4:10 It may look more natural for the side step animation to move your lead foot first and follow with the back foot, similar to a boxing stance for stability.
another brilliant installment. dramatically unsheathing is always a good moment. I couldn't help but notice in the b roll at the end that you placed a head in your inventory.
Loved seeing that sword throw, surprised that it severed so many body parts though. It would be cool to see more models and personality sliders. If you managed to make this a continuously generated world, it could become something great with lots of replay-ability.
Yeah, the throwing has not been balanced, that's for sure. The game will have large generated worlds, but the world's themselves probably won't be infinite. Reason being that my goal is to create a world that's truly alive, so things can happen in other areas of the map that don't involve the player, rather than games like skyrim which try to create the illusion of a living world, I want to actually have one, and that will take a lot of back ground processing power that wouldn't be practical with an infinite world. I want the experience of coming back to a town to see it destroyed or over run with by the undead or having new encampments formed dynamically.
@@code4broke That sounds like an absolutely amazing game! I can't wait to see where you take it, but I'll keep enjoying your updates as you post them. I'm excited already :)
I love how when they are all chasing him at about 4:43 that one guy says "Stop right there!" to a limbless person. I really hope you can succeed in your dream here its very intriguing. Also here's an idea: what if while fighting you would get blood on you and that would alert the ai people, to get it off you would have to got to some sort of pond or shower or something.
I've been trying to find a way to put blood on characters that doesn't look awful but it's difficult with sprite sheet animations without adding a lot of extra work
This looks like some huge progress, great work! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with character customization with the limb system. Clothing ripping and potentially having your sliced off arm dangling in your shirt would look wild and potentially bionic limbs would be sweet.
I'm looking into a 2D physics style dangle for broken limbs but it's going to take some effort to get right. I was thinking peg legs could be fun for pirates
It's just single player so far but as I've said, I plan on developing this for a very long time, even after it's released, so multi-player isn't out of the question, just not the priority right now
Ah, it's always great to see you making progress on your game! Regarding the opening scene. . . Are you sure that's actually blood on the ground? It looks pretty brown, and they're not wearing any pants.
Honestly I thought your youtube channel was a lot bigger. Never realized you had below a thousand views tbh. I really like these videos regardless. Do you plan to make different armor styles in your game down the road?
Haha TH-cam is playing games with my heart for sure. Definitely way more armor coming, the thing is, since I generate sprite sheets for my animations, every time I add a new animation I have to create new sprite sheets for every piece of gear and every limb that can be removed, it's mostly automated with scripts but still requires enough clicking around to be annoying. So, I've been waiting to get most of the basic animations done before I add more equipment or it becomes a chore every time I add a new animation.
@@code4broke Dang that sounds hard. I'd love to see armor layers or simply medieval armets and stuff like that, that would be cool if possible. Good luck and happy easter if you celebrate
Kingdom come deliverance could somehow be some good inspiration for combat as it's the greatest combat system in a first person "rpg". You really suck at the beginning because you don't know how to fight&are not instantly perfect. You gotta slowly improve. Has a nice feel to it.
You're remembering it wrong. "Shwing" is the sound that hip thrusts make.
Regardless, the GWAR mosh pit does look even better now.
3:08 grey dude doesnt touch the ring, not even once :)
Swords man or civilized man
bro every video you make is an absolute banger. Get a new Code4Broke Video > or solve World Peace, Ending World Hunger, Ending Poverty, Ending disease

Great so now everybody knows I can't box?
I will be following this until the very end! My favorite kind of game in the making!
I cant wait to see dwarf fortress style battles with this game, if they ever get implemented of course. This looks great
They're coming

New animations look great. I especially like how they all feature naked men

Add crossbow
Bows are about 60% implemented right now, just missing the animations and A.I. usage.

so i started watching from the beginning of your videos today. and im curious. Vancouver or Toronto? idw but im feeling west coast vibes
I'm from the West but not Vancouver, a little more inland than the coast. Good intuition on type of Canadian though

Why's the blood looking so black once it's on the ground?
Just a minor issue from when I added shading, it'll be red again soon haha.
Is this going to be an online sandbox RPG or single player? Watched all your videos so far so I’m excited to see the progress!
