Setting the Land Speed Record in Poly Bridge 3

- How did I get the speed on the thumbnail? Well it appears RCE's car traveled 250 meters in ~24.25 seconds, which is about 23.06 mph. He claimed 50000 mph, so after getting a proportionality constant of 2168.14, I can find my speed was 250m/1.6 s * 2168.14 = 684536 mph

Well, that was an unexpected glitch discovery. Should I make a boat or a plane with it?
Plane
ekranoplane
Heck yeah
Make something between
RC drone. If you don't do that I will just assume your to scared of my challenge.
Unfortunately Reid, i have had an independent adjudicator look at this and they have confirmed that because you went right to left, your speed was actually negative. The land speed commitee rules clearly state all legitimate speed tests should be completed left to right, so unfortunately you built the slowest vehicle ever made (which technically still makes you a record holder) 😊
real youtuber and no replies let me fix that.
You're not wrong... but you're not right either
I think he wins for most strongly shaped vehicle though.
Fr, rce ontop
if you drive backwards at the speed of light, you're still the fastest and not slowest
somehow the devs managed to make the physics system from pb2 even more broken 💀
They kinda sorta did actually lol
how did you comment 23 hours ago???????
wait yea how did you comment 23 hours ago (when i commented this the video was released 15 minutes ago)
Uhh TH-cam glitch or clever name langth
@@crankit633 neither 😉
Imagine you are just thinking about making a car but the game is like "No! Here is a magical flying machine instead!"
Reid will just show you a complete spiderwebesque tangled mess of steel and say, "Yes, this here is a rotation reverser"
I cant believe you said "this isnt stong enough" and moved the front wheel way out. Literally made the strongest shape. RCE would never be more proud
15:46 very strong shape there
yes, yes, a fine gentlemanly shape indeed
I loved the more in depth explanation of the rotation reverser and multiplier, it really made it so I could understand your design through the whole video
Thanks, I was happy with how that segment turned out!
16:01 looks more like something RCE would make
Its strong shape
can't agree more
6:03 too
HAHAHAHH the strongest shape
I was worried everyone was just going to play off the fact that the strongest shape was used to set the land speed record. Reid Captain totally plays it off 😂
15:45 RCE would say this is a VERY STRONG car
lol
It is objectively the strongest car.
I love how they just randomly anialate and casually lift off the ground for mo reason.
Annihilate
💀
@@haassteambraker9959 Thanks, I thought he was using some fancy engineer word I haven't heard before, but it was just annihilate
@@MegidolErinis that sarcasm or real thanks I can't tell there's no clues
@@networkofneurons No I legit thought it was some special engineer word, and not just a butchering of the word annihilate
That's a strong shape right there
you can use ''track the veichle'' camera so whole screen would smoothly follow the veichle which looks nice and is more comfortable to watch
Rollercoaster simulator
*vehicle
@@hithere2741 no it's veichle, stupid
15:39 Now that's a strong vehicle if I've ever seen one.
Who let nile red into poly bridge 💀
15:43 Thats one efficient looking land speed vehicle.
Lol I love that even Reid Captain stretches the springs the wrong way at first, just like me. "I'll compress these springs so they... wait, I'll STRETCH these springs..."
The way it started flying 14:48
*insert deepfried harry potter theme*
15:42
RCE would be proud 🗿
Hahahah I was just about to write that 😂
I know you're Nile red
Reid is just genius and the sheer determination this guy has to make all this stuff is very impressive
15:39 someone needs to show RCE the true power of the "strong shape"
15:43 RCE would be proud of that strong shape!
15:39 I don’t know what your talking about? This is a very strong shape.
There are s few issues with the bottom, though
I made this exact comment XD IT REALLY DOES THO.😂
Since the steel isn't rigid enough, you could build the body of your vehicle out of custom shapes. Another idea is to place four cars in a pinwheel shape, and create a wheel out of that.
The glitch seems to be like with the custom shapes, but the car physics seem to interact weirdly. Since hydraulics seem to be able to sustain the forces of the engine, you could also build the vehicle out of hydraulics.
1:14 “I wonder why the tractor glitches through the wheel🤔“
The 250 Pg:😏
I love how the design idea went from make a better engine to essentially, strap a rocket to it.
alternate title reality: Poly Bridge 3 is a Perfectly Balanced Game w/ No Exploits!
Ah the spiffing brit
You explained how you got your 684536 mph. But the real mystery is how RCE got his 50000 mph.
Yes, I know the 50000 mph was a joke. Not throwing shade, I love both RC and RCE.
i love that you properly accounted for the clickbait multiplication in the final thumbnail number here in the same manner that RCE did originally lmfao
The final design looks very efficient to an engineer.
The engine slowly floating up into the sky and the the other end of the map was so fucking funny
RCEs been real quiet since this dropped…
He’s in full blown panic. He knows he can’t defeat the strongest shape.
Wait, question, am I missing something? How is this engine any different than the one in the beginning? Is it the monster truck specifically that's causing the glitch?
It's something about it getting crushed by the hydraulic that makes it fly, it's more of a combination of the first two engines
@@ReidCaptain Ohhhh, thank you!
@@ReidCaptain the problem is sequencing. the game is for some reason skipping recalculating geometric transformations when the hydraulics are operating, and so you have created an Unbalanced Hoop problem where the hoop wants to orbit its center of mass which is out of line with its center of volume, but where the unbalancing mass is capable of teleporting forward each physics tick in order to maintain the position of the imbalance.
That’s a RCE approved built shape loved how it flopped thru the air made me chuckle
In true RCE fashion you ended up with the Strongest Shape somehow LMAO. I cant be the only one that sees it
well, I did
15:46 very efficient shape
I like how casually you are speaking while your vehicle slips through the floor or flings itself into the stratosphere.
