  • A little discussed issue for those of us with Parkinson’s is the degradation of our hearing. Often we experience tinnitus. Here’s some thoughts. #parkinsons #dopamine #parkinsonsdisease #youngonsetparkinsons #symptoms #neurology

I had no idea that there was any link between hearing loss and PD😮

I've had tinnitus for over a decade and often wondered if this was a precursor to my Parkinson's. Tinnitus never lets up, its 24/7, it just varies on how loud it is. I started with tremors about 2 yrs ago and now it's accompanied with constipation, sleep disorders and now newly developed balance issues. The progression is very unsettling.

My tinnitus is the same and it has for slightly worse. I too had it years before dx. The balance issues sound tough to deal with. I have the constipation and sleep issues but so far balance is mostly ok. Sorry mate - this disease does suck for sure

I lost the hearing in my right ear and I lost my sense of smell, it is very hard.

My hearing is steadily getting worse. My sense of smell is degraded rather than lost. It’s an interesting one. I’m not tremor dominant and we seem to suffer less acute loss of smell.
