the rest is not so fundamental. One healty person can do anything… all my best to you.
And thanks, really thanks.
Ôi mê ly! 🤩💯
Wow, she just nailed it. Exactly the information I needed. Ty😊
Your video was very helpful. I have all the symptoms except for one. Thank you so much. YOU, should have been a doctor. Thank you again for caring about others.
Thank you for the education. This is so important. ❤
Thank you for making a video about this; reading through medical websites about the subject is overwhelming. My dad has been in the hospital for a month with congestive kidney failure. He had all the risk factors and displayed all the symptoms but chose to ignore it for years. Based on the descriptions you gave, I don’t know how he dealt with all of that for so long.
Thank you sister for the information on the sign of a damaged kidney and the test thereof.
Thank you for this, I'm glad you shared your hard earned experience
😁
