Use a oil clamp that’s what I did. I went to the parts store and bought a oil remover clamp or whatever it’s called the one with the chain I bought them just that one didn’t work and you wrap it around the teeth that’s on that thing with the on it hold it tight use the impact on, no problem
U should always use locktite on the bolts or nut,s.Why replace with the same shit does not make those better. They eat belts.Need a clutch assembly with harder torque /compression spring to get a tighter grip on the belt sides,if done the compression spring you change to can be a inch,is longer and max 5 turns with ends included.Roller,s that weigh more is needed to balance up for the harder spring at the back if you want the same.ish rpm up before the clutch engages. The standard carburetter on those come with no acceleration pump on them witch make them slow from start and can easy get the problem with engine bog down when throttle is moved fast up. They also eat belt do to the small diameter on front and back pulley to.Something to look out for when buying a scooter with CVT type gear
Put one of the cover bolts back and use a screwdriver to place in the sprocket to keep it from spinning

I use the rubber handle on my pliers. Just wedge it between the housing and teeth. Works great to hold variator!!
Good to know thanks
Do you have to put on a new gasket for the cover when putting it back together
what bits did you get?
I've used a piece of 2x4 works well and doesn't harm teeth
Great thanks
