This video will cover the story Three Sparks. Featured in the Novel Predator: If It Bleeds.
Nasu Hiroto is one of the greatest warriors of Feudal Japan. He fled his country in search of bigger game to hunt. Only to return, when he heard stories of an ONI (demon) hunting Samurai in a forest. None had survived. The Shogun, Minamoto Yoritomo was going to punish Hiroto for abondoning his duties after the war, but since he is here, perhaps he can reclaim his honor by slaying this Demon. In a lot of ways, this story in the Predator lore would makes sense that the Yaucha had inspired the creation of the shinobi ninjas
A predator inspiring a new form of warriors like the shinobi is what makes this story good for me. The only downside is that the predator itself acts like a bad blood rather than what we see in first movie. The pred spams his cannons way too many and seemed to much more incompetent and succumb to emotions. Having said that the story is still awesome and the way the fight is so detailed you can picture a scene on your mind while listening.
if it ever gets adapted, I hope it follows Preys example where it fights based on what the prey uses and not just immediately resorting to its superior strength and laser tech
@@ryanreviews8566 you do realize the pred in prey bitched out as soon as it took a bit of damage by cloaking and then dishonorably stabs a worthy opponent in the back while that opponent only had a bow and arrow
I really like the idea of people in feudal Japan encountering a Yautja and interpreting it as an oni (or perhaps the idea of oni originated from Yautja in the first place). The way these monstrous and ancient hunters influence the mythology of different human civilizations is one of my favorite aspects of AVP lore.
Edit: Okay, Hiroto is an amazing character as well. His decision to travel _defenseless_ into the hunting grounds with a party of foolhardy samurai in order to safely observe the predator's tactics before he engages it himself is a stroke of cold, calculated genius.
Man I wish they made it as a movie I'll love the predator being a time period like in feudal Japan

My head canon for this is that the Guns ninja would use were inspired by the Oni’s shoulder canon.
That was an awesome story! Historical Fiction has always been fascinating in that "What if" sense.
That was a pretty good story. Kinda figured with the use of tactics that flew in the face of samurai ideals that it would have something to do with the genesis of ninjas. I guess the use of Ghost of Tsushima screenshots was a nice parallel in retrospect.

I think predator would lend its self very well to the Animated format … even an Animated AVP would be awesome…. There are rumours that an AVP anime was finished before the Disney fox merger , but it will never be released

From this story the predator was the inspiration for the Ninja … so technically the predator already is Ninja
@Thitipong Kasemwarit Yes that's the idea. Great warriors, later selected by the Shogun's hero, heard of the legendary Oni's skills and decided to adopt his lethal ways as their trademark.
This was a really good story. I loved every second of this.

This is one of my favorite stories from that book. Please do more out of this graphic novel. The whole book is awesome for true Predator fans.

I imagine 2 awesome movies, first one Samurai vs. Predator, the second Shinobi vs. Predator.
The first movie is based on 6 samurai trying to kill the
Oni/Predator, two of them survived but badly injured the Predator leaves because of an emergency. The second movie, the two surviving samurai, uses the Oni/Predator tactics, and they become shinobi. The second movie, the Oni/Predator, returns to finish the hunt 9 years later. The two now shinobis hear about a
Oni/Predator killing people and go after it with the help of other shinobis.
Its really fitting that the predator's head is comparable to an ox, its like they were made for this setting as a sci fi oni

The Novels have some amazing stories. But this one is truly awesome with its history about Samurai and Ninjas.

Also does the story really connect (if it does) to the predators storyline about the katana that was found in the ship? when the yakuza gang member along with the other survivors, found the katana which he explain looked ancient and had a lot of history behind it, that could be the only easter egg on there that showed that hint, I hope I'm making sense if not then correct me.
