I’m Fortunate enough to own three CVO’s, including the 2024 STCVO I was able to Purchase at MSRP I was not paying a market adjustment price. The ST is a beautiful CVO, probably now my favorite. but they are all overpriced! No power locks, no rear speakers! I believe motor company is to blame for letting some of their dealerships charge a market adjustment price the MSRP is ready way too high. The only upside is my CVO’s have a little more higher residual value than a non-CVO.
I got my CVO ST for MSRP. Was it expensive? I don’t know everyone has their own threshold. I would hate to add up all the money I have in my ‘07 Street Glide that I’ll keep because I don’t want to give it away and I still like it. But of all the Harley’s I’ve owned this CVO ST will be the least modified one. I does need pipes. So far the bars and seat are fine but I need some more seat time on it to know for sure.

I just bought my Golden white pearl 2024 Road Glide CVO ST yesterday at Bluegrass Harley Davidson. It will be delivered to me this Friday. Thanks for the video, as it helped justify the price on this bike. I just had to have it. It looks fast parked.
I'd have to agree that one would be better off to buy a bike that already has all the upgrades. Much more cost effective. I wish I knew how much I have spent over the years on upgrades to all the bikes I have owned. If I were a rich person, yeah I'd buy top of the line out the door. ut I have never been that person lol! It just amazes me how much everything costs these days. Good video ABUSA! Ride and stay safe!
I just did a cost analysis in my spreadsheet, pricing all of the items I would need to change on a 2024 Road Glide to make it approach the quality of the CVO ST. Not touching the 117 motor at all, I'd need to spend $14,032 on parts just to make the standard like the ST. Now, after spending that, I'm still left with the stock 117 engine. I've upgraded the suspension front and rear, even replacing the forks with inverted SHOWA units, the bars, controls, brakes, levers, cables, and seat. But it still looks like a standard Road Glide, and guess what? It's kind of like putting lip stick on a pig when you think about it. It's still a pig. So... I proved to myself that I DO NOT want to go that route. IF I had to pay for labor, the price tag would be much higher, and I'd end up spending more than the difference in price ($17,000) just to have a better looking pig. (Though some would argue a pig looks better without lipstick, but you get it.). So... I'm going to save a few more coins and pull the trigger in June, most likely. CVO ST is the way. It is a PERFORMANCE bagger, no comparison with anything HD has ever produced.
As much as to some people would not fork up the extra money for the CVO ST over the standard Roadglide i will attest that i made this mistake by buying the 2020 Streetglide Special over the CVO. I ended up spending over $15k upgrading everything and still did not have the Rockford Fosgate and a few other CVO specific items. So spend the extra money and get a better performing bike and leave the motor alone and preserve the factory warranty is my honest advice.
Even if some can afford them, it's not sustainable to sell these bikes. All the ones that bought them last month...the time is running out for people that are willing to buy. Not to mention it's hard to get approved or asking wayyyy to much of a downor yet high interest is insane. I'm not sure how dealerships able to sell these bikes once the second batch get delivered again.
2 sad thoughts I have.. #1- no toe/heal shifter so the ones who’s wear crocs are going to have sore toes. #2- I won’t be surprised to see this bike heading to BikeWeek on a $1,000 trailer from Tractor Supply. (JustSay’n)
I have this bike sir the radio sucks compared to all the previous cvo modles performance is good the rest is good way better than the 23 they are high priced but they buy high and sell high
I got my 2024 Road Glide CVO ST for $10K off MSRP, and then they threw in an extended 5-year warranty, and $1000 credit on parts and accessories. And then I woke up.
Its a great "performance bagger" themed HD stock bike... Anyone that has built a performance bagger knows you're way better off buying a standard RG and build it with the real aftermarket stuff and ahead $$$$. I dig the CVO ST, but hardly a "performance bagger" though the resale if you dont fugg with it will be there.
And after you do all that work, you still have the crappy front forks. You going to change to inverted front forks with adjustable rebound and damping? And another $6,000 plus labor. You're right, man, if you like wrenching more than riding, buy cheap and start buying new parts. EDIT: Great video, a lot of good points made here. For those who are on the fence and can't decide, give it a few days, then ask this: WILL YOU BE HAPPY NOT GETTING ONE?
You are always better off buying with all the upgrades that come with the bike, (CVO) if you add all the upgrades after, you will never get all your money back on sale or trade in. Book going to show it as a standard Road Glide.
Getting a regular SG/RG and then add the stuff will get you to the MSRP of the CVO with give and take but…it’s NOT going to be a CVO period. It may look like one… Only reason I would never buy a CVO is that it’s somewhat limited as far as the paint goes meaning a small chip and your CVO status is gone cause you repainted it or whatever the case may be… Perhaps someone’s more knowledgeable on this matter… Very nice video there boss👌👌🫡🇺🇸🌵
Yeah, buy a new CVO or CVO ST 121 that's limited at 110 mph while my 2020 114 hit 135mph ? It's only 44k. lol Good luck with that? Tho point of a CVO is to not do anything because it 44 or 51k
Welp.... you get all the gimmicks upfront with a stage 2 power level... if you don't want to do your own upgrades it makes sense... for me... I like 150hp+ engines, I almost pulled the trigger, happy I didn't... it didn't make sense on my situation... If it makes sense to you.... go get it 💪😎🏍💨
Dude no way you getting $10,000 off z a brand new Harley!! Go price a used one and see what they demanding. I said it once I will say it again, Harley Davidson motorcycles maintain their value!!!
won't be brand new in a year..... they will be on cycle trader for 35k take a look this time next year that's still holding value but natural law of market depreciation always wins
They look great! I don’t think I’d pay that for one but they certainly have caught my eye!

Good explanation, but who really needs all the extra stuff?. How many people would like to own the standard one?
each buyer knows their needs so case by case i'm sure !
I came pretty close to your numbers based on my calculations. I am pulling the trigger on the CVO St tomorrow. Trading my 22 ST.

For a standard Road Glide billiard gray with chrome which is the cheapest model available, $33,000 out the door.

It looks fantastic, but new Harley's have just gone so far out of my budget range I feel like I will be keeping my 2007 Dyna forever.
I priced them where I'm at and they want $33K for the base SG/RG and $53K for the CVO ST OTD with no add-ons! 🤑
wow!
49,000.00 OTD in my area.
