The small moments with you and your family just chatting and laughing like any regular family is very endearing. A lot of online presences edit and remove moments like that to have "cleaner" videos but I think it makes you more relatable :) please keep those moments in future videos if you can :) and of course the dishes looked DELICIOUS like always

Such lovely recipes! I love that I can find all ingredients (except Ume) in Taiwan. One secret I've learned from French and Taiwanese cuisine alike is, you have to fry the mushrooms before using then into other recipe, you have to make sure they have enough space in the pan, not overlapping, so that they all get nice and golden-brown (not burnt). It totally changes the flavours of any mushroom from champignons to Shiitakes, it brings out a nutty, toasty flavour.... It makes a BIG difference! Even a simple plain mushroom soup will taste great if you pre-fry the mushrooms. Try it out! Your family might actually like them. And your little boy is just adorable!!

I was baffled my entire adult life by the great affection others had for sweet potato as the only kind most commonly found (where I grew up as well as where I moved and lived my early adult years) was the orange sweet potato. Then one day I discovered purple flesh WHITE sweet potato. Then I understood the great love people have for this vegetable.😋😍

Did u ever try using raw potatoes, peel them off and then cutting them in small cubes before putting them in hot oil? U do this for like 20-40 Minutes depending on the amount until they are all really crispy. Bro I swear it tastes better than any potatoe crisps or chips u have eaten or any baked potatoe u had before!

Thanks you for some autumn inspiration. In general we all like the autumn veggies, though my husband does not eat the mushrooms and my daughter is a bit picky about the kabocha (unless I make a cake with it hahaha) . I found kabocha the other day in my local supermarket so I was so happy. And I already made kinpira with sweet potato, such a fun alternative on the regular gobo kinpira. Last year I made a sweet potato mochi daigaku imo style. That was fun too so propably make that this season again :) And I always look forward to making kabocha salad every year. And button mushrooms or enoki go great in a shoyu su marinee. I always keep them raw so even my husband eats it then.

I am going to try making the miso soup with parsnips instead of carrots, and add celery root into the curry instead of squash (it's what I have in my fridge). I think 21 minutes was a great length of time for the video- I would have missed anything cut out. And in regards to my staple fall recipe- there is a cabbage farro soup (by Joshua McFadden) that I make all the time, as well as a braised turnip bowl (The Woks of Life).

Our kitchen in Tokyo is small, so the big oven never really fits! haha
I wish I had a separate one though! haha

This video is packed with recipes i want to try this fall c: And don't worry, 21 minutes is not too long in my opinion. A family favourite for fall is a pumpkin soup with potatoes and carrots which gets blended so you have a nice, thick, creamy consistency ^-^

Hi Miwa! In many of your videos you use dashi powder packets. I have never seen them here in the States (including my small local Japanese market). I make my own dashi with kombu. Can you please explain how to use this in your cooking, when the dashi powder is unavailable? Is it possible just to add a piece of kombu and remove later? Thanks so much! Looking forward to trying these recipes! Also, I use your videos in the kitchen and pause as needed while cooking so the length of the video is fine for me.

I love these seasonal recipes so much! How long can you keep the miso soup in the fridge for? I want to make a large batch and have it over the week but don't want the soup to go bad :(

Since there are only 2 seasons where I live, most of these vegetables are available all year round (except for the mushrooms, they're a bit hard to come by 😅). Will try meal prepping next wknd, I'll definitely include some of these dishes :)
Btw I loved your kid's singing at 14:59, super cute!! And also, yes, I'm also happy when small conveniences happen unexpectedly like peeling off the entire onion skin in one go. It feels victorious! Haha

I am so interested in you bean and seed mixture that you add to your rice. Do you make the mixture yourself or do you buy a brand for it. I must have it and know how you get it and or make it. I'm new to your channel and am so excited to learn your techniques .
