For those of us who are not tall (I'm 5'9") the back seats are okay. The trunk is a decent size. It compares very favorably against the Genesis G70 with the 3.3T. Dealer experience is good, resale value should be good, reliability should be good.
@@JayJay-he9bkthat is very true, but the TLX has less rear leg room than a 2010 Honda Accord.. 2.5” less to be exact and while being 3.7” to 0.3” longer (depending on the accords trim). Less rear seat leg room than a Mazda 3, a car notorious for its tiny rear seat leg room. Now I know the TLX has a long hood that has to make room for their larger V6 engine so I could understand this more for the Type-S trim, you still have the same cramped numbers even in their smaller 4-cylinder variants where they could’ve just pushed the dash back some more and pulled the front seats forward to give the rear some more space. I find that last part even more relevant since the 4-cylinder trims outsell the V6 trims for obvious reasons (pricing, availability, fuel economy). (Before you say anything about these two cars not being comparable to the Acura, I totally agree. I just wanted to use them as an example as those were the two cars that popped into my head at the time.)
I’m sure it’s been mentioned in past reviews of this generation TLX, but the audio system in the car is one of the very best I’ve heard in a car less than $80k.
Have had my 23 Type S for a little over a year now and really enjoy this car as much today as the first day I bought it. I wanted a great handling car that you can have fun with on the back roads and a comfortable ride on long trips. I have not had one issue with it and priced everything else in this segment and can't beat it for the price. Also like the fact when I pull into a parking lot I don't see another one and get tons of compliments on the car even when there are a lot of higher priced cars around it.
I think some of these models should not be Acuras but Hondas. I'm from Europe. We had the Honda Legend, Honda Intergra, Honda NSX. To almost the whole world, Acura is some weird USA brand. If that makes sense. So personally I don't like these cars being Acuras now. Also because we don't have Acura at all in Europe we'll never get to buy these models. Which is a bitter thing. We have the Civic Type R. But no Integra Type S for example.
Hi, from Japan!! I want to ask Todd and Paul how you two think about sunroof when you drive a sports car. Sunroof is definitely beautiful and comfortable I think but it gives you more weight on top of the car. That means it looses little bit of their balance more than normal roof. So how do you to have a sunroof on a sports car??
Yes, it definitely adds weight and raises the center of gravity on a car. But, when a car is already large and heavy it has little effect. A large sedan isn't undermined much by having one. Thanks for watching as always!
Sir please get over the back seat. You not driving from the back seat. Keep in mind most people in this price bracket have an SUV as the second vehicle.
Why buy this big heavy sedan if you can’t even use the back seats? That makes no sense. Buy the Integra type-s and get a more useable, cheaper and better handling car.
It's a 195" long car with the space of a last gen Golf. It is 100% a valid complaint. And the only reason it's that long is because they had to mask its FWD econo-car proportions.
Heavy, looks old already, and auto upshifts, the price makes this a dumb buy. Germans will do what ever this is trying to do better for the same price.
Only thing Germans can do better is waste your money and get you to the shop within a year of ownership 😂they are overpriced piece’s of plastic. And of course it’s going to auto upshift it’s a automatic💀
No, not "of course". My 17 year old roadster can hold the 5AT up to 7,500 RPM in any gear, won't auto-upshift. Ever. Same for all Z34's and G's, Q50's etc etc. Why can't Acura do that?
@@jacquesc3166 idk maybe cause it damages the car Lmao? and this is Honda/acura and they care about reliability and are king of high rpms with vtec, but the type s is not vtec.
Looks old already? Best looking car in it's segment. Germans are more expensive with less features for the money. Germans have speed until the car breaks.
A 330i xDrive (not an M340i) optioned with all the features that come standard on the Type S TLX is actually the same price. And the TLX Type S beat the M340i's lap time at MotorTrend.

I don’t think any sedan in the class has great backseat leg room

I need to watch more of these POV driving vids. I love them
Comfort is for long hwy driving. Love my comfort mode.
Love these POV reviews! Makes it seem like you get a virtual test drive.
For all those guys complaining how under power the Honda accord is well this the car to get if you want bigger turbo and performance handling!
This is a sedan for single dudes. I guess that's why I love mines so much. Get a valved aftermarket exhaust and you are gooood.
Gives off the old Acura legend vibes
They need to bring back the legend.

How do think this compares against the S5 and CT5V? I would argue those offer better performance. Would like to get your thoughts. Thanks.
Love the car but not a big fan of the infotainment. Hopefully Acura will keep it around for a while.

@@TestDriveVideosOh, I didn’t know that it depends on how big and how heavy the car is!! Really appreciate for the reply!!
Did they stop producing these?!?! There’s barely any on the lots!!
So basically the trunk space was more important than rear passengers
Throttle House called this car our as a basic sedan that falls apart when pushed
This should have a manual. Just saying. Not that we have these in Europe at all though....
What bmw fake rumble? You mean on the electric vehicles? Cus my rumbles just fine 😊
Many Modern BMWs augment the exhaust note with sound coming from the speakers.
0-60 is not mid 5’s man, why u gotta violate it like that 😂
*mid 4s*
Exactly 😆
Car & Driver got 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.
Todd, it is simply too heavy.
Todd would like most modern cars to lose 500lbs or more. But this is where we are. Thanks for watching.
If only it were a Wagon
