  • We took a cheap flight from Bangkok to Phuket, Thailand. It was short, but it was also on Thailand's lowest rated airline, Nok Air, and we wanted to give a review of our experience.

After visiting Costa Rica and French Polynesia, we realized the time was right to quit our jobs and travel full time. Singha beer was introduced/produced into Thailand about 100 years ago using German recipe. It was highly appreciated by both Thai and expat drinkers. Even though other local brand was introduced one or another but could not shake Singha's dominance and died away until Thai Beverages, the largest and most dominant liquor producer (mostly rum and white spirit) in Thailand, decided to partner with Carlberg to produce the brand locally to compete with Singha. It also resulted in a failure to challenge Singha. Both sides gradually drifted apart and Carlberg was eventually no longer produced locally. Before the final breakup, Thai Beverages introduced Chang (Elephant) beer, which was much cheaper to gain market share from Singha. It was successful in a few years after heavy promotion and discounted price, and became No.1 seller. This was the reason that Carlberg decided to quit the Thai market as it seemed its Thai partner did not care to promote Carlberg anymore after Chang beer was successfully introduced. Singha did not give in and introduced Leo at the same price of Chang and it instantly became a success as well. Now, Chang and Leo are neck and neck, dominating local Thai beer market.

      That’s such a fascinating story! The Germans do know how to make good beer! Hahah! And so do the Thais 🙌🏼 cheers 🍻

    That's quite common among budget airlines that you have to be at the gate very early. The check-in and boarding may close way earlier than on a standard airlines. That way they can minimize their delays and maximize their profits, when the plane is standing on an airport and not flying in the sky it's not making money. So you should definitely read the small print carefully when using them to avoid missing your flight! 😄

      Oh wow that is so interesting! We are so happy we didn’t miss the flight since it left so early😂🙌🏼

    Nok air is a really good airline. It mostly leaves before it was supposed to and arrive before it was supposed to arrive. Even when they leave late, they still arrive early.

    So glad I saw this, I'm one to get to the airport an hour before my plane boards here domestically in the states. I will be sure to get there at least 2.5 hours before LOL flying BKK to Chiang Mai and eventually Ko Samui

    • @JacobandJennyTravel
      @JacobandJennyTravel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hahaha yes for sure get there a little bit sooner as they board super early! We are happy to help :) thanks for watching!

    Funny extreme travelling. "Let's book a flight to the lowest rated airline!" and then everything is ok :D
    And nice to watch your tropical journey while it's one of the coldest days of this winter today.

    Never had any bad experiences with the angry birds. But then again. I know that time slots where airlines are allowed to stand at the gate are very expensive and low cost carriers want to leave asap

    These con artists cancelled my flight wirh no real explaination. They have not refunded me. The insurance they use are not contactable.
    Do not fly wirh this company.
    Use the bus transport if you have the time. More relible and comfortable. If you use nok air bevsuse you have a further international fliight you might miss it. I also had a time when they turned back, when near Ranong. Again no ecplaination.
