Way back in the Dueling Network days i was playing against a dude who dropped Obelisk and attacked. I activated Mirror Force. He called a judge and the judge, upon showing up, before either of us said anything, said "Mirror Force doesn't target. Obelisk is destroyed".
That is baecause he didn't play a Monarch/Obelisk deck or he could have used march of the monarchs

Dude should have checked the log to see if any lingering effects prevented obelisk from dying. Shit judge

Am I missing something? Why doesn’t he get the second counter as mastery allows you to add a counter for each SPM you control or in GY, then one for the activation?
@@helixplays5190 the guy was trying to add 1 counter to each card from mastery's effect because he misread the card. coder was very specific in saying mastery's effect only gave him 1 counter(from mastery's effect). which is true, the other counter to citadel would come from mastery activating as a spell, not it's effect. hope this helped.

A token is still treated as a monster card when it's on the field, it only disappears when it gets removed from the board (destroyed, banished, bounced), therefore, it can be equipped as an equip card by Plasma's effect as long as it stays on the board. Am I right?

Modern comment, but I definitely haven't played as much Yu Gi Oh but I knew that was true because of Immortal Phoenix Gearfried, I've used him to pick up a token before via his steal effect when he attacks.

Probably was a question about him activating monster reborn while a card he wanted to summon was in the graveyard then that card getting D.D. Crow’d or something in response and then he wanted to know if he could still get it back.

Koty might be meming, but I had a pro player sit in front of me and tell me that tokens "cannot exist between boards" and henceforth cannot be equipped to other cards after losing a match and getting it ruled against him.

@T.J. Johnson I honestly have always thought that tokens can be equipped, just giving 0 ATK if it gives ATK (like a face-down monster would do). Granted, I did ask Coder before to be sure, but my gut has always believed tokens could be equipped. :-)
He didn't know. He just pretended he was trolling after being exposed. It's probably likely that he sharked a lot of players out of wins at nats now.

The ruling in goat format did vary at some events. It is actually a common belief by many players that tokens disappear when being equipped
Upper deck was insane with some of the old rulings due to no database existing to chronicle all of them. My favorite ruling is chaining Book of Moon to Mirror Force protecting ALL of your monsters because "no more attack"

I've been playing alot of Goats, and just going to the UDE rulings, looking up the cards in question, and just having an answer that doesn't need to be argued out is so relieving. Why doesn't the TCG have an official compendium for rules?

FUCKING THIS. I came back to the game over a year ago at this point after, and while still playing, Magic. The biggest fucking gripe I've had with this game is there's no easily accessible compendium of game knowledge like Magic's CR which is the easiest PDF in the world to find. I'd kill for that document.

You can activate another duality if the first one gets negated, hint the activation was negated. So therefore the duality was never activated
yep and cards like nibiru can only attempt activation once because the word "use" is used and not "activate"

I will say koty's question about the token equipping is something Ive never ran into, and I didn't think it would work that way either. Nice to know though haha
Tokens can only exist face-up on the field, and no other place or way.
You'll notice that an equip spell card, which a token can be via the effect of Plasma/Thousand-Eyes Restrict, is still a card face-up on the field.
This is why I DONT duel on Dueling Book full of people that dont know the RULES of cards or cant read the cards effect or what ever its called now

Where can I get my hands on a copy of the rules of card interactions, would help greatly as a while ago I didn’t know about the link rule on how certain link monsters can be used as certain levels of material, so knowing this would be helpful

To Simplify the Token Rule....
If Equip Spells can Target Tokens, so can Plasma. Unless told otherwise (I.E. Cards or Floodgates that Negate Monster Effects)
old to this but yea as iv'e seen it Tokens only pop when leaving the field changing control is not leaving the field so it doesn't pop as for equipping unless it states it can't be equipped because it doesn't leave the field nothing is stopping a card from equipping a token.
I think if i understand is that Token technically don't "Die" because they don't hit the GY due to them just popping off the field and not being able to exist there. This goes to show that even the best of us sometimes gets simple things wrong.

You know that bit about tokens equipped by relinquished cannot be destroyed by card effects got me thinking. Is Relinquished's effect to destroy the equipped monster a card effect and if so what happens if Relinquished cannot destroy it's equipped card?

A Token can be treated as an Equip Card by a card effect, but cannot be Special Summoned from the Spell & Trap Zone after that. 🤣🤣🤣
This is why I play ygo pro you don’t have to deal with this I only play dueling book with friends that actually know how to play but if I’m going against randoms I prefer ygo pro. dueling book is filled with salamangreat players that don’t play right

I don't play on duelingbook though. I just like an automatic simulator better.
I personally play on dueling nexus, even tho it has days i call a glitch-fest. Some cards just dont work properly in nexus, or the feild goes effing wonky. I recently figured out how to get dueling book working on my phone and ipad so i can make my own cards and archetypes that i can play with.

Question??? If i play a trap that states banish a monster to special summon a fusion monster, can your opponent play called by the grave to remove that card stopping the fusion during any game phase?

To be honest the ruling of use vs activate. Negate effect vs negate activation is a ruling that alot of people screw up on.

Luckily now you can activate a second duality if the first gets ashed with new rules added 1 year later. Based Konami saying negated=not successfully activated thus cards with the text once per turn can be tried again. One of my fav changes in the recent rule changes.

The rule change only works if a card wasnt successfully activated, not negated.
What I mean is, you can activate a 2nd pot if the first pot gets solemn judgement aka its activation negated but you cant activate a 2nd pot if ash blossom negates it because only its effect got negated, not the activation.
@@zurajanaisephirothda3886 as per the 2022 format; once per turn effects are now optional. If you want to use a second Pot card, Ash, or Maxx "C", you just have to say "no cap" while activating the second copy.
Maybe connection to koty myth I not sure if this is a glitch to the yugioh games on ds, but I think it was true there once. On equip tockens. The old ds games did screw me up on that ruling too by maybe a memory at least.

Destiny heroes r my fav archetype so use plasma alot and my best bud has a few fav decks 1 being plants and aromas so he often uses black garden. As such i have had plenty of experience equiping tokens onto plasma.

Its so funny how people do t read. Literally if you read ash against other negate cards you will see that ash negates the effect not activation, so if ash said activation then he could activate duality again because it was never activated therefore you can play another. This is why people should read their cards. Cyber dragon infinity is a good example as it says card or effect activation can be negated then destroyed. That should help some in chat. I really am happy this guy makes videos. He skimmed past it a bit as to not explain how the negates work, but he probably didn't want to explain something people should know by reading. Anyways, have some self respect. Even manual labor is worth 20 an hour. people just love adversity porn and like to romanticize their own unnecessary hardships.

That's a good question. I asked multiple people on DistantCoder's chat. The consensus is that since the summon and destroy is all one effect, even though the destroy is not simultaneous with the summon, Bagooska can't switch you to defense on-summon (because the effect is still being given time to resolve), so you summon, then destroy it, then since Bagooska is off the field its continuous effect does not switch you to defense. Then you are not negated because you were not in defense specifically when the effect was activated; you were a Scale.

it's about spell speed. cards can only respond to effects with an equal or lower spell speed. since counter traps are spell speed three, you'd need a spell speed three effect to respond to it, and as far as I'm aware that's only counter traps

Well, the token ruling really isn't something that comes up since most people don't play cards that can equip token, or would even want to equip a token to begin with
I've recently started playing goats in online and did so at locals back I'm January 2020.. I've been in yugioh for around 2 years and won 0 big games and knee that tokens can be equipped.. 😓
