Yes your wheels are going through the ground

Yes it effects your speed
It doesnt really matter if he hit the max speed though
@@Blaketarded He didn't hit the max speed overal. He just hit the max speed for his current vehicle.

@@Petq011 is there even a max speed in the game?
@@Egerit100 I think ScrapMan covered that in one of his videos a while back, but from my experience, there is no hard-coded/set max speed in the game. It is just how much a creation can reach with its trust counteracting its weight. if anything, it would likely be 9999... but I think ScrapMan broke even that in his test video. I don't really remember as it was a while, and I didn't really try to break any records myself. :D

Your dog is so beautiful, maybe you should make a video on how you built it
The more wheels, the faster it is (as long as your engines aren't thrusters). That's why it was better with the wheels in the middle.
Incorrect the more wheels the more the power you need the engines have a limited amount of power so the power has to be shared between each wheel so I don't how you think that
@@itsawyvernnotadragon8386 more traction maybe.
@@itsawyvernnotadragon8386 Trailmakers doesn't follow the laws of physics, that's irrelevant
@@serbianspaceforce6873 true
@@itsawyvernnotadragon8386 i wonder if too much torque is an issue here. More wheels to distribute the power world result in greater performance, but i don't know how the games physics work.
There is a continuous burnout trail - that's either an effect, or the wheels are receiving too much torque and are spinning too much.
That and it seems he needs more to support the weight
5:17 I see your are following in the footsteps of letsgameitout marvelous indeed
Some points of interest: (maybe directed at the developer)
- The mach-1+ condensation "halo" or cloud does not go away until the speed goes below mach-1. It actually only forms if the dew point (humidity) of the air is pretty high.
- A sonic boom is not produced only once as a vehicle accelerates beyond the speed of sound or Mach-1. "Breaking the sound barrier" does not produce a boom that emanates out from the point that the speed "barrier" was broken.
- *The pilot does not hear a sonic "boom".* Instead the pilot hears only sounds that are transmitted through the body of the vehicle. Any external sound produced by the engines or wind noise are left behind (traveling slower than the vehicle producing them) and the pilot can't hear them.
- *A sonic boom is only experienced by an observer.* moving less than mach-1. Like the wave produced by a speed boat - the wave never goes away and is experienced by an observer as a pile up of water. In the case of sound, like the boat wake, the observer experiences a sudden pile up of sound (mostly engine sounds) as the shock wave passes by, producing a momentary "boom". The shock wave remains trailing behind the vehicle, but it only passes an observer once.
the sonic boom is more of and indicator of how fast you are going, it’s not necessarily supposed to be scientifically accurate. however i do think it would be cool if it was.
@8:06 - I see that Roland set behind you. I have an Alesis setup myself. What is it with geeks and e-drums. What I do not see is a 3D printer in the frame. That's the geek trifecta.

I've been trying to make the fastest vehicle possible, and I've done no wheels, but lots of dragon jet engines, but the thing is though that even though it can top 1000 km/h (im going to add more engines so it goes faster) I don't get a sonic boom because there's no wheels 🙁
the thumbnail looked like scrapmans when he did this
True
if you look 1369 is the actual max
The STRONGEST SHAPE ALWAYS wins the day
0:10 I had to replay this part like a double take like "you *what?* "
Tip for people interested in the game: More tires can help improve acceleration and top speed on non-flat surfaces, especially with shocks, because it means more grip putting power into motion at a time.
Thanks
17:22 thats a fast train lol
"We probably could get faster, but I'm not going to waste my time' 1:57 totally expected the video to just end right there

Air dynamic works both ways.aka put ramps behind the wheels pointing backwards
Not in this game!
This is what happen when you give the engineer an unlimited budget
9:44 I paused without looking to get a snack, and when I came back the face was on screen
Having less weight wont change your top speed. It will only change acceleration. Obviously there are small effects but for the purposes youre using this for, weight wont change your top speed.
Dog mouthing is so cute. My dog almost always mouths me when I come home.
Your dog clearly loves you ❤
Your wheels were going into the ground as the wheels in this game have a "suspension" of their own. It does affect your speed. Also the slim wheels are faster bc they weigh so little so can spin faster and smaller so need less triangles for aerodynamics.
6:09 if you attach a dragon jet to the front of a go kart seat with attachment bars it goes faster than that
Love this video, sequel is necessary. I was messing around with this a few months back and got to around 13,000 mph. Same basic wedge design as you, but spamming rockets instead of engines. Also, ditched the wheels. With rockets as a power source, they're unnecessary friction, and the game is coded kinda weird so that you go faster sliding/scraping the ground than on wheels. Adding fins for stability at those speeds is necessary for sanity, although it does cost you a little speed. Can also add two propellers on the rear perpendicular to the other engines for steering to help keep it straight. Also flip the seat upside down and tuck it in to the design so it doesn't stick up for less drag. Great video though, can't wait to see another!
@Justin Fernandez I mean, this is my issue with real life jet powered land speed records. Literally all they're doing is building a fighter jet and clipping the wings off. When you get to the kinds of speeds that the land speed record currently exists as, (which is at least in the transonic regime, last I checked,) the fact that part of the vehicle is "technically" touching the ground is really only incidental to the entire experiment, because the vast majority of the forces you're dealing with at that point are aerodynamic. The current standing "land speed records" are, functionally, "ground effect speed records," and there are plenty of actual aircraft that would easily defeat the records as they currently stand.
8:00この人のゲームプレイ中に実写出てくることとは、想定外でした。犬カワイイ。
To make it more aerodynamic, you should put ramps in the back side of the wheels, otherwise it will make a vacuum behind them, causing drag.
Wait, is that actually a thing in Trailmakers?
7:58 your dog is so freaking cute 😍🐕🐶

