@@Driver_Eddie yea. It’s mainly the elevation. I used to live in Albuquerque and we got a little and then I moved to Santa Fe and we got a decent amount. It’s kind of like less Colorado where one day it’s in the 20s and the next it could be in the 60s. But yea like I said, it’s because of the elevation

I love that she didn’t understand your pronunciation of “water”. As an Australian travelling in USA I got that all the time. We say wadder, or warder, and it wasn’t understood.

As a person who learnt english as a 2nd language, Idk why people have trouble understanding “water.” I always understand “water” no matter which accent it’s said from.
@@nikoandroman That’s because people like you who are exposed to lots of different accents and languages have more flexible “ears” when it comes to understanding what is heard. You kinda expect variations and your brain is quicker to match a sound to a word to a meaning. Americans are notorious for needing subtitles to understand English when spoken with regional accents. They don’t travel as much, and have an abundance of their own media to absorb. I am talking in generalisations, of course.
@@nikoandroman I came here to say exactly what you said. It is inconceivable to me that a native English speaker can't associate that pronunciation of water to the word. In my native language, if someone speaks a word differently than what I speak, even if they mispronounce it, I can still understand it.
It makes me think that if that lady can't understand that ''water'' pronunciation, she can understand as much of British movies as she can understand Chinese movies.
