    Can anyone advise if using a bigger resistor (2ohm 100watts) be used? Feedback from many is that the resistor gets really hot. I want to bypass my 2011 Yukon magneride. I'm thinking a bigger resistor will help dissipate heat better.

      If you are converting your struts from the magnetic auto ride to regular conventional struts that don’t have the auto ride, you will need this resistor bypass so it does not throw the code of service suspension system on your dash. And the reason you would be switching them over to conventional struts, it’s basically the price difference.

      @@eBayApps90 Fantastic! We've never been called 'Scammers' before.
      Yes please, checkout our site. www.shocksims.com and our TH-cam channel.
      Currently, we don't support any vehicles previous to 2015. We specialize in the newer (2015 - 2020 Truck/SUV) Z95 magneride and Z45 active suspension which require a more sophisticated bypass.
      than soldering in resistors.
      We get many inquires a week about bypassing the older style Z55 active suspension. When people ask how to bypass the shocks and struts on an 2007 to 2013 truck or SUV we forward them this video.
      The older style SCM (2007-2013) is more than happy to have a resistor soldered inline.

      We have been designing and manufacturing magneride bypass products for racecar applications and coilover suspension manufactures since the newest generation came out in the 2014 C7 Corvette. We have a network of GM dealerships that stock our bypass kits to offer their customers a more cost effective alternative to replacing magneride shocks with traditional passive shocks and struts.
      But yeah the most common issue is blown front magneride struts on the new vehicles.
      So if you have a 2015-2020 Tahoe/Suburban, Yukon/XL, or Escalade with leaking front magneride struts our $250 half kit and a pair of Monroe 139104 for $220 is a great fix.
      Thanks for your time and attention. :)

      In the beginning of the video you can see what kind of resistors they are. They say 50 watts on them but also has the brand and model # but as long as they are 50watts you should be good.

    So this has to be done to every wheel correct?

    • @GreeksGarage
      @GreeksGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every shock that you are switching over, but if you switch the rears and keep the air shocks you won’t need to on the rears.

    Don’t you have to ground them?

    • @jrgsxr33
      @jrgsxr33 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the cars circuit reads the resistance across the resistor, no need to ground anything m.

    Anyone else do this and have the resistors get boiling hot? WTF?

    You never want to use butt connectors on the electrical circuits outside the vehicle moisture and water will corrode it and the problem will show up again it's better to solder and heat shrink wrap them and if you get the proper tools you won't be struggling trying to put the butt connectors on. those cheap ass Walmart wire stripper / crimpers don't work

    I gotta say I like your video but one thing I dislike is how you cute the wires, you should never cut two wires at the same time for teaching purpose even if you had your battery out just my thought

      @@GreeksGarage no problem, what happens is that due to the metal on the tool if you cut both wires and say its a live circuit you can damage either module or ecu because you are manually completing circuit while cutting with the tool