Only a small understatement.

ikr. i found this channel while watching df.
When you use plane jets to make a vehicle go 1660 kph when it's literally like 4x smaller than his XD
1st thing: there is a max speed in the coding
2nd: there is also aerodynamics on back in this game so that brick of engines need a slop on the back too.
3rd: keep it up! Great content!
I love the dog part, so cool, btw, ur an amazing character 2 listen 2, tx 4 the content 8D

What about the gravity speed record? Yes you can get a sonic boom just by falling!
That’s be easy go as high as you can put something that don’t burn up (if things burn up in the atmosphere like a heat shield would work) and you sit there and then

Please continue the trailmakers compaign you started
Dude, drag racing fan who also worked in a civil engineering firm here. Drag racing wheels WOULD be bad because they're super sticky and made for maximum acceleration under incredible stress. 4 seconds of acceleration with the main problem being grip because of the massive power. For maximum speed conversely, you want minimum grip, like 3mm of glass would be the perfect wheel if we could turn unbreakable on in the real world.
Maybe the Bloodhound LSR team should take some notes. xD
I nearly worked on that as part of my dissertation at uni! Would have beaten the record by now if I did I reckon 😂
7:38 what the dog doin
Yes, cockpit's the best seat for breaking speed...
And add some wings to get more speed?
Irl weight does not affect top speed only acceleration time. Also no downforce is not needed to go straight. More downforce=more drag
Yeah but when you're limited on space you need better acceleration to achieve a higher top speed. Also downforce is needed to go straight otherwise the vehicle will take off!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming i see
The default speed readout is in KPH, why’d he change it to MPH. He’s from the UK too. Do they use mph?
Yes we use mph in the UK
Yeah our road signs are in mph
Wait what? I always thought UK used kph
@@akashsarkar2001-r5k nah we use MPH on our cars and road signs, despite the fact that SI units were adopted for many things in the UK, there are some oddities. People often record their height in feet & inches, and their weight in pounds or stone. Liquids are commonly measured in pints. For scientific purposes, SI is absolutely expected, so we would never really learn to use MPH or traditional units in a classroom, but they are often used in everyday language.
@@hbskull321 I bet that gets confusing. In India we use metric literally everywhere. But when we measure height, breadth, area, volume we use Imperial, I never understood the reason
8:03 "hey, get da fak out of here"
The game calculates drag (behind the vehicle) , hope thats a good tip..
Would it be possible for you to create some kind of race structure like a velodrome?
It might be able to give you the distance needed to increase the speed of the car instead of being constrained by the boundary at the end of the world.
And if that works, would it be possible to create a hyperloop tunnel where there is limited air resistance?
There's already a loop in the game, but you need steering and can't make impossibly long vehicles
Yes
Do a collaboration with Scrapman!
Yes
This might have been thought of or recommended. But go from corner of the map to corner of the map, you'll get way more runway :)

I really like that you didnt use the jet engines, feels better :D (Only architects use jets on land vehicles :P)
now assuming 1366 is the max speed within the game, try to reach that with the minimum complexity or minimum weight
Drag Tyers are only for the rear. Not the front. If you put race on the front and drag on the back it will make a difference
Made it early! Keep up the awesome videos man! I'm loving the variety with the videos lately.
drag wheels are just good for acceleration i think
RCI: I’m in this testing map. It’s *huge*.

4th wall paddy interruption !!
It's cool that it shows the sonic boom, but that's not a singular moment, it's actually a constant phenomenon, and the angle is dependent on the speed at which you're going, so when you see it in this game it should be rather steep
8:00 is that a lab? i swear that dog looks exactly like Lexi.
lets be honest here he made a supersonic dong
So I have no idea if you'll see this as the video is so old, but aero also works going the opposite direction as well (meaning reflect the current and put it on the back side of the wheel)
So old!? Not really!! And yes, I read all comments still! I don't think aero works like that in this game!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming I'm going off passing knowledge from Scrapman, I'm pretty sure he went over it somewhere, I just can't find the video 😂
you've got a dw 9000 pedal! I like that a lot! drum cover coming soon!??

You can make bridges in trailmakers also if you plug in a Xbox one controller and hold rb and go to the preference menu you can select engines servos and thrusters and anything powered if you select a servo and lower the strength of it you can make it be a free Bering Along with the degrees being maxed (plus motorcycle wheels Are fastest) (another thing certain wheels have certain max speed the drag wheels max speed has yet to be found)
You don't need a continuous ramp of aerodynamic blocks. just make something, that looks like a heatsync out of wedges.
If you have a double sided point you can go fast because the air passes over it and pushes you, you can go a little faster that way
Aerodynamics also works in reverse, apply this fact to increase speed.
Not in this game I don't think!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming I've seen proof in a Trailmakers wall-climbing race made by Kan Gaming and Scrapman.
Someone already did this.
Not as fast I don't think!
Contradictory to popular belief, more mass actually gives BETTER top speeds, just lower acceleration.
