That's actually how I've been making jabchae for years, ever since a Korean colleague I've met in NY told me about this technique of soaking the noodles first and cooking everything in one pan. The noodles don't stick as much when you pre-soak them. It's even easier if when you make a vegan version you don't need to cook the omelet or the meat beforehand 👍

Maangchi, I made this tonight after being so curious about this that I decided to go to my local Asian market and bought everything. IT'S SO DELICIOUS, AND SO QUICK. I haven't ever been as excited about a new recipe as I was for this one. I made this while I watched this video, and it was like having you right in my own kitchen. I smiled the entire time. I can't wait to make this for my boyfriend.

I love this lady. I was stationed in Korea for 3 years in the navy. Wonderful friends and experiences. What I missed most when I returned to the states was the food. The restaurants were rather pricey for what I like and then I found Maangchi on TH-cam. What a relief! I have learned soooo much from her. I make all of my korean dishes now. My Korean friends still keep in touch and call me and can't wait to visit and taste my food. Those are the real critics!

    Ahhhh~~~ so awesome!
I am a high school teacher who teaches Korean and Choir, and this past week Monday and Thursday I took 60-70 students each day to a cultural field trip in K-Town. One of our destinations was an all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant that included a buffet and my group of mostly non Korean students really liked the japchae so yesterday I showed my classes your previous japchae recipe video. How funny that I would get a present 🎁 of an easier version recipe upload from you today!
All my students already know you because I introduce you to my classes as my favorite Korean food TH-camr right from the beginning of the school year. 😘
I will show them this version on Monday when I get back to school.
Gonna make you my best friend one day! 😍❤️😆

I like wood ear mushrooms so much. They remind me my grandma’s dish. She was Chinese. She used the mushrooms in most of the dishes.

Love this easy way ! This is very similar on how I make mine because I’m pressed for time. I will definitely put pork belly and a few other ingredients in my next batch.

Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦. So happy to have found your channel.
My daughter lived in Paju Korea for a year teaching English. She mentioned a dish that was sesame leaves. She doesn't remember what it was called. She is vegan now and I love to cook for her and would like to surprise her with making this dish.

I’m moving and basically have two pans and none of my mixing bowls with me so I tried this version and it turned out great! And all the flavors and textures are still there. I might actually even like it better than when I tried the Traditional way. Also I used beef instead of pork but it still works.