I love you PB content!!! Every try making a mini game in PB?
Imagine that he becomes an engineer IRL, finds out several glitches in the physics system, and makes ground vehicles faster than light using these IRL glitches.
I hope videos like this inspire the devs of polybridge to make a game where you build vehicles
Westpoint bridge designer sure has come a long way.
11:26 bro that trippy as hell. I wonder if there is a real world example of that happening.
Seeing the vehicle crazily bounce around and fly gave me so much joy
this is the only person to discover a flying glitch while trying to beat the landspeed world record. great work
From what I gathered from this video, it appears the way this momentum glitch works is that the wheels are not rotating relative to the chassis due to the immense pressure on the suspension thus creating two forces on the vehicle a linear force on the contact between the road and the wheels and a linear force on the chassis. The road in contact with the wheels needs to be free turning relative to the chassis for this to work properly. (But that's just a guess)
Maybe it could be cool if you somehow made a guided missile in besiege that will fly on its own to a up front selected location! I think it could be possible but itll be very hard! Love the content haha! :)
I've tried making guided missiles in games before and half the battle is not having much information on how to build one online lol. I haven't played besiege but I bet it's near impossible to build a properly functioning missile without any shortcuts.
15:43,
The strongest shape emerges!
Assuming that the physics engine works the way one would expect, it appears that putting pressure on the vehicle freaks out the engine's calculation of the normal force, leading to the pressure of the hydraulics being converted to a continuous forward force, launching you.
TLDR: Car pressed on the road, and the road forgot to press back to equalize the force.
Edit: I'm guessing that clipping the car through the road might actually be causing it to add its force to the normal force, which is parallel to it, but normally in the opposite direction, and by clipping into the road in this manner, they end up pointing the same direction instead, which either doubles the force once, or causes a feedback loop wherein it is recursively adding the normal force to the value that the normal force is pressing against.
15:42 - certified RCE moment
You seen it here fellas
The first ever FDIK engine
Flying d* engine xD this is great dude
Now that's what I call a phallic shape
That was very cool!
336 mph aint too bad in all reality, its similar to a top fuel dragster. (Distance 250 meters, 1.66 seconds to cover it.)
oh my god you're ACTUALLY gonna make a supercomputer in this game aren't you
i came from your spring video. i play league of legends and your videos are def very ???. i love them.
15:44 bro knew what he wanted it to look like 💀
Real civil engineer watching this: bruh💀
I love your description of the video
Is it even a bridge anymore?
Uhhhh yeah I think
then drive cars on it
I noticed the strongest shape there, nice
how do you tell what metal pieces are attached to what? It just looks like a mess lol
What if you tried a mousetrap car design?
Instructions unclear, made a flying machine instead
Why didn't you make the part below ground a wheel again ?
So... you made working chains (tracks). We all know what you need to do next.
Make a working tank please!
yes!!!!!!!!!!
How did you resist putting "RCE Was Here" or something on the part at 15:42 ish?
Inventing flight before the wheel eh?
15:44 the strongest shape XD
bro really said let it rip
I dont play this game nor do I understand but uhhh couldnt you like do what you did with the wheels where you had a small one in the middle and a bigger outside and just keep multiplying your speed?
my man really just professionally video'd his way around drawing male organ in a bridge building game.
6:49 thats the most sattisfying thing i have ever seen
Wouldn’t more pressure on the car in the engine have more force on the car wheels, turning them slower? Making the whole thing slowerb
Wait 11:12. I’ve seen this before Can you test the mould effect in poly bridge 3?
Bro utilized an entire 4 credit mechanical design course
Next you should try to break the water speed record!
air speed record next
Structural Engineer: I built a most efficient bridge in Poly Bridge!!
Mechanical Engineer: I made the fastest car in Poly Bridge!!
This is what happens when a enormous electromagnet spontaneously meets a giant hunk of steel
Man gonna Break the space time continium with this glitch💀
at one point he just went, "i give up, i'm making a trebuchet"
I like how Reid took a civil engineering game and turns it into a mechanical engineering game
7:58 Biblically accurate chassis
Reid: alr im gonna go old fashioned and just force the trucks to make contact with the wheel
Game: You meant to make a flying machine, right?
For those who want to know it is going 250 meters in 1.68 seconds which gives 148.8 meters per second or 333 miles per hour
Your so insane at this game lmao
i'm not sure that of how possible it could be to make astable flying thing with that glitch, i mean you can make someting that flies, but you cna't make it go in one direction.
How is the LAND speed record any different from a general speed record? Just the condition that the vehicle must stay below certain altitude?
This would be way more interesting if your mode of propulsion stayed true to LAND and was a wheel or some sort of mechanism to push you forward benefiting from fiction with ground
> tries for land speed record
> accidentally discovers the first powered flight
true inventor fashion
Hey reid, I've got a KSP 1 challenge for you:
Build a rocket to orbit, capture an asteroid, and take that asteroid with you to mine as your fuel source to a destination of your choosing. I've never seen anyone do it yet, I think it will be tricky.
You’re like the Nile red of poly bridge. (That is a compliment)
15:42 the penistron 5000 fucking flies away because it engine is just that damn powerful
Only a real engineer would see that strong shape
exactly at 15:46 is the strongest shape known to mankind, the triangle. with 3 vertices.
Bro talks like Hikaru Nakamura 💀💀💀
man i didnt even notice pb3 was out
Idk what you're talking about, but it is fun to watch
bro tried to get the land speed record and ended up inventing flight
15:52 a knob, RCE would be proud
