    Shocked at how relevant the timing of your videos are. I got my first iron fitting this weekend, and was fit in to the Modus 120S. Never realized how different steel shafts could feel from each other, but the Modus 120S was the clear winner with the Mizuno HMB heads. Are these 2 shafts the only other "similar" shafts to the Modus? It felt totally different than the KBS and Oban shafts I tried (86 club head in the 6i on Trackman)

    I know this is a older video but does anyone know how to trim the accra iseries 125g shafts? I was recently fitted for them and will be building the irons myself but cannot find a trim guide. Are these shafts tip trimmed, or just butt trimmed to length? thanks

    Not sure if you guys will see this being an older video but I’d love to see a video of either of you guys with your higher swing speeds using stock iron shafts. My irons were available in regular, stuff, xstiff like normal, mine are stiff. My swing is the picture of when Ian said a lot of load and when I try to swing harder I can see on slowmo video my shafts wobbling like wet noodles. However I’m not ruling out the dispersion problem I have when I want to try to lean on a club being my own fault but that’s why I’d love to see one of you guys try it. Thanks guys for the videos and can’t wait for the border to open up!

      @@alldayrays7110 Whats the difference feel wise between the LZ and modus in your opinion

    • @alldayrays7110
      @alldayrays7110 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dan There is definitely a difference in feel and weight. The 6.0 LZs are 120g and the Nippon Modus 120 S is about 7 grams lighter. I would say the biggest difference is loading. The Nippon has a different kick or snap to it and launches a little lower for me. Which I like with the 4 iron. The LZs give me more height. Both are great as far as dispersion. I play Callaway Apex Pro 4-AW with the Nippon only in the 4 iron.

  • @thisjustanother
    @thisjustanother 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i went from about 110g to 95g shafts (both still stiff). i seem to have lost yards on the 95g. is there any relation to weight and yardage? or me just sucking with that particular lighter shaft?

    Do you guys actually see more height and more spin with the Elevate Tour shaft compared to these shafts? Is Elevate Tour bad for a quick, aggressive transition player with an early release?

  • @stephenbenham8500
    @stephenbenham8500 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi boys what shaft would you recommend for someone with an aggressive transition with a short not very fast clubhead speed about 74mph .Interesting you say a more aggressive transition better suited to heavier shaft near grip but always in fittings pushed towards light shafts which I'm not convinced are best for me regarding feel. Is there a shaft better suited for a(jerky at times slow in terms of speed)type swing

  • @justinpressley8190

    Any insight on SST pureing of the shafts? Does either iron versus driver pureing have more of an impact? Would be interested to hear if you have tested this. Seems to be mixed reviews but most leaning towards this being a money grab and not necessary on newer shafts. Thanks!

    • @ianfrasergolf
      @ianfrasergolf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review as usual, always so interesting when you go in depth into literal micro details, great insight and knowledge. Ian what would your thoughts be on a golf set starting with a 10 degree driver going up in 5 degrees up to 60 degree wedge only having 12 clubs in my bag? Would that be possible or would loft, lies and lengths of clubs be too inconsistent for distance control? Also will bending clubs create a big offset to the heads? I get different answers off club pros I ask so can’t think of anyone better to ask than TXG, cheers, keep up the good work 👍🏻

    Interesting video. Ive always had r/s300. Until i got fitted 4 years ago into xp95, i have quick transition and swing 91mph in 7 iron. My latest irons i got fitted into s300 amt. How different is the ei curve?

  • @eagleeye7068
    @eagleeye7068 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good stuff as always fellas. After playing DG300 for years I was fitted to 6.0 LZs in my T100s to reduce weight and spin - local big box shop with limited shaft options only. Trouble is I feel I really have to put out effort on every swing and am not as consistent with distance and dispersion. I was considering going to DG120s to tighten things up until I saw this and wonder if 5.5 LZs would have been a better fit with 80 MPH SS with 7 iron. Thoughts?

    • @Fufiloofa
      @Fufiloofa 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was the LZ, it is much softer than "normal" PX, LZ 6.0 is like PX5.0 and PX5.5 is like a stiff in KBS, Dynamic Gold etc, PX6.0 is almost like X stiff. Flex is only relevant in that model from that brand, since profiles and weight aren't similar.
