I just made this rice bowl. I didn't have most of the ingredients here. So I ended up using the ones I had in the fridge like cabbage, carrots, celery and even potatoes and added spring onions for the greens. I didn't have gochujang either. I used red chilli sauce instead. I had leftover rice with me, so i didn't have to cook it. I tweaked the recipe (hope you don't mind) by using ingredients available in an Indian household and added the sauce (yum, yum) at the end of the cook. My father, who usually doesn't comment on the food unless particularly asked to, voluntarily asked me, "what is this? It tastes so good". So, thank you. My family loved your recipe.❤

I tried this and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't miss meat at all, because the mushrooms are so meaty. The seasoning sauce is wonderful. I will definitely make this more often. It's important though to watch your pot while you cook, the rice is at the bottom and will easily burn if you are not careful. Thanks for posting this!

Incredibly good. Made it with sweet potatoes cut the same as the dicon radish. Used an instant pot. Sauteed a little garlic and onion in it first, stirred in rice and water and assembled as per video. 5 minutes on high pressure steam , 10 minutes to cool off (leave vent closed). Open vent and lid and stir...DONE AND DELICIOUS!! Never would have imagined this combo of ingredients would taste sooo good..thank you for the recipe!!!!

I tried this last night, with a couple variations: I had shitake on hand, and over-wintered collard greens growing out my kitchen window. I keep lentil sprouts (my own) on hand all the time. Layered it in my rice cooker, with a drizzle of sesame oil over all. Top-dressed the completed dish in my favorite hand-thrown preheated bowl (I'm a potter) and added a tin of anchovies with the egg. It turned out amazingly well. I'm glad I had gone to Hmart this week on my only outing! Stay safe everyone.

This is a delicious recipe. I make it quite often. I vary the vegetables. I live in the West. The elevation is 5,000 feet. I have found that I need to add about a quarter of a cup more water for soaking the rice and add 2 or 3 more minutes to cook time. I can't get fresh bean sprouts where I live, so I grow my own mung beans. I cut up one sweet potato into the pot as Maangchi said her mother used to do. Delicious. I love the mushrooms in this recipe also. I shared this recipe with a friend and her family enjoyed it as well. My friend wondered if brown rice could be used in place of long grain white rice. Would that change the cooking time? Thank you, Maangchi, for the wonderful recipes!
