Don’t let the whiners get you down. Many people including myself really appreciate the information you provide. I’m new to Airsoft and love to tinker. I think it was one of your videos that taught me what “hop up” is and what it does.
... I knew how this was installed but I clicked and watched just because you're entertaining to watch haha. For the WE F key I find I need to shave the ridge on the top off so it doesn't tilt.
I important thing to remember is the barrel cutout. On some barrels, the I-key and barrel cutout interferes with each other. And can result in the bucking getting cut open.
that is a very good point, most of the PDI/Nineball/Maple Leaf barrels will work great but there are other companies that do have smaller windows, like RA TECH old ones with the multi cuts.

I have a maple leaf crazy jet barrel, maple leaf 60 degree bucking and an ikey installed in my 5.1 goldmatch hicapa and my bbs are overhopping like crazy even with .30 gram bbs. Is this because I am using the stock tm hop up wheel? Will using the maple leaf hop up wheel fix this?
@@KnucklesGSM the hop is already turned all the way down on the stock hopup wheel and it still overhops on .30 bbs, when I look down the barrel I can see the nub is pushed down too. Thanks for the help btw I'm like binge watching all of your videos haha
Maybe a lilbit late for you: Stock TM wheel gives 1mm more hop with its half twist compared to the ML Wheel with a full twist - so if you use TM Wheel with ML I-Key your hopup patch shows 1mm deeper into the barrel like if you would use the ML Wheel. I thinka thats why you cant use lighter weight BBs
could you make a video about nozzle & short stroking issues. like sticking nozzles when you try limit slide movement to a minimum, or upward tilting nozzles on fresh loaded mags? also some info how you handle trigger tunning, like improving disconnector movement for faster/reliable reset would be nice.
i talk about the tuning and short stroking in multiple videos but i dont think i have a dedicated video about it. i know i wont do anything about trigger tuning, ive had people in the past complain that they watched my videos and ruined their guns etc.
@@KnucklesGSM short stroking is easy no question. but it would be interessting to see how you overcome the nozzle issues that kick in if you really go to the limit (like 7 buffers+, when the nozzles starts to stick).
I find it mostly uneeded UNLESS you aren't able to hop the chosen weight of BB. I find the key can cause over hopping in 99% of the time, but sometimes there's just some malfunction or maybe your hop up just can't lift those .45's. That's when you will put one in. I fixed a customer's KJW KP-05 the other week, something was wrong in the hop up I couldn't figure out and it would not hop at all. Installed the key and now it hops perfectly fine. You don't necessarily need the maple leaf either, this will work perfectly fine with PDI-W Hold too. Don't buy ANY OTHER bucking btw. Just PDI-W Hold, and if you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT get the PDI bucking, go Maple Leaf Autobotts. Or whatever their new W line is called.
If I were to get a maple leaf bucking, do I have to use one of these? I have their delta bucking, and I've bent the hop up arm where it past perpendicular inwards, and I still have trouble hopping .25s very far
no you do not need it, a normal autobot/decepticon works just fine without it. i have not used the delta bucking myself or on any customers so cant help with that one.
I have an I-Key and Maple Leaf hopup bucking but I cannot get consistent shots. My hopup unit is copper. The ML buckings are shorter then other buckings and this can be seen at the window where the bucking is held in the hopup unit. Some say that the only way to get consistent shots its to cut away some rubber. Id rather not use ML aluminium hopup unit, and would consider AM brass unit. I dont know if a new hopup unit would make a difference. What do you recommend to fix this? What is your experience of ML buckings in Hi Capas? Thanks
They work really good for me, I've used them in multiple setups, I am not sure what you are experiencing though. What window are you referring to? The top or the right side? You can't go wrong with the AM Brass hop up but that is expensive so I would see what you can do about your current setup. Try a stock bucking and swap out to see what changes etc.
@@KnucklesGSM Thanks man. You mean a stock bucking and the I-key? That works! Already swapped out the bucking. If you have not had problems with ML bucking with the I-key then I guess its just my installation issues. Yeah the window Im referring to is the hop window on the side of the hopup unit, where you align the bucking . The bucking falls short of occupying that window. My shots always went to one side, like the I-key combo with the ML bucking being shorter could be causing it. I tried reinstallaion 3 times. I guess I will try again. Any advice is welcomed.
Yesterday i installed a new pdi 6.01 and a Maple Leaf Autobot 50 to my DOR i got inconsistency with every shot. Like 180fps, 230fps, 190fps and so on (using 0.28 BBs and duster gas). I simply opened the hu-unit one more time, removed & re-installed the same bucking to the barrel again, made sure to push the lips a lilbit more towards the nozzle and voila... 231, 230, 229... ;o) it was a fraction of a MM that caused the problem
negative you do not, its really just for people who want to use heavier bbs, but you dont even have to buy this, you can do it like we did back in the days, you just use a hard piece of plastic or coke aluminium shims
Hi im use a little piece of heat shrink tube to tie the i key, On the hop up arm, But the heat shrink not cover all the i key piece . For more easy installation and prevent to the i key move off or drop out when intalling . But i cant explain more best because to mi bad english Grethings.

Ohhh my impression was that the grooves were for the hop up arm so mine was on upside down and sideways. Still worked ok surprisingly

amazing, short, educational video. 10/10
I find it works really well with stock/uac/dynamic precision bucking when the contour is upwards

no that is normal for the i key and your setup, you can run much heavier bbs or lower the hop

Thanks for answering my question it was my rear sight was loose
And another grate how to video. Thanks I have a .177 bb glock 17 gen 4 will this hopup unit be compatible with the .177 if I use the 177 bucking?
if you use heavy bbs like .30s and above id definitely recomend flipping it around you get way more hop that way
you should be able to hop up crazy with it just normal if installed with the maple leaf setup
Thanks b this help cause I just got a mapleaf buckin any I couldn't figure out why the hop up wheel kept spinning back

it's a good upgrade for 0.25 with maple leaf rubber? What rubber u recomend for this weight ? Thanks from spain.
dont mind people that hate homie,if it was face to face they would be on the ground crying.

increases hop

there is no best, just what you like. i definitely love the maple leaf as my budget barrel and nicer barrel i tend to run pdi
