I actually managed to BREAK the VOID negotiator scripting, and haven't gotten them to go hostile on me. It involved the negotiator (quest giver guy that starts that dialogue) being downed during a fight with traders they were hostile with via being anaesthetised with the Character Editor screen. After they woke up (I removed the anesthesia, allowing the surviving trader convoy to flee off the map), it counted as me rescuing them, and they became guests at my colony (Hospitality mod). I clicked them in the Guest tab and sent them away, dismissing them as I don't want guests until I have good accommodations for them (a low priority overall). They left peacefully. I'm currently on day 35 or so, made noticeable progress on the base and defenses. Nowhere near ready to repel VOID grade attackers, but decent. AND VOID IS STILL NEUTRAL TO ME. The 30 day countdown for me to get the f*ck off their planet never started, and hence it never had cause to expire to begin with. I'm ready to expand at a more leisurely pace, run a lucrative organ harvesting operation (Harvest Everything, Death Rattle, Less Arbitrary Surgery, VGP Garden Medicine), build an army of hybrid creatures (Vanilla Genetics), mechanoid bois (Mechanoid Foundry), experiment with modded psycasting and RimWorld of Magic classes, build an army, a fortress, expand my Empire mod settlements. Then, I will out-VOID the VOID, and make their augmentation program look like Baby's First Bionics, and their military, a bunch of cub scouts.
No matter how good your infantry armor gets it can't take the impact of a mounted weapon. Now, compared to an autocannon a black powder sphere is pretty slow, but if it hits you it's going to ruin your day regardless.
@@TooFewSecrets Yeah, you can make armors to deal with explosions or energy but no amount of armor can stop pure metal from killing infantry outside of a vehicle.
I've had troops before capable of beating VOID-cu-cks in hand to hand. 6 of my melee specialists vs 6 VOIDtards on an Item Cache mission. One of my guys loses one leg, holding off 2 VOID guys at the same time for 15 precious seconds, while the other 5 gank the other 4. As soon as one enemy falls, my victorious guys are dogpiling on the closest enemy, and downing them, and so on. I'm smacking them with Rimworld of Magic abilities all of this time. And I WIN. 1 downed, several wounded on my side versus 2 dead 4 downed for VOID. And my guys weren't even at their maximum possible augmentation level. They just had very good melee skills (20 or near 20), Supreme Melee, Melee Damage and Speed mods, nanomachine melee weapons (Archotech Expanded), Expanded Prosthetics and Organ Engineering advanced bionics, No More Lethal Damage Threshold mod, Death Rattle (these two to avoid stupid deaths), Rimworld of Magic Classes (two Shadows, two Monks, two Psionics), and all of it was pre-Ideology and pre-Biotech. What some people call "elite" in terms of augmentation, training and equipment, I call "entry level". I demand results from my troops. I demand the best. And I get it.
One thing I've noticed among the rimworld YT'ers is they all have the same level of confidence in being able to handle anything and it always happens right before the ai backhands their base into last year.
I would say it happens to most Rimworld players. Once I thought the same, having 12 pawns, 10 androids and nuclear missiles. And when I was at my highest point, mechanoid raid coupled with infestation and solar flare did a number on me resulting in reactor meltdown and my big ass ammunition storage exploding and setting fire to a quarter of the base.

I mean, considering that they come from the Dead Frontier universe, where the best armor and weapons are literally made of rotting human flesh, and they liberally inject samples of the zombie virus to heal from small scratches, seems pretty in-character.

As someone who has seen couple of the ol' Void lads from Dead Frontier in action, I have to admit, this mod does them good justice at the end, one guy, that's it, that's all you get and it's enough to just end you. Those boys and their Dusk gear. So good.

