Wow! I did not expect a domestic flight to have this kind of service. This puts a shame to all national carriers and major airlines serving so little yet getting huge income from loyal passengers! Good on ya for sharing this video. 😁
Ok we LOVE Bangkok Airways!! Wonderful food and service. Chris flew them last year (when they weren’t officially allowed to serve meals on the plane) and when he disembarked, they gave every passenger a lunch bag. So cute. I think we’ve 100% become disenfranchised in Australia with what to expect from a domestic flight.
Indeed... The Aussie domestic scene is just in a very dire state. All that's left is to rip out the JCL seats on QF and replace them with moveable half bulkheads, and we'll be Europe.
Wow! I recall taking BKK Airways from SIN to their legendary hub on Koh Samui island. Was bussed out across tarmac to their ATR-72 turbo prop, in a time when every flight had air bridges. Was a low & scenic flight along east coast of MY. When we landed, they used trams to bring us to the terminal which had traditional Thai architecture, like Bali's old airport.
Great Video Ryan.. Like you, I travel the world with just hand luggage. Not having to check in luggage saves time & I find 7 kilos enough to travel with, got it down to a fine art now. Thanks for the info on lounge access with Bangkok Airways, wasn’t aware of that. Not bad variety of food there for a lounge with access to all passengers. Yes watching what food & drink you were served I think we in Australia are being short changed. Great value flight, one I’ll definately have to look at. Safe travels Ryan, look forward to your next video..
some airlines are damned strict on 7kgs carry on luggage. Ryan's carry on definitely over 7kgs, incl his IT gears for content creation, unless he only packed 2 pairs of undies,
I really like Old Swampy airport BKK! Always a pleasure to visit there. I'll be back there in August. It only took me about 2 minutes to travel through immigration at BKK in April when I arrived. They definitely improved greatly. I paid about A$45 for my flight on Bangkok Airways from Bangkok to Chiang Mai last July. Bargain! Almost double to fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui as no competition but still cheap compared to Aussie domestic flights.
Who doesn't like old swampy? Lol... Its so dysfunctional its almost charming from that point of view. I just found out Bangkok Airways is a QF partner. Now just wondering if I can get some points from this flight into my QFF.
I received similar service on a short flight with Thai Airways from Suvarnabhumi to Khon Kaen (halfway between BKK and Chiang Mai). Fantastic flying domestic in TH. However I found them abit backwards with electronics, really pushy to completely off our phone and take out earbuds during take-offs and landing. It's also common to find 500/600 baht flights for my route, fantastic compared to a 6/7 hour drive.
Oh absolutely! Transportation within Thailand is very reasonably priced. I was hoping to get a nonstop flight between Chiang Mai and Phuket in business class, but it occurred to me TG no longer flies domestic flights. Shame!
6:40 - Love the lounges but both Domestic and Intl lounges for Bangkok Airways are far away from the gates they actually use. Almost in the opposite direction. So if you plan to use the lounges, make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy them.
i too think the air nozzle is really important i need fresh air! Dont understand people who dont! impressive service always wondered what Bangkok Airlines were like I confess I thought they were a cut price operator
Oh no they were never cut price. In fact on international flights, they're always very expensive especially for flights into Koh Samui... Great little airline they are.
Wow, im 2 months late with this vlog. I am stoked you did this vlog mate coz I booked this as my flight from BKK to HKT in November on Qantas rewards seats back in February I think it was. Im glad I did after seeing this as I wouldn't have known about the lounge. Love your humour as usual. Glad I wasn't drinking a coffee at the time you talking about your oral projectile range 😂
aus low cost airlines such as Jetstar and Tiger, even on paid meals, the choices are much to be desired....... Hot meal is a cultural thing, In most part of asia, hot meal is equal to cold cut and dry biscult in western culture. If you serve cold sandwiches in domestic or short international flights in asia, you will leave with no passengers.
I have witnessed foreign couples flying airasia encoute from singapore to kl, an 1 hour flight (actual on air excluding ascending and descending abt 20mins) preordered nasi lemak. I felt sorry for them as they need to rush off the meal in god speed before the crew served and collected their meals. Haha.
@@linustw ha yes I've done the air Asia nasi lemak between SIN KUL! I'm still eating as we descend. The crew mostly turn a blind eye to those still eating on final approach. Because there's just no way to finish your meal in that time.
As a Thai, we adopted Sanskrit but we adapted to our pronunciation. So, Su-wan-na-poom is correct for our standard Thai dialect. PS, Thai adopted both Bali and Sanskrit so that’s why we adapted some pronunciation to align the local Thai words
If you're flying into Suvarnabhumi, just follow the signs for transferring flights once you step out of your SYD-BKK flight ... it's very easy. That's assuming the agents has checked your bags in all the way to Chiang Mai. If not, you have to clear immigration and collect your bags, then head upstairs to departures to check in again.

No worries! Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for popping by!
that was unbelievable getting a yummy meal like that on an hours flight. well done. look forward to your next trip
Thanks for your support, as always.

I'm yet to make it to Samui. And yes.... Those trams at the airport. Lol, feels like a theme park.
Bangkok Airways Is Another Airlines I Havent Flown With.Great Trip Report

Wish I could travel on just 7kg. My laptop bag which holds my laptop, hard drive, camera gear and cables alone is more than 7kg.
Ryan, it was enjoyable watching your flight appraisal. I find your enthusiasm for this flight very well worth listening to. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for popping by!
Great video!! Looking forward to our upcoming flights on Bangkok Airways. Great information that we will put to use!! Thank you….
Enjoy your flight with PG! They're really such a unique airline.

1 hour flight… under $75AUD and you get a meal service.. wow
Great trip report
Thanks man... Yes we're really missing out down under with our cheese and crackers, that's if we even get anything at all!.... 🤣
@@ryansofly definitely! I realised that on my last trip to Singapore and Malaysia… you just get used to it here 😆

Indeed they were quite the walk!
I went to visited Thailand back in May 2018 for the first time.
Awesome! It's one of my fave countries in the world. The food is awesome. Hope you enjoyed the trip.

Thank you Ryan for your beautiful video.Very impressive indeed.😂😅..
You're very welcome!
nice report
Thanks for watching!
Does Bangkok airways still do their safety video? It’s one of my favourites since young!
Nah this was manual... No TVs in the cabin.

Is it just me or did anyone else hear a dirty joke on 8:35😂, btw Ryan you make great videos keep up the good work
You have no idea the amount of filth in my mind which fails to make it to air. Hahahahaha.... Cheers and thanks for watching.
Hi, an avid Sanskrit speaker here, the pronunciation is not soo-wa-na-poom
It is svar-naa-bhu-mi
Are the Thais saying it wrong then?
As a Thai, we adopted Sanskrit but we adapted to our pronunciation.
So, Su-wan-na-poom is correct for our standard Thai dialect.
PS, Thai adopted both Bali and Sanskrit so that’s why we adapted some pronunciation to align the local Thai words
You are very good what you say 😅)
Thank you! 😃
I’m coming from Sydney Australia, going to Chiang Mai, can you tell me how to change flights at Bangkok airport
Thankyou for your reply
So what you are saying is if I innocently ask to see the T&C I could get myself arrested 🤔😋
No sick bag 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol what? T&C's? Arrested? Yeah if I got sick inflight and needed to spew, I'd be in trouble. 😂
A brilliant happy video!!!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for popping by!
