It´s strange that I am planning to do the opposite way that you did. 5 years ago I set Dunlop trailsmart tyres in my BMW gs and now I am about to set Pirelly Scropions trail 2 on it. And I must say that I have been very satisfied about Dunlops experience but I just want to try another different brand just to test them and know more options.
Regards from Cantabria, Green Spain, where it´s also raining a lot

Scorpions look like a good choice it’ll be interesting to see if they give you the feel and confidence you’re looking for or if that’s just down to the bikes geometry.....it’ll never feel like a Ducati!!
Agree with you it’s a big lump for green lanes a WR400 would be more fun but 3 bikes won’t make you popular at home!!

Agreed 100%. I reported to Honda and they told me no one else had reported this issue. Great in the dry but slightest touch of rain and the rear wheel wanders even at slow speeds. Very scary. Currently talking with Honda as I feel there is a safety issue here. Regardless of what they say I will be changing Asap before the bad weather. Hopefully no one gets hurt with these tyres.

Good luck buddy with Honda, it seems to be a common theme with lots of Japanese manufacturers fitting crap tyres! it’s amazing what a better quality tyre can do to a bike as transforms it! Let me know how you get on, cheers, GMAN

@@MrB590 I have them on a BMW F650GS. They are great on the street and very good on dirt roads and packed gravel. However, in mud or loose gravel they are limited. If you do mostly off-road or loose surfaces, look elsewhere. With that said, they are arguably the best 90/10 tire out there.

Great Video ! - Thanks - One other question about your windshield ( should be the mid size touratech ) and the swegotech deflektor ... how does it work for you ? and how tall are you ? ... you have the exact setup I was going to go for ... Thanks 4 ur response ! Cheers !

Hi Chris, think my screen maybe the short version, the screen and swegotech combo are not perfect but a million times less wind buffeting than the standard screen, I’m 5’7 tall 👍

Need to get a decent horn on that Africa Twin.... bet that cat just chuckled as you performed your impersonation of 'Road Runner' lol. Bloody scooter horns on decent bikes... whatever next.

Simple fix tho mate... My Kawasaki Versys stock horn is only slightly deeper but disgusting all the same. I wired in a pair of low and high tone car horns in addition to the OEM and boy that sound is frikkin good. Use a relay and protect with a fused circuit tho or the current draw may fry your horn button or continuously blow your existing circuit fuse

      @GMANS_BIKES_CARS  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Pirelli’s superb so far, even gave it a handful in the wet the other day and it just gripped with no issues like old tyres that would light up the traction control at a wiff of throttle in the wet, so I’m really happy with them 👍

I admire how you and your mates make time and just go for it. How do you pass that with your wife she must be one in a million. Are you in Spain? It's a long story but It's not easy for me to get away and do a trip. One day I will jump on the bike heading east and I will not stop until I get home from the west LOL. Nice vid

Leave for Spain in about 4weeks time, you are welcome to come too next year if you want too? My Wife is very understanding and doesn’t mind me going off on my trips as gives her some peace and she goes for a spa wend when I get back from Spain so all good! This video wasn’t that great but just quick tyre chat, new Monster vid coming next week 👍

“Why did you buy an Africa Twin if you aren’t going to take it off road?”
I think that a better question is, why is it your business? Did you pay the man’s bike?
Why are motorcyclist so obsessed with whatever everyone else is riding, wearing, and their style of riding? I have come to realize that the vast majority of motorcyclist are attention whores who want and need attention.
If you want to ride a motorcycle, buy what you like. Customize it for yourself, the way you like it. And own it like you won the lottery. What others think is their business and theirs only. Their opinion does not count unless they are asked for it.
I hate to sound mean, but to criticize someone for buying a bike and not using for “what it was designed for,” is stupid.
How many people buy sport bikes, get all leathered ip in leather racing suites looking like funny cartoon characters walking funny as if they were wearing diapers, but never hit the racetracks? How many of them push those bikes to their very limits of performance through the canyons and make it to tell about it. I am pushing those bikes to their performance limits. Most don’t have those skill, even though in their heads they do.
Hoe many people who buy any bike does that? How many people really get the 100% use of performance or use their bikes was designed? If you bike an ADV or dial purpose bike, how many minutes or hours must one put on the hike every day, week, or month to make others happy? So that others can give you their seal of approval for buying such a bike? What a joke most motorcyclist are. What a bunch of attention whore pussies! May be because I am a girl, I don’t have to act like a pussy to to be one. Sadly, more men are bigger pussies that I’ll ever be.
As for me, I buy a bike for several reasons. I love riding bikes and have been doing for for over 34 years. From liter sport bikes, to naked bikes, to ADV bikes. I’ve never crashed or fallen. Because I ride to impress me and not others. I ride minding my own business not what others are riding. I like looking at bikes at my local bike hang out, but to enjoy the beautify of bikes, not the people, and definitely not to criticize or question others for their taste. As ling as their riding doesn’t put me at risk because you are riding right on my tail revving you engine trying to pass me. I won’t move out your way, in fact I slow down even more, a-hole! Go scratch your testosterone itch scratched somewhere else.
I buy bikes that I like. Bikes that every single time I get off and walk away I have to look back at it. And of course, I try to buy the bike I like the most but can still function for the purpose I want.
Right now that bike is a 2021 Tenere 700. I am not a weekend dirt warrior. I don’t do technical riding. I do mostly street riding/touring with the occasional off roading that you encounter when you live in Mexico.
I purchase my bike for a trip through Central and South America but this pandemic is pushing my trip further back, to at least a couple of years from now. Meanwhile it is and will continue to be my commuter bike. So I am switching to these Pirelli Trail II tires. I don’t care what others think. My Tenere and I will be doing a lot of touring around the US and Mex for the next couple of years until it’s time for us to hit the road in the adventure of a lifetime.
So please people, get the bike the you like, modify it to your hearts content, and the hell with others. Life too short to worry about what others are riding. Mind on your own bike and skills. Live and let live! Because trust me, you are not God’s gift to motorcycling.
"Confidence on motorcycles is a good thing, but overconfidence to the point of being cooky is a REALLY bad thing. Which sadly, sooner or later ends up really bad for the bike, the rider, or both. Because in motorcycling, just like in life in general, those who live at the edge sooner or later fall off the edge. The problem is not falling off the edge, the problem is the landing. Ouch!" ~ Yashnia Galiani