Honestly one thing you could do in the future is do the same set up for a colony, but set up a "helms deep" behind your colony for when the AI drop pods on you first defensive line.... Cause im fairly certain they target your colonist's beds for those events
Old post, but drop pods always target a stockpile transponder thing (completley blanking out the name), the game tries to drop enemies as close as possible to it. If it's under a mountain it will literally drop a pod through a single square of non overhead mountain if it can. If not it tries to get as close as possible.
I love how Rarr was worried about the crunchiness of the meat because of the implants, and not because half of the weight of that corpse was lead from the grapeshot.

perfect timing, just started a run with void enabled myself. I can already tell this'll be a banger vid. (edit: it was) Also doing this with CE must have been extremely painful.
Back on 1.2, I did a playthrough with void and CE and revia race (basically anime foxgirl with that big number scaling for their sacrifice mechanics) I installed the op one just because I think the girls would finally beat those fancy purple man and their birth control pills that grows your limbs back from oblivion. And have I mentioned I play on igor for those juicy double damage? So this is the story, everything went well for the first 30 days, no void raids, just their big fancy abomination roaming around nothing much. Then the first void raid happens, they caused solar flare, dropped off right in the middle of my farm, have a fight with one of my fancy fox waifu, get annihilated. I was overjoyed "finally, I beat the void" or so I thought. Days goes on and here we are at year 5 of my fancy fox waifu colony, I gor bored ans decided to go dev mode and summon the max value void raid. Unsurprisingly, the guys come with high numbers along with their big fancy abominations. Needless to say my fox waifu was outnumbered, they managed to kill some of their abomination. In that very moment, I realized that there is no way to win this and it is already too late to retreat or even run. So I decided to just let them stand their ground being overrun and outnumbered, facing those fancy abomination blade to blade. One by one of those fancy abomination started to fall, and my hope arise "we can win this" or so I thought. But RNGeesus said otherwise, one of my fancy waifu has broken down, running in panic and get shot straight to her brain and caused her immediate death then as usual, igor and his mischief just send the void reinforcement and the rest is history.
For me CE with void basically forces into a early nomad run. stay on the run for a while, collecting weapons armor and equipment from small raids (preferably from the other chicken plucker factions and mods v.o.i.d is meant to be played with (like rimmu nation task force 141 and war mongrels)) while researching and robbing as many ancient dangers as possible. Basically grinding out before settling and meeting void.

I just started playing with the V.O.I.D today made a colony with clones and later got attacked by some zombies. They demolished my poor clones and trashed my base only leaving a few survivor's. And TBH it was fun ass fuck!!
Harvest organs post mortem made VOID not easy, but bearable. Combined with the DOOM mod's ueavy assault cannon, and you have an easy game once you get there.
Suggestion for a QOL mod: _Eating Without a Table is Okay_ I forgot who the author is, but it’s a good QOL for if you don’t wanna build tables all the time.
I remember when I got raided by the void the first time was just one guy with the crazy machine gun they have in like a wine bottle the only reason why I managed to kill him what's because I had a guy in marine armor acting like tank in another guy with like brawler in like 20 skill in melee with a Persona mono sword excellent quality Edit combat extended
I was wondering, how i would be able to deal with that fucko called void. I came up with a solution: kill box with 24 KPV ready to lit up anyone who DARE to walk into it. Mutants? They just overwhelmed with storm of bullets. Void themselves? They're armour breaks faster that they are able to do any significant damage.

The corpse thing with VOID creatures is because they all have hidden effect that massively speeds up corpse deterioration
And if you manage to butcher it the meat comes with the debuff to mood if eaten.

Void with Hardcore SK mod pack is,,, painful, but fun. YUou absolutely do need to add a stronger weapon mod though.

I was wondering, how i would be able to deal with that fucko called void.
I came up with a solution: kill box with 24 KPV ready to lit up anyone who DARE to walk into it. Mutants? They just overwhelmed with storm of bullets. Void themselves? They're armour breaks faster that they are able to do any significant damage.

tried to fight them with supreme melee installed is a mistake. they parrying the bullets.
luckily i could just befriend them and get their bionic and gear for free every 2 weeks.
only one shouldn't be to difficult ... well ... uhm ... meet the executive i guess :D
