Dave Pirner and Soul Asylum are one of the most underrated bands of all time. Dave writes some of the most under appreciated, great lyrics and he always has a good band. There are so many songs he has written that are more relevant than most of the other crap out there but most of it gets lost. I wish I could get them more airplay and attention but whatever I do fails.
Get Daves book! The stories behind his writing and the process he uses is fascinating!
OK, I was broke when it came out, so I torrented it. Its the most fascinating anthology of lyrics I've ever read.
Music like this is a bit over the heads of the masses. I've been a fan since 89, and there are people who are open to new experiences in this life.
Look to writers like Leonard Cohen, StephenJenkins, and Butch walker,. If someone is interested in you, they'll take an interest in Soul Asylum.
My ex wife and I hadn't spoke in 25 years. One of the first things she said was she has 5 Soul Asylum albums in her car.

After co-founder guitarist Dan Murphy left the band, I thought Dave Pirner was trying a little too hard to carry on Soul Asylum's legacy all by himself as the last remaining original member. Well, I was wrong. He still writes great songs and obviously still loves performing. I'm happy to see Michael Bland is still sitting behind the drum kit- the guy is awesome.

Nice song! And I`m surprised Dave still looks as young as in the mid-90ies, when I last listened to them a lot. So lovely they still make good music like this. Hope they'll tour Germany again.
I'm musician and my trajectory has been changed since I saw a Soul Asylum show in BH _ Brasil... I didn't knew so much about the band and this was amazing!.. because I was openminded and I see an unforgettable show, one of the best of my life...
