    like the idea marking up the ply first, cutting it and than just transfering it to your noggings. never done it like that, but makes sense, u dont have to climb up and down to mark up the noggings as well :) will definetaly try it this way

      Cheers mate, yeah it’s a good little time saver! Just number your ply up and yours nogs so you know where they all go 👌👌

    To get the nogging for the ridge height I just measure the height of the gurder truss then mark that of the bottom chord. 👍

    Nhbc won't accept 4x1 nailed to u/side of diminishing trusses on our site only accept 4x1cut min 12" and cut on pitch of roof to be fixed under every truss where meets diminishing truss

    • @ashleydavenport3794
      @ashleydavenport3794  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can’t see it clearly there but it’s a 4x2 cut with the angle of the roof on it! Yeah we used todo it like your saying too! All a load of rubbish 🤣👎

      It’s mainly to an edge to work to when fitting the trusses but also it supports the over hanging truss so we don’t have to nog them out ! Cheers for your comment 👌

    Great video, how do you work out the angles for the lay boards? Cheers

    • @ashleydavenport3794
      @ashleydavenport3794  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice one! Need to find the centre point of the roof, make sure it’s level from the top of the other trusses, then it just needs to hit the corners on the 2 lower point. Just check with a level or your eye accross the plain of the roof. Bit hard to explain I’ll get a video in abit more detail soon. Check out my other vids I have one about fitting valley trusses. Maybe that will help abit more! Cheers for your comment 👌

      ashley davenport should be used on every site. Makes it a lot quicker for us boys to put the roof up and makes it a hell of a lot safer! Even better when you accidentally drop your hammer and don't have to jump down to get it 😂
