It's a shame the 3DS line is so expensive on the second-hand market, hopefully they start to drop in the near future because they're amazing to own!
Honestly, I've seen the 2ds dropping in price on like marketplace. If you're not getting one of the new models, I'd go with the 2ds
It won’t drop. It’s just getting more expensive, cause it’s not manufactured anymore in a long time. And people do want it a lot
I was at a second hand shop i heard a Guy say He sold his New 3DS XL there and got $100. He said he regrets it cause the shop did minor repairs to it and have on sale for $300. What an idiot.
I feel this. I've been trying to track down an XL model (OG or "New") since March! But the prices are crazy high, so many listings online putting some pretty scratched OG models for over $300!!

9:37 I know it's streaming from other hardware running it, but it's crazy to see Zelda BOTW on 3DS.
Have you tried running BOTW on PC with CEMU? Amazing experience. 4k support, as many FPS as you can muster, motion controls, all of it. Basically blows away the BOTW experience on any current switch console, even docked with a nice TV.
@@boburanus69I mean, with a good TV you can run the game at a sharp definition and at 120 fps without emulating it.

I've been running CFW for a while now and it's so amazing. I really like people are still actively developing stuff for the 3DS. It's the best console out there hands down. And with emulation this "beast" can play thousands of games in your pocket. What i did not hear in the video and people should be aware of is Streetpass. PLEASE KEEP STREETPASS ALIVE PEOPLE!!!

I LOVE my 3DS since it released, my 3DS XL broke then I bought a second handed and the buttons werent working properly, then I fixed it and I'm HAPPY NOW , I LOVE 3DS GAMES, Project X Zone, New Art Academy, Mario 3D Land and so many more, I'm crazy about Bravely Default too, I really love playing in 3d and the portability
Only bad thing about the sm64 port is that the camera doesn’t move automatically, like when there was a cutscene if Mario entering the castle for the first time I saw the outside of the castle, and not Mario in the castle, and sometimes in important moments it doesn’t move automatically too, without this problem it’d be perfect
just dont use puppycam version build, it horible. Im playing in sm64 on 3ds without it. Awesome!
I tried both Mario 64 versions. The one using dual screen lags a lot in 3d mode while the single screen one is fine , and I noticed the saves transfer between each version automatically which is nice.
Gotta go back and redownload those games that didn’t work! Thank you and the majoras 3ds looks awesome
such a tough sell since scalpers decided to push the value up to about $500, its one thing to spend 500 (even if you can afford it), its another to spend 500 when you realize you're in SteamDeck territory / powerful android devices like Odin 2.
What the actual heck??? I bought mine used from Japan for around $120. It's flaking like crazy but one of those clear shells makes for a nice patina-like situation.

Online going down recently is a pretty big deal though. Pretendo is only able to cover a few of the popular games at the moment, but games like Fire Emblem Fates are honestly a lot less fun without online.
I still love my 3DS, I actually have 3 of them, one is my OG one I have that is not Modded. then I have a Modded New 3DS and a Modded original wedge shape 2DS. so much games to play
Thanks for that import seed tip. There's random stuff that doesn't work sometimes with the three devices Ive modded throughout the years

I have two new 3DS XL and one new 2DS XL. 3DS is a must Nintendo Handheld console to own.

You forgot to mention IPS screens! They can make the value of your New 3ds go up substantially for instance I have a video with my hyrule edition New 3ds sadly I didn’t know about this when I bought it and the screens are TN these only go for around $320 while dual IPS ones go for $450+!! Crazy how expensive they can get it’s pretty much like comparing an OLED switch to a predecessor switch anyways great video!

So sad it's not made anymore. I hope some manufacturer somewhere ( cough China ) makes a "Tree DS XL" to save the console from slow hardware degradation without new units.
I modded my og midnight purple 3ds last year and later on brought a new galaxy 3ds xl and cloned my og data on there. I always wanted one and I brought it on Aliexpress. I don't blame you for buying something you always wanted and having the luck to find it when it's rare or super expensive.

Surprised at how good Mario Tennis Virtual Boy looks! I actually adored the 3DS version of that, was great to take to events as it had Download Play

The new 3ds has a built in way to access the sd card without removing the back plate. I've used it for years on mine with the exception of when I had first installed a larger micro sd card at one point. Go into settings and data management and there's a button there that lets you do what FTPD does without any homebrew.

I still have my 2ds from a long time ago. I started to continue the Mario and Luigi superstar saga remake because I wasn’t good at RPGs when I was younger. My friend also jailbroke his 3ds and got pretendo on it and recommended me to do the same. I might try it

You can just clone systems to use the same SD card across multiple systems and access all the same data instead of having to go through the process of backing up all the saves, using the computer to transfer files over, then restoring them on the rather system. I have 6 systems running on one SD card seamlessly 😎

The big drawback to the 3DS these days is how much it'll probably cost to get one. Especially one of the New models. Make sure to take great care of yours if you have one because you really won't want to have to buy a replacement if you can help it lol

with how much the switch struggles to play switch games, saying that the 3ds runs 3ds games really well is actually worth mentioning cx

The prices on red pro are ridiculous they're charging way too much for 3DS handhelds. I use virtual console injects for GBA games

My dad got me the majoras mask edition when the new 3ds dropped, and I wasn't there to get the package. It was regoin locked, and my dad thought that meant I couldn't use the console and sent it back without asking. So i got screwed out of that

Never diss the 2ds ever, brotha! It don't have hinges, which makes it infinitely more convenient than the regular 3ds! Facts!
I find it the most comfortable model and also the transparent models are the better looking special editions IMO
but the only downside i see with a 2ds. is it don't have an option to close, so the screens are more vulnerable to break. because they lack that closure protection. mine did twice and had to get it repaired both times.

It probably is. I've seen a lot on eBay that are reshelled one big tell tell sign is when they don't have the serial number on the back .
@@kagamisaito9179 Mostly when the design is darker, its a big sign that its reshelled. There's nothing wrong with them, unless if you paid crazy amount for it.

@@diegotszx6693 I like my gaming consoles to work straight out of the box no matter how old they get and I’ve looked up some videos about how to mod and depending on who’s modding it they say different things different programs different ways to navigate. I don’t want to put in the time with effort to learn programming and coding right now because that’s what it seems like to me.🙂↔️ maybe if I had a second console then I’d mod it but I only have one and I like how it is as is.🙃

If you have a launch model, then it's been this easy for at least 5 or 6 years
Please don't learn from this video and never emulate anything from Twilight menu, it will load in DS mode and look terrible, specially GBA, which you can run natively using either injects or open_agb_firm.
2DS is an awesome device and more comfortable in my opinion. And the New 2DSXL is the superior of them all. 3D was such a boring gimmick on the device.
